Rush Limbaugh, Life and Liberty Rush gave conservatism a shot in the arm but much more is needed before real recovery can be effected.by Lou Poumakis

Rush's speech the other day was indeed a breath of fresh air in the midst of the polluted and poisonous atmosphere we have been abiding for some time now. It was good to see the response of the audience and to know that large numbers of Americans throughout this great land are indeed reflecting the same sentiments. Both Republicans and Democrats have been bombarding us with arguments for why we need more and more government control of everything and especially the economy. We seem to have moved from bad to worse since Obama replaced Bush. The liberty Rush spoke of so eloquently is truly slipping through our fingers. We are surrendering virtually all we gained since we broke out from under British rule and are doing so with great rapidity. Hopefully the contrast we see between Limbaugh and Obama will become more and more evident and have a lasting and building effect and we will see at least a slowing down, if not a reversal, of the slide into slavery currently in process.
There was something missing though in Rush's speech, an element without which true freedom and dignity cannot be achieved. It is the same ingredient that both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution also lack. Rush quoted the Declaration to say that it is God that gives us rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The Bible though does not say that God gives anyone any rights. It tells us that in Christ we can find both life and liberty; He, and He alone, is "the Way, the Truth and the Life." Without Christ we cannot have life or liberty other than in an illusory, transitory sense. The freedom and prosperity we enjoyed in America was a direct consequence of the faith of the American people. It was only their strength of faith that made possible the trust and cooperation Americans had for each other, characteristics that made this country great and without which, we would never have become the land where the streets were thought to be paved in gold. This is one sense in which Christ brings freedom and life to the nations that recognize Him as Lord.
Our Founding Fathers did some great work in the Constitution they gave us but they also were only men, subject to the same kinds of failings as we are. They attempted to bind the government with the chains of a document and it worked for a while. Today though, the Constitution is basically ignored, except when it is convenient to cite it in one's favor. Both the Constitution and the Declaration failed to recognize Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords. In this they left open the argument the Liberals now employ in holding that it defines a secular government. Christians, attempting to refute them, point to the use of the "year of our Lord" in the text. This extremely weak response is all they have because the Fathers, again fallible people, really let us down at this point. They, too much affected by John Locke, thought that civil government and religion should be separated. They thought that man, especially good Christian men, could maintain a godly and orderly society through their own efforts.
But the Bible says that "the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." In other words, we were never created with the ability to legislate our own laws or, if we were, we lost it at some point. God gave us His word. It is sufficient for our direction in every area of life, including government. Because it is a word from God, our Creator, it is a law-word on a par with the laws of gravity and physics, laws we either obey or perish. To ignore God's law is to suffer the kinds of consequences we are seeing today both in the economy and in the rise of government power over our lives. The bottom line is its God's way or no way. We cannot go against the word of the one that created us with impunity. The Bible tells us "blessed is the nation whose god is the Lord." The flip side of that though is "cursed is the nation that denies God." This nation has denied God and is suffering today, not because God is angry with us, but because we have attempted to do the impossible, to govern ourselves outside of God's law.
Hopefully Rush's speech will help bring America back to its senses but any substantial recovery of what we've lost will not be realized until the nation returns to God and recognizes Christ as Lord and King.

I am convinced that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Amy Goodman and Daniel Schorr, just to mention the most notorious disinformers of the right and the left, play an important role in an ongoing psychological warfare operation against the American people. The main goal of this psy-op is to maintain the myth that there are two opposing parties with different agendas, and that just by changing puppets we will solve our problems. It is becoming increasily evident, however, that the new puppet is continuing exactly the same treasonous policies of the previous one.
Rush is a fake. For example, he coined the word "feminazi". But, have you ever heard him mention one of the most notable feminazis, Dick Cheney's daughter? Why does he never mentions the dangers of he New World Order in his programs?
Rush and Hannity always pushed the notion that all Bush critics were leftists and all 9/11 doubters are Democrats and "black helicopter" kooks . But that is disingenous. Actually Bush's strongest critics were true conservatives, like now Obama's strongest critics are true liberals.
You mention that we have moved from bad to worse since Obama replaced W. Bush. True. But it is for the same reason that we moved from bad to worse when Bush replaced Clinton and we moved from bad to worse when Clinton replaced G.H. Bush. Every new puppet will be worse than the previous one.
Limbaugh and Hannity join the fight against Ron Paul -- a true American patriot. But they backed McCain, a traitor playing the same role to elect Obama that Gore and Kerry played to elect Bush.
Rush Limbaugh is a plant, an agent of disinformation. He works for the enemies of the American people. He is worse than the enemy: he is a traitor. He has betrayed true American conservatives.
I fully concur with your comments. We have consistently moved from bad to worse for the last several elections. Without placing any trust or hope in Rush Limbaugh or the Republican party crowd, I still believe his comments will tend to wake people up and that's a positive good.
The main point of my article though is to address and expose some of the fundamental issues that underly the problems we face today as a nation and as a people.
