"Downsize DC" Backs Ron Paul's Anti-Fed Bill Earlier this month, Ron Paul introduced H.R. 833, a bill intended to end the privately owned Federal Reserve bank's stranglehold on the American economy. Downsize DC, an anti-partisan advocacy group, has launched a campaign to promote this key legislation.by creator

Today, Downsize DC, a non-partisan organization that champions the cause of returning the federal government to its constitutional limits, sent its 24,000+ membership an announcement of a new campaign to "End the FED."
At the core of this DDC campaign is a brilliant piece of legislation introduced by the Honorable Dr. Ron Paul on February 3rd this year, House Resolution 833, designed to bring an end to the nearly one hundred year "reign of terror" of the privately owned Federal Reserve bank. The text of the legislation is simple and to the point; in a single page, H.R. 833 lays out a plan to abolish the Federal Reserve System and completely eliminate its draconian control of our economy within a brief, 18-month period.
Nolan Chart columnist Gary Wood wrote about this legislation and quoted Dr. Paul's presentation speech to congress in his article "HR 833 Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act Introduced." Downsize DC, by creating a specific campaign to support this legislation, will bring the power of its large and growing membership to bear on congress, strongly urging them to sponsor and pass this legislation.
According to http://govtrack.us/, no one else in congress has as yet signed on to co-sponsor Dr. Paul's bill. Are you personally concerned about the current downward spiral of the American economy? It has been largely, if not entirely, engendered by the reckless and inflationary actions of the Federal Reserve and pork-loving politicians. Perry Willis, Downsize DC Communications Director, had this to say today:
"You must decide how you're going to respond to this. You can either curl up in a ball and take your beating, or you can fight back. We must look to the future, to an economy free from the booms and busts caused by the Federal Reserve's legalized counterfeiting."
Are you ready to take action? You can contact your senators and your representative in congress today, strongly urging them to co-sponsor Dr. Paul's bill! Don't know how to contact them? A very easy, time-saving way is to sign up with Downsize DC. After a very short, minimally invasive registration at their website, you will thereafter be able (with just a few keystrokes!) to enter and send a single message to all three of your representatives in congress.
Downsize DC creates and manages campaigns not only to end the Federal Reserve, but other campaigns with the common cause of reducing the massively over-bloated size of the federal government that exists today. Downsize DC's amazing and free "Educate the Powerful" congressional contact system can make your time and your voice vastly more effective. Downsize DC is an organization eminently worthy of your support. Won't you please sign up with Downsize DC today? You can sign up directly on the "End the FED" campaign page (follow the "register" link,) just click here.

You know you just gotta love Jim Babka and the DownsizeDC Army!! Harry Browne left us quite a legacy and tool with this organization and they do it right. There is no better way to contact your reps short of a direct phone call. Thanks for pointing out there support for the End the Fed! Readers, while your there go to the 'Read the Bills Act' campaign...can't ask for better timing to get a message on this initiative as well!
In a letter I just received, dated February 19 of this year, my Michigan congressman thanks me for commenting on H.R. 2755 (of 2007), the Federal Reserve Abolition Act introduced by Ron Paul.
My (Republican) congressman further states that "this legislation was introduced in the 110th Congress, and to datehas not been reintroduced in the 111th Congress [italics added], which began last month. Rest assured I will keep your views in mind should this legislation come before me for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives."
Darryl, might I humbly suggest that this sounds like a golden opportunity for you to hold your congressman's feet to the fire by specifically drawing his attention to H.R. 833? :)
Gary, thanks for the reminder about the "Read The Bills Act" as well...
If congress were required to meet that simple, common-sense standard, there is NO WAY that they could have passed the recent "pork-u-lust" bills - which were all passed virtually "overnight" and over the VAST majority protestations of their constituents!
I've done just that. I've written to him, and in doing so gave him the benefit of the doubt - although I can't imagine that in 16 days or more he could have possibly been totally unaware that Rep. Paul HAD re-introduced the bill. I certainly can't help but marvel at how little we're thought of by the nanny state that they think they have to do something underhanded like this because they think they know far better than the people who elected them what's best for the country!
