Thanks, Dubya. Buh-bye now.

A thank you letter from a conservative libertarian to President Bush on the occasion of his exit from public service. And no, I did not watch his farewell address, nor will I ever.

Dear Dubya:

Don't let the door...no wait, please let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, you dismal failure. You pseudo-conservative!

Thanks for the "War on Terror," Mr. Bush. I'm glad cooler heads like yours were in charge after 9-11.  Just how does one fight a war against a tactic, sir?  Was World War II a war only against ambushes?  Was it a war on armor or infantry alone?  Absolutely not sir.  WWII was a total war agianst the all aspects of the ememy's ability to fight and exist.  Your war on terror is flawed by it's very nature, and created for the sole purpose of perpetual conflict with an unseen enemy.

Thanks for over 4000 of our people dead (more than died on 9-11) in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting an illegal, imperialistic war. A war fought not for the protection of Americans but for the protection of oil companies' and defense contractors' bottom lines. All while gas prices here skyrocket and oil companies reap record profits.  Under your administration, the Military Industrial Complex is now complete. Great job, Mr. President!

Thanks for securing our borders, Mr. Bush…no, wait, that didn’t happen.  You supported blanket amnesty for illegal aliens before 9-11.  Your administration has done nothing to secure our borders.  They are open like a sieve allowing every Tomas, Ricardo, or Muhammad to enter our country at will.  You’ve allowed cities to become sanctuaries for illegal aliens, mostly criminals and leaches with no interest in assimilating to our culture, and who burden an already stretched budget in the states were they reside (hide).

Mr. Bush, you claim to protect freedom.  But I say to you that under your administration, our freedoms have never been in more peril. Peril not from foreign enemies or terrorists, but from our government itself!  You have failed to uphold your oath, Mr. President.

Thanks for the Patriot Act, and the Department of Homeland Security where our government has effectively traded our liberty for their safety.  Hitler had the Reichstag fire, and you had 9-11. Your Nazi-sympathizing grandfather, Prescott Bush, would be proud...aren't you?

Thanks for the bankrupting of our country. Good job spending billions of dollars abroad and pushing a bailout for Wall Street with taxpayer money (perhaps the largest heist in the history of the world).  I tell you what, why not take Barney Frank and his partner, Herb Moses, with you to Texas – they can decorate your new house for you.

Thanks for killing habeas corpus with the Military Commissions Act of 2006. We didn't need that archaic right getting in the way of you protecting our freedom, now did we?

Thanks for finding Osama bin Laden...oh wait, didn’t get that done, did ya??

Thanks for alienating our nation throughout the world. Nothing makes me more proud to be an American than walking, unwittingly, into the middle of an anti-American rally in Enna, Sicily!  It never crossed my mind that I'd have to deny my nationality, telling people I was German, lest my ass get kicked by an angry mob.

Thanks for usurping the Constitution with numerous executive orders aimed at centralizing the power of the Executive, and limiting the freedom of Americans. Take THIS ONE for example.

Thanks so much for the FISA Amendment Act of 2008.  It was very patriotic of you to begin tapping the phones of Americans without warrants, then giving immunity to companies who violated the 4th amendment by releasing customers' information to your fascist regime.

Thanks for signing an executive order authorizing a PAY RAISE FOR CONGRESS during a a financial depression, and after taxpayer money was used to bail out Wall Street and the auto companies.  This while average citizens wonder if they'll have a job tomorrow.  Mr. Bush, you could have said no to that pay raise.  You could have told congress to suck it up.  This was a real opportunity for you to be a leader, albiet at the end of your term, but you failed and you should be ashamed.

Mr. Bush, it's too early to judge Barack Obama's performance (though I have a gnawing feeling it might be worse), but yours was the worst presidency in American history.

You leave behind you a weary and depressed nation.  A nation now ripe for a socialist take-over inline with the  New World Order your father spoke of.  Fear not for your legacy, sir, it is sealed.  In your eight years in office, you ignored every single tenet of the U.S. Constitution, and the oath you took to defend it.  You've hastened the death of America as a free republic.  It is because of you that a socialist/Marxist like Obama got elected, and it will be traced back to you when people ask, "What happed to the United States of America?"

Thanks a lot, Mr. Bush. Buh-bye now....

As an Academy grad, Retired U.S.Army officer, retired CA attorny and retired judge I do not want men taken in arms against U.S. Forces to have the avenue of Habeas Corpus!  That is only available to U.S. Citizens.

Further, I would like to see franc tireurs stood up against the nearest wall and shot.  Dead Muslims should be buried in a pig skin.

BTW, as a "Libertarian" why are you pretending to be a "Conservative?"

Some years ago I was discussing illegals invading this Country.  He said, "What would you do, shoot them?"  I said I have given that serious consideration, "What would you do Harry, give them monies and citizenship?"  He refused to anwer.

That says it all!

Reply to JudgeBob:

I agree habeas corpus is a right affored to American citizens, however measures taken by Bush threatened US citizens, not to mention the use of the Patriot Act and FISA against us as well.  Besides, regardless of who you are, or where you live, wouldn't you agree that at the very least, you ought to be told WHY you're under arrest, and WHAT you're being charged with?

I'm not pretending to be conservative.  I am a Conservative with strong libertarian leanings....I took the survey, and thats how it came out.  The basic tennets of conservatism ARE libertarian when you get down to nuts and bolts.

Today's mainstream "conservatives" are nothing more than liberals who've infiltrated the GOP, or sold their souls (as John McCain did) in order to reach across the aisle to kiss the asses of the democrats with more clout....hence the dismal failure of the party to generate the turnout of votes the democrates have enjoyed as of late.  Do you think I voted for McCain?  Hell no.  Did I vote for the republican incumbant for congress here in Maryland?  Hell no.  Why?  For the same reason millions of others like me refused to vote for those posers...they don't represent our views.  They're pseudo-conservatives, fakes!

Since when has the GOP been the party of war and nation building?  Since when is the GOP the party of amnesty for illegal aliens?  When did the GOP start to support spying on American citizens without warrants?  When did the GOP become whores for banks and corporations?  Simply put, the party has lost it's base, and the members know it.

I am NOT a conservative of Bush's ilk. I am not a neo-con...they are FAKE conservatives....liberal in disguise.

In response to judge bob, I am not a conservative on some issues but that doesn't mean I can't recognize that George Bush is a phony conservative.

The only prerequisite to pointing out whether someone is a true or a phony conservative is to understand what it means to be a conservative.  It does not require one to be a conservative oneself, and especially does not require one to be a conservative on all issues.

I am a conservative on some issues and a liberal on others.  I know that because I know what conservatism is and I know what liberalism is.

What do conservatives believe about military power:

First of all, they believe in having a strong military.  Secondly, they believe in using that military only when there is a very compelling case for doing so.

Bush failed the conservative test by that second criterion.  But it is not a big surprise, because Bush switched sides after 9/11.  He was a conservative before 9/11, and he became a neocon afterwards.

Neocons are phony conservatives.  They agree with conservatives on virtually nothing.

Even though I am not a conservative on all issues, I believe conservatives are a tremendously constructive force in our society.

One of the great tragedies of the Bush administration is that he has destroyed the reputation of "conservative Republicanism".

Even though he himself is neither conservative nor Republican.

No matter how bad Obama may be, he cannot possibly do as much damage to America as what George Bush has done.

And, by the way, you mentioned immigration- there's another issue where Bush is dead wrong, since he, like John McLame, supports Ted Kennedy's approach to the issue.

Hey, Paul ~

Here's a response to your comments on another article in which you wanted to indicate how interested in "learning" from your mistakes you are.  Well, you made a bunch of them!

Here is the response you asked for in Edu's article:

Paul,

Your comments are truly unnecessary.  What you contributed is hardly a revelation.  Walt and I knew what we were talking about.  But, you didn't.

On the other hand, just to accommodate you:  1) you misspelled "it's" in the second sentence, 2) you misspelled "articles" in the third sentence, 3) you need to match your tenses by using the word "impressions" to match with people in the fourth sentence, 4) you misspelled the word "what's" in the fourth sentence of the 2nd paragraph, 5) I actually think the word "superfluous" is not the proper word to use in that same sentence because I don't see any letters that are unneeded or extra in the word neighbor ~ neigh-bor ~ what's wrong with that?  6) the word "criticism" is misspelled in the third sentence of the fourth paragraph, 7) the word "took" is misspelled in the first sentence of the fifth paragraph, 8) you misspelled "criticism" again in the first sentence of the fifth paragraph.

I guess you either didn't look very well, or you just don't know any better, huh, Paul?

Master C
