Topic: Ron Paul
The 2008 Person of the Year Award goes to ... Ron Paul

According to You Tube.

Time Magazine has for almost 80 years published on the cover of their magazine's December Issue the one person whose actions and accomplishments most influenced the country and the world for that given year, with an award called the Time Magazine Person of the Year Award.

The publisher(s) for the magazine usually turn to their staff for their input to figure out who the winner should be. This year however, they decided to  enhance  their decision making process by using the opinions of the worlds Internet users and turned to the increasing popular and open public forum at You Tube.

The overwhelming response from You Tube was for none other than 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul.

Ron Paul ran on a platform of Freedom and Liberty and returning to the country that was envisioned by it's founding fathers. With his grass roots movement and Internet  support, he inspired millions of Americans and  people world wide to pull together and stand up against  out-of-control, do-as-they-please  government(s).

He was mysteriously discriminated against by the main  stream media  throughout his candidacy  and inadvertently  woke up many Americans  to the fact that they  were  being brain washed  by  what some people call  "invented news". Many people to this day still support a boycott of  Fox News as a result.

He was also the only presidential candidate that was for  an immediate withdrawal from Iraq.

Ron Paul was  forced to drop out of the race in the Fall of this year,  However his "Revolution" continues to pull  people together around the world.

Time chose not to use You Tubes choice and decided on the 2008 Democratic Candidate and now President-Elect Barack Obama instead.

Obama a previously little known Illinois senator, overcame all odds in what is still to this day a racially divided country to become the first non-Caucasian United States President. In doing so he gave hope to millions of people, mostly minorities, that they may someday actually receive equality in a world that is plagued with racial and religious discrimination. That accomplishment convinced Time that he should be their Number 1 choice this year.

Newsflash to Kipper:  Ron Paul was not forced to drop out of the race.   Before the GOP primary, Ron Paul made a deal with the devil and made an agreement with the Republican leadership that he would not seek to continue 3rd Party after his Republican presidential run.  His impact is now hardly noticed.   He chose to return to the back bench, the warm womb of the establishment.  It was just not in his belly to take the message to the people.  Now, well, now, the founding fathers have left the building.

Newsflash to Paul Farris:

 Hardly Noticed?????

Since the primaries, Ron Paul has appeared on national television literally hundreds of times providing the same consistent message of freedom and constitutional government that he asserted in the primaries.  Take almost 30 appearances on Cavuto and go from there.

As far as internet presence, try this [link edited for length] or simply google Ron Paul and wait for all the pages to load.  You might also be interested in the results from youtube.

He has also released a NY Times and Amazon.com best-selling book 'The Revolution, A Manifesto' that far outstrips any other contemporary political author in influence and circulation.

I have absolutely no idea where you get this 'deal with the devil' comment.  Do you have a reliable source for that?

Not only does Ron Paul have the stomach to take the message to the people, but he does it every day, day in day out.  Given the scathing criticism he has levelled from the 'warm womb' of his back bench over current topics, I assert that his presence reddens the faces of the establishment and regularly gladdens the hearts of his supporters.  You should watch CSPAN sometime or keep a weather eye on [link edited for length] for current speeches and appearances.

Not only have the founding fathers not left the building, they are growing in number and strength on a minute by minute basis.  Their strength and words are gathering steam through the Campaign for Liberty and other organizations worldwide.  So next time you have harsh words for a man of integrity and honor, have pause, the eyes of our founding fathers' freedom movement are upon you.

Farris is correct about the third party thing. Ron Paul had to agree to not run as a 3rd party candidate for him to get access to the republican primaries. Ron knew that this would be the best way for exposure and it was almost a no brainer for him to take the deal. It was well worth it, he has started a movement that is growing larger by the day.

Ron Paul didn't make a deal, he chose to run in the Republican Primaries so that his voice would be heard by many more people than if he had run as a libertarian or anything other than a democrat or a republican.  If you choose to ignore the message that loudly put on national stage, then you are still allowing yourself to be misled.

No deals were made by Ron Paul to run for President. It was however prohibitive for him to run for a third party in many states because those states have a provision in their laws that you may not run for the same position in office if you lose in their primaries.

As far as the person of the year goes, its too bad for Ron Paul, because he is in my mind that person, and will be for many more years to come. Time magazine, like Fox News have an agenda, and their objective is the New World Order.

Hey, I like Time and Fox News alot.  I think they are the most honest and objective media on the planet.  NWO is an idiot conspiracy theory put out by the illuminati to control fearful people.  I don't fear my fellow man, nor do I fear our government.  Americans have nothing to worry about.  If we clean up our own house, as a country, the rest of the world will take care of itself.  Like Ron Paul has said over and over again:  if we lead by example, the rest of the world will see our light!  (From 9000 ft) ... hahaha

Hey guys,

You make it sound as if Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who promised not to run for President on a Third Party ticket....I thought this was an agreement that was made between all the Rebulican candidates and the Republican Party...Someone pleae tell me if this is not correct.

You're more than welcome, daddysteve, I just wish some people would think before they write sometimes.........

Still no source for the 'deal with the devil' thingy as vshagoyan also asserts, interesting isn't it?

My sentiments mirror daddysteve's. It's also laughable to think Ron Paul's impact is "hardly noticed". Not only 'cause of the examples mentioned above, but many other notable accomplishments, ones that barely require a pulse to discover.

A link to an interesting tid-bit. Psst... it's not just L.A. either.
