The Familial Cost of rEVOLution The personal cost of standing up for a cause can be great.by DougPD

All this time I've been involved as a supporter of Ron Paul, my older brother Gordon seemed to be supportive, even mentioning he would vote for RP when I would send links, quotes, videos, articles, etc..
Then tonight, as we spoke on the phone, he stated rather emphatically, "RP is just another politician." As I tried to counter his statement, he persisted, and I ended up hanging up. THAT was MY bad.
Then to compound things I sent this email:
"After all these months I have been involved, sending links, videos and talking about him, it is readily apparent you didn't click on any links I sent, read any of my articles I wrote, watch any videos that brought tears to my eyes that I may have I mentioned, or listened at all to anything I had said about Ron Paul. You still have the attitude of APATHY, or indifference. I will refrain from here on out from sending any more related material."
Is this what happened 230 odd years ago when brothers disagreed? I am so saddened! But, I cannot in good conscience, waiver from my conviction to this cause of freedom and liberty. Is this familial conflict the cost of our rEVOLution.?
It has come time, for me at least, to find strength within myself, the resolve to carry on.
"I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!" Patrick Henry

I have one adult son, two ex-wives, and a pug. I have made it my mission to NOT be silent anymore. To be a PATRIOT. In the words of Ronald Regan, "To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but eat you he will."
When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist. When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent; I was not a social democrat. When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I did not speak out; I was not a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out. Friedrich Gustav Martin Niemöller

There is sometimes a great cost when you stand on principle, well at first it may seem like it.
When I opposed the Iraq "war" before it even began, I lost just about all my "friends." I have NEVER contacted any of them again, and they not being of any principle at all have never contcted me to say that I was right.
