Obama: what is he smoking?

My critique of Obama's cabinet choices, this is not a personal attack, but bringing their records to light.

Just to let you know before I start my critique, I voted for John McCain and would describe myself as a paleo-conservative to libertarian. Now that that's out of the way, time for the meat and potatoes. Obama's cabinet choices is starting to make me question if this country is about to go down the crapper.

Let just look as his first appointment, Rahm Emanuel. This is a man I could not trust. He's a career political operative, highly partisan, and I also heard some rumors that me might also be a Mossad agent (most likely untrue, but why take the risk). If Obama believes in the change he preaches, why appoint a dude from the establishment that represents the worst in American politics.

Also, let us not forget about the pardon-gate twosome of Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder. Without these two individuals, Mark Rich, Edgar and Vonna Jo Gregory, Almon Glenn Braswell, Carlos Vignali and others would either be in prison or still in exile. Hillary got the money and Eric supposedly investigated their worthiness for a pardon. Both of these individuals are ethically challenged, and now one is the nation's top cop and the other is the country's chief diplomat. So, where is the change Obama is talking about

Bill Richardson, what can I say. He lost nuclear secrets on his watch as Energy Secretary. Can we really trust him with the Commerce Department?

Finally, the worst of the worst, Janet Napolitano. She is going to be Secretary of Homeland Security...WHY????? Her record on enforcing both state and federal illegal-immigration laws is pathetic. One minute she'll say she will do something and then not do it. Such an individual shouldn't even be considered for the position.

Dear Joe,

Rahm Emanuel is an EXCELLENT choice.  The Chief of Staff is like a bodyguard, not a diplomat.  He limits access to the President.  You don't want Mr. Nice Guy to be the one standing at that door to WalMart on the day after Thanksgiving ~ you want Rahmbo!

You're blaming the messenger for the message when you blame Eric Holder for pardons.  It was BILL Clinton who decided and granted the pardons not Eric OR Hillary.  Obama needs a strong, competent black person in his cabinet, and this is a man who can mix it up with anyone.  Knife fights or basketball anyone?  Another GREAT CHOICE.

Hillary is a superb choice for Secretary of State.  She's TOUGH and she's SMART.  She's as good a politician as has EVER been Secretary of State.  She's unafraid to TALK with any world leaders, not like that Bush butt-kisser, Condi Rice.  Hillary could actually intervene in world matters and bring about some results.  I'll bet she can even make Ahmadinijad shiver in his boots!  SUPERB CHOICE!

Bill Richardson has a sense of humor, a sense of urgency, and a sensibility about him that gives Hispanics someone to look up to.  He will also be important in the immigration battles.  He even speaks Spanish!  Great choice!

Janet Napolitano is cautious, introspective, and unspectacular ~ just what we need in Homeland Security.  She's like that ugly-duckling sister who isn't going to steal your husband, but she can bake a great pie!  She'll get the job done without all the HYSTERIA that the Bush administration gave us ~ fear lurking around every corner.

Combining these people with Joe Biden (my original choice for President; a strong, experienced, imaginative, and perceptive politician), Paul Volker (has weathered troubled waters before; steady and fearless), Bob Gates has brought stability and reason back to the Department of Defense, making Jim Jones National Security Advisor and making it a cabinet level position again was a stroke of genius, Robert Gibbs as Press Secretary will open the doors of government not slam them shut like that string of prison guards Bush had, and Tim Geithner as Secretary of Treasury, who is skeptical of Henry Paulson's bailout efforts so far, will be an EXCELLENT cabinet choice.  He knows Wall Street as well as Main Street.

I think your criticisms reflect your own bad judgment.  After all, you've admitted to being a MCCAIN man.  That means you went along with PALIN, too.  Could there have been a more pitiful tandum of dullards?  They called themselves "mavericks" but they weren't much more than "ranch hands".

I agree on the premise and an all fronts. Especially Richardson who did nothing as the energy secretary under Clinton. He is the problem and Obama has the gull to say he is for change.

Bringing back all these people represent more of the same.

The only disagreement I have with you is that although I believe Rahm Emanuel is a bad choice simply because he is hard nose and very partisan which means he will not be reaching across the aisle so to speak in his daily dealings. Very bad choice again for Obama as he un masks himself as not being an agent of change.

However, please do not fal into the anti semitic trap of callig Rahm Emanuel a bad choice simply because he is a Jew who is pro -Israel . He soes not hide this and one should not call him or give any legitimace to the racists that call him a mossad agent or anything like that.  Please don't be an anti-semite .

so many anti-semites in third parties, glad they are the minorities.

There is nothing wrong with being a zionist, all it means you are pro -israel. It doesn't mean you are against anyone because you support Israel's right to exist.

And Daddy Steve this is a jew telling you that the worst kind of anti-semite  is a self hating jew such as yourself

I'd think that Obama would get rid of the Department of Homeland Security rather than continue what was a product of the War on Terrorism that should be ended ASAP.
