Why Not Obama? A Fifteen Word Answer from a Ron Paul Freedom Writer Why not Barack Obamaby John Armstrong

Here's the comment from my most recent article:
Dear John,
For those who want to climb on a BANDWAGON that's going somewhere, vote for BARACK OBAMA.
Look at thesequalities and you will see how prepared he is for whatever difficulties we encounter:
1) Barack Obamais a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review. He also taught CONSTITUTIONAL LAW at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. His educational credentials are superior and his judgment is sound.
2) Barack Obama has been scrutinized by magazines, newspapers, radio and tv commentators, other candidates, his opposition, political blogs, and the news media for more than 21 months. Books have been written both about him and by him, innumerable articles and feature stories have covered every aspect of his life and his family so that he has been thoroughly analyzed, discussed, and investigated.
3) Barack Obama has been in 29 national debates, televised and broadcast by very capable questioners, he toured all 50 states and several special provinces as he went through 53 primary elections so that his views on every issue that someone wanted to question him about were analyzed, discussed, and evaluated.
4) Barack Obama has put forth very detailed, comprehensive, specific programs on 26 different subjects from energy to poverty to the (so-called) war in Iraq. He discusses each program in detail, and spells out how it will be funded on his website.
5) Barack Obama has attracted and recruited very highly-respected and capable people to assist him in running for office and to serve in his administration when he is elected. These are people with a great depth of understanding and expertise about every subject that he will face as President, both men and women.
6) Barack Obama has energized new and traditional voters to contribute more money to his campaign than any politician in history, which indicatestheir support, confidence, and desire to have him serve as our chief executive.
7) Barack Obama has met with foreign leaders, military leaders, business professionals, and Congressional leaders about our country's most troubling problems. He has discussed these issues with them, and offered his opinions as to how to improve them.
8) Barack Obama, as a member of the US Senate, has had to review spending priorities, budget allocations, and government policies for every kind of national issue from healthcare to bank reform to the (so-called) war in Iraq.
And, perhaps even more important than these other items,
9) Barack Obama has NOT voted or supported themisguided positions of the rabid Republican right regarding such issues as abortion, gay rights, stem cell research, original intent of Supreme Court justices, and the (so-called) war in Iraq.
I know that these points won't make ONE BIT OF DIFFERENCE to someone who is already against Obama for other reasons ~ perhaps racial, perhaps envy, perhaps bitterness about the failure of your own candidate to have a chance in the election ~ but Obama isbetter EDUCATED, better SPOKEN, better INFORMED, better off FINANCIALLY, and better SUPPORTED by other people thanany other candidate. He has LOTS of experience, he's been throughLOTS of scrutiny, and he hasLOTS of answers.
Vote for BARACK OBAMA! The RIGHT MAN forTHIS TIME in our nation's history.
Here's the fifteen word response:
What does any of this have to do with preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution?

As the author of the nine points that you cut and pasted to your article, I would have to say that anyone who can't see what these points have to do with preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution you'd have to have your head in the sand like an Ostrich. Is that why you can't see the relationship?
The Constitution is a document that requires, not just the President, but politicians, judges, practicing lawyers, and citizens across America to live and believe in its standards. When it is denigrated by accusations that those who constitutionally see a need for changes or adjustments in the interpretation of its meaning are corrupting its principles or intent, they are as responsible for NOT SUPPORTING the Constitution as those whom they criticize.
Reinterpreting the Constitution in a world of cell phones, the internet, automobiles, airplanes, and electricity is something the Founding Fathers (who were ALL white, aristocratic men only) never had the opportunity to do. Certainly their opinions would have differed had a BLACK MAN been President, or WOMEN had been sitting on the Supreme Court or running LARGE CORPORATIONS, or GAY PEOPLE had been able to come out of the closet.
We no longer need GUNS strapped on our hips, or HORSES to get us from place to place; we have running water, heating and cooling in our homes and offices, sewage systems and an impressive system of highways and skyways. The role of GOVERNMENT is now one of PROVIDER and PROTECTOR for many services and rights; and it is our courts, jails, prisons, police, fire, military, and transportation systems that need TAXES and SUPPORT to keep them running efficiently.
For anyone who fails to see the relationship between having a BLACK MAN as our President and the vindication, support, and protection of the Constitution, they must still see WHITE BREAD as the staple of their diets. You ought to try some WHOLE WHEAT or PUMPERNICKEL sometime. They're tasty breads!
The biggest reasons I dont like Obama is because of his tax and fiscal policies. They will do no good the the American worker. I could cae less what skin color he is, I was hoping at the begining of the election that Colin Powell was going to run but whatever. As for stem cell research and gay rights I support both those issues but Obama has constantly flip flopped on those as well. In regards to abortion Obama represents the left extreme on the issue while Palin represent the right extreme. I could care less what religion Obama is, to me its irrelvant the man does not represent my views on what a president should be and for the record neither does McCain.
As for the government being of provider and our protector, the government should only protector the rights of its citizens in regards of others infringing on them. Its not the governments job to provide everything to the people.
Oh and before you spout that Im a racist or whatever, Im a Latino.
The biggest mistake Libertarians make, in my opinion, is in JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS that aren't accurate!
I've read so many comments about "we don't want the government providing EVERYTHING to the people", "we don't want the government taking ALL our guns", "we don't want the government IGNORING the Constitution", "we don't want to pay TAXES for freeloaders", blah, blah, blah.
It's such a whining, crybaby tantrum of INACCURACIES that, of course you don't like GOVERNMENT. It's because the GOVERNMENT you're talking about DOESN'T EXIST!
No government ~ anywhere that I'm aware of ~ provides EVERYTHING for EVERYBODY. But, those governments who HELP and ASSIST the people who need it are the kind we want. To provide HEALTHCARE for EVERYONE is a GOOD THING. Those who want to see that PROFIT METER running next to every hospital bed and ambulance in America, or want to hear that "sorry, you're not covered" excuse, are going to see LAWYERS lurking on every street corner to contest anything that isn't covered. And, those who won't give at least EQUAL rights to GAYS and LEGAL IMMIGRANTS (Latinos included) are BIGOTS in my opinion.
And, those who use ANY EXCUSE they can come up with ~ he wants to TAX EVERYONE and SOCIALIZE AMERICA and SURRENDER in Iraq, and whatever else you can come up with ~ when it's REALLY a RACIAL issue, should rethink your sense of freedom and history.
It was only a little over 40 years ago that the Voting Rights Act was passed. It was only a little more than 80 years ago when women were given the right to vote. And, it was only a couple hundred years ago when SLAVERY swarmed through America like a warm and cuddly blanket.
If you are realistic and truthful, you'll see that Barack Obama is well-educated, is thoughtful and courageous, and has pulled himself up to a status that EXCEEDS anything GW Bush ever achieved. Bush was (is) a bigot, a racist, imposes his religious views on the rest of us, won't compromise, interprets the law the way he wants to, and carries that Texas swagger with him everywhere he goes.

Have you ever studied history? Most LIBERTARIANS have and understand the truth of it and not the propoganda of it. Youtube Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo, economist, historian, academic, author.
Until you have even an inkling of economic/social theory and the history of said, you will have a hard time finding credibility here.
If you think Obama will end the war and the profits of the Military Industrial Complex that fuel it you sir are the ostrich

Master C-You have such a long way to go...
"

What you don\'t understand, is that besides slavery and some issues with women, our founding fathers were from a philosophical standpoint PROTECTORS of the people by putting some simple philosophies in the constitution to PROTECT citizens. No we all don\'t ride around on horses with guns now, but taking away a form of self defense of americans is taking away a sense of security and a way for people to defend themselves against the tyranny of government. So why is it a big deal to keep guns legal if the citizens aren\'t a threat to their government? People will always die by murder or accident and outlawing guns isn\'t going to help. Our founding fathers, some former "elitists" ( I put quotes on that because people like to use the term that the elite run this country, while they do not in reality) put that piece of paper into place to naturally protect citizens and make it a land of the free. Man is supposed to be independent and evolve freely as he chooses in many ways, and in many ways we are being manipulated as a general society not to, but that\'s not completely their fault, it\'s also people like you that choose to not broaden their perspectives and fight and vote for the same politicians that keep fucking this country up. Why do you want the government to be our provider and protecter? YOU, as a citizen of ANY place in the world are supposed to be able to GOVERN AND PROTECT YOURSELF; that\'s why this country wasy built sir,not the other way around. It\'s this kind of ignorant thinking that got us here in the first place, with people that you hardly know anything about making all decisions for you. We are run through the education system without necessary topics like philosophy and more about form of government because the people that run this country don\'t want you to be capable of governing yourself, they would rather you be just smart enough to fill out a bunch of paperwork but not smart enough to sit down at night and realize how badly you are being screwed over, as the late George Carlin says. So what in the hell does running water and heating in your homes have to do with political issues right now? That\'s technology, not politics! Why should we reinterpret the constitution nowadays? For what? We don\'t do it for the better, we do it for the worse. Why in a world of cell phones and so on should we reinterpret it? Let me give you a little hint, our GDP of net exports in 1960 was 20bil, as of 2005 it was -767 billion and growing...we have 10 trillion dollars worth of debt and 50 in entitlements, so don\'t be surprised if it\'s America a.k.a china a.k.a. and so forth one day within your lifetime. Learn more about how a country is supposed to balance trade to keep their wealth, and you will learn what I am talking about, neither Barack Obama or John McCain will help that situation out, a situation that we are in dire need of, or the shit can very possibly hit the fan. How about learning about economic sanctions and such; and how McCain wants to make it harder for us to freely trade. Then learn about how Obama wants to (slightly) help our trade system; but spend money in other areas like an 18 year old fresh out of their parents house with 5,000 in the bank. In other words, not responsibly. What you should do is learn about his flaws on civil liberties, his flaws on energy plans, his flaws on educational plans, his flaws on taxing etc. etc...there are better ways to do all of the above things mentioned and if you don\'t think so you have lost hope in your ability to be objective. An intelligent monkey could probably write down a better tax plan if given the chance. I think my border collie could do so if he had opposable thumbs. The other thing is, there are MUCH, MUCH bigger issues in this country than the issues discussed, the main being the Federal Reserve...every dollar ever created from the reserve has been loaned WITH interest...we never needed to have the Federal Reserve do this, we could have done this through our own government with NO interest up until this date from the date about 100 years ago, and it\'s one of if not the largest problem in our economy as we speak; am I starting to get through to you? I sure do hope so. The rest is up for you to learn.

Master C,
I'm glad you're writing here now. You write crisply and eloquently. That suggest that you have a sharp mind. If that is indeed what you possess, I have no doubt that you will become a part of the C4L before you know it.
You make all of this so complicated. You're right--the Constitution does need to be "updated" in some aspects. And the founders knew those "updates" would be necessary. That's why they included a way for it to be "updated." It's called an Amendment (which means "Change", a word I'm sure you're familiar with).
I'm going to write an article in the not too distant future about the relevancy of the Constitution. I appreciate your bringing up these points though, because I do believe that how you feel is far more in line with the way mainstream America feels than the way I do. Learning to help people like you,who are brave enough to challenge our thoughts and writings, understand how simple this whole freedom/government thing really is will ultimately help spread the message to masses.
Thank you for supporting the C4L today with your disagreements and tomorrow with your mind and words.
I think a lot more people here would actually take you seriously(I know I don't) if perhaps you tried using neutral language instead of insulting the people that write the articles. To me, that instantly screams you are immature and should not be treated as an actual adult with real ideas.
I think its good for you to leave a different opinion, but please try to do so in a much more polite way. It's completely unneccessary and only reflects poorly on you, and henceforth, on what you have to say.
