Topic: Barack Obama
Is Obama Ready to Run America?

Obama lacks the qualifications to be employed as a low-level small business manager. How can he possibly be considered for president of the United States?

Go to Barack Obama's web site. Check him out before you vote. Ask yourself whether anything you find on his web site would indicate that he's qualified for the job. In fact, ask yourself whether you would hire him to run a convenience store. Be fair; imagine that you own the store, and he is an applicant for manager.

He's qualified to be a lawyer, but we have more than enough of those in this country. He's qualified to be a collectivist agitator, but we're overstocked on those, too. As for stocking, could he replenish the shelves? Could he take inventory? Could he create a work schedule or manage the employees? Could he do the payroll? Could he even operate the cash register? To do any of these things, he would need to consult with one of the senior convenience store employees.

Clearly, Barack Obama is not minimally qualified to run even the most basic small business. No reasonable person would hire him to run a convenience store or a taco stand or a print shop.

That the Democratic Party has offered him as their choice to run America ought to be offensive to any thinking person.

Did you get your job by unsupported assertions about your capabilities, or did you offer evidence of relevant training and relevant experience? Did you competently perform in a succession of more and more complex assignments? Or did you just claim to be the agent of change and gloss over the fact that you were without the requisite education and experience? Did you merely claim to have been present at former positions, or were you able to demonstrate ability?

What experience can Obama offer that he is competent to be president? Did he perform well as mayor of his hometown? Did he work his way up to state government or did he just go for a ride on a corrupt political machine? Does he have a record of achievement? Can he offer evidence of successively greater and greater real responsibilities?

Does he have military experience that he could offer as qualification to be commander-in-chief? Does he have experience in the defense industry that he could offer? Could he even get a security clearance?

Does he have any business experience - produce manager, for instance? Never mind his assertions that he is the agent of change. Can he make change? Does he have any skills whatsoever, other than self-promotion?

Barack Obama couldn't get a job as a low-level manager at IBM or Ford or Hewlett Packard. Those companies didn't get to be industry giants by hiring people without skills. If Obama were applying for a position at a convenience store, he would start by managing a broom and dustpan.

We're all familiar with the office blowhard: the person who talked his way into a position he can't handle. Take a hard look at Obama's experience, and ask yourself whether you would trust him to manage any enterprise in which you had a financial interest. Then consider your financial interest in the United States. Consider your personal interest, too.

Good teeth, good posture, some slick lines and colossal ego are the stock in trade of too many politicians. Obama has these things in abundance, and that's about all there is to him.

Obama's life experience is limited to lawyer, collectivist agitator and political aspirant. In what bizarre world would someone like this be entrusted with the most powerful military force on the face of the earth and nearly three trillion dollars of budget? Has the country gone entirely mad?

Are we living in a Kafka novel?

You are totally right. He has no real executive experience and I would hire to manage any business of mine.

But in the democratic process that is not how you get the job. It is one flaw of the system. The Presidency is given to whomever manages to get the most people to vote for him. So this is really a marketing, sales and acting job. The qualifications are irrelevant to get the job.

Thats why you don't get CEO's to be elected by the employees and the reason for which the private sector is more efficient.

Dear Phil,

Just so that you don't miss the obvious, here are some points to consider:

1) Barack Obama has been scrutinized by magazines, newspapers, radio and tv commentators, other candidates, his opposition, political blogs, and the news media for more than 21 months.  Books have been written both about him and by him, innumerable articles and feature stories have covered every aspect of his life – and his family – so that he has been thoroughly analyzed, discussed, and investigated.

 2) Barack Obama has been in 29 national debates, televised and broadcast by very capable questioners, he toured all 50 states and several special provinces as he went through 53 primary elections so that his views on every issue that someone wanted to question him about were analyzed, discussed, and evaluated.

3) Barack Obama has put forth very detailed, comprehensive, specific programs on 26 different subjects from energy to poverty to the (so-called) war in Iraq.  He discusses each program in detail, and spells out how it will be funded on his website.

4) Barack Obama has attracted and recruited very highly-respected and capable people to assist him in running for office and to serve in his administration when he is elected.  These are people with a great depth of understanding and expertise about every subject that he will face as President, both men and women.

5) Barack Obama has energized new and traditional voters to contribute more money to his campaign than any politician in history, which indicates their support, confidence, and desire to have him serve as our chief executive.

6) Barack Obama has met with foreign leaders, military leaders, business professionals, and Congressional leaders about our country’s most troubling problems.  He has discussed these issues with them, and offered his opinions as to how to improve them.

7) Barack Obama, as a member of the US Senate, has had to review spending priorities, budget allocations, and government policies for every kind of national issue from healthcare to bank reform to the (so-called) war in Iraq.

And, perhaps even more important than these other items,

8) Barack Obama has NOT voted or supported the moronic positions of the rabid Republican right regarding such issues as abortion, gay rights, stem cell research, original intent of Supreme Court justices, and the (so-called) war in Iraq.

I know that these points won't make ONE BIT OF DIFFERENCE to a white slave owner like you who wants to whip away on this black man who is better EDUCATED, better SPOKEN, better INFORMED, better off FINANCIALLY, and better SUPPORTED by other people than YOU will EVER BE.

Why don't you face up to facts?  He's got a LOT of experience, he's been through a LOT of scrutiny, and he has a LOT of answers.  You just choose to ignore the obvious.
