SPOOF: Ron Paul Promises To Return When Country Needs Him Most As the McBama presidential "race" nears its thrilling conclusion, I follow a Ron Paul spoof from TheOnion.com with a serious question. Who will lead the Revolution next?by Jake Towne, the Champion of the Constitution

As can be seen in many of my past and upcoming articles, it is a little tough to get good unbiased news these days. For instance, most people still think corporate giants General Electric and Microsoft make jet engines, light bulbs and Windows, not run NBC and MSNBC (you get one guess as to where the MS came from).
In desperation for some actual news, I find myself relying more and more on www.TheOnion.com, which I suppose is a little silly since everything they publish is simply not true. Perhaps there is not much difference between them and Mainstream Media, after all! Check out the below and then I have a question for you.
"WASHINGTON—After piling the last of his Campaign for Liberty signs in the back of a beat-up Ford truck Thursday, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) once again abandoned his candidacy for president and rode on out toward the low western sun, but not before vowing to come back to Washington "when [the country] is ready." "When the river swirls and the wind blows, and when uncontrollable inflation forces us to revert to the gold standard, and the Federal Reserve bank is exposed as the unconstitutional, neofascist cabal it really is, you'll see me coming over that hill," said Paul, leaving a dusty cowboy hat and a stack of "no" votes on his seat in the House of Representatives. "But don't you fret, America. If you ever feel like your government is getting too big or too intrusive, just give a little whistle, and there I'll be. I'll be there quicker'n you can spit." Although no one has seen or heard from the Texas congressman since Thursday, sources report the Ron Paul for President campaign has gained an additional $2.3 million in contributions since his disappearance." Although I think The Onion got the Texas accent wrong, it was at least a little amusing right? See what you think after another year passes in McCainistan or Obamaland.
I think most people in the Revolution are grateful to Ron Paul for spreading his ideas. Although I can claim to have had the original thought of just bringing our troops home from Iraq before I ever even heard of the Revolution, it was amazing for me to hear a politician Dr. Paul say not just this, but a lot more. Over time, thinking this way was enough for me to overcome my disgust with politics and start writing this column here in February.
So my question is this: Who else will help lead the Revolution in the coming years? My main concern is that the message of liberty will not be distorted by bickering people like Bob Barr, whom fellow columnist Jonathan Cymberknopf sums up here and groups like this one that fellow columnist George Dance describes here "Trouble in Boston Tea Paradise." I think all of us in the movement should be thrilled to have a (politically-speaking) purist like Ron Paul as our rallying point. In my humble opinion, one strength of Dr. Paul is that he is not only ideal and true to his principles but that he is very realistic with his actions and with what he wants to achieve.
My own answer to my question is horribly cliche, but it is myself. In February when I started writing this column I decided to steal Paul's self-styled "Champion of the Constitution" title for myself - funnily enough I remembered thinking at the time that at least a few others would start copying it too, but no one else really has to my knowledge. Not sure how great of a job I have been doing, but I enjoy and learn a lot by writing here, so do not expect this column to stop after November 4th. Do not even expect me to stop after my freedom of speech is stripped away. [Oh and in case you care per my news sources the election was already decided in 2007, check this out.]

Police State Stomps on Iraq Veteran's Face as McBama Sanctions Attack on Freedom of Speech: The Story of the Hempstead 15 (Part 1/2) Published: October 25, 2008 What? Yet another event the media completely missed? After multiple attempts to engage McBama to answer their questions, the Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) led a peaceful march on the last McCain-Obama Presidential Debate and were met with 30 mounted police and a horde of others in riot gear. The mounted police stamped on an Iraq war veteran's face and attacked the crowd. Ron Paul supporter and veteran Adam Kokesh was arrested as well.

Dear Carol - Last time I checked I can still bicker, bicker all I want, but I get your point, thanks for the comment. Forget all that bickering and check this out. Hope you understand what I mean. Peace.
Have you heard of B.J. Lawson? He's a candidate for representative that Ron Paul has endorsed and is supporting. From the limited amount of research I've done, he seems to be a good prospect.
Cute story, with a serious moral. I enjoyed reading it. And thanks for the link. In return, here's something you might enjoy that I found on the Western Standard today. (Yeah, they get Dr. Paul's accent wrong, too, but there's a reason ...)

Jake-keep up the great work. It's been awesome to see you continue to grow as a writer and defender of liberty. Congrats on your marathon as well. That kind of determination is what we need to continue to lead the revolutuon.
And you will continue it. As will I. I am fortunate enough to lead a rather large group of freedom loving, successful, articulate, young people. These are the future candidates, fundraisers, and idea spreaders throughout our country. I don't write here as much as I did, but I still read and think of things to write. The message is always on my mind.
The people left after Nov 4 are the ppl who understand what's at stake isn't merely a presidential election. The time is rapidly approaching when totalitarianism or freedom will be a clear choice. You will be at the forefront along w the people you inspire with your words.
In a bathroom cave in a South African prison an idea was formed-'each one, teach one.' That principle applies here as well. Thank you for teaching.

John - thanks for the kind words, with my limited brainpower and time, I've been trying to improve. Right now main criticism is I am too boring/too long. However to write in sound bites, which I could do, just does feel right. Have been trying to adapt though.
Be curious to hear more about your group. If you have never heard of Mr. Lips, keep an eye out for an article about him. There is the political revolution, and then there is the gold revolution.
