Vote for McCain? Here's my price.

In order to gain my vote for his election as President of the United States, there is only one thing I require of John McCain

All I want is for him to announce that his choice for Secretary of the US Treasury is Ron Paul. The same Ron Paul who will immediately want to know why we need a Federal Reserve Board to provide us with paper coupons in place of real money (gold and silver). The same Ron Paul who for decades has repeatedly warned all of us of the dangers of issuing fiat currency and inflating that currency at staggering rates. The same Ron Paul who has consistently resisted any legislation not related to reducing or eliminating the powers of the Federal Reserve Board or government interference in the marketplace.

That is my price.

Because I know that my price is so high that it will never be paid by either of the so-called mainstream candidates, I am completely comfortable in naming it.

You're right about the odds of this happening. Sanity has NO place in an election year.

Right now, the only reason I see for voting for John McCain, is because a McCain administration will save at least one job in this economy.

Tina Fae's role on SNL.

Dear Larry,

You make it sound like the Secretary of the Treasury is a Czar of some kind.  In order to change the Federal Reserve, Congress has to do that.  I guess you forgot about a little thing called the Constitution in that Libertarian zeal of yours.

Got to follow the law, my man.

Personally, I'd like to see Ron Paul as Librarian of the Library of Congress so that he can read up on all the SUCCESSFUL people who have run for office.

Ah, Master C.  So glad you could make it.  Why do I feel like Mr. Hyde just walked into the room?

Unlike you, sir, I haven't forgotten the constitution at all.  It is a function of the Secretary of the Treasury to gather information and make policy recommendations to both the legislative and executive branches.  It is another function to see to it that those policies are carried out.  Putting Dr. Paul in such a position would raise the profile of the hard questions he would ask and garner a wider audience for the cause of constitutional government in general.

We might even hear a word or two from the mainstream media on the subject.  Imagine that!

Also, I would say that anyone who could earn an MD, work in the field for many years and then start a Congressional career spanning another 30 years is a success, would you not?  If not, then please grace me with what you would consider a success.  I'm just dying to know..........
