What will be the legacy of this bailout vote? Many members in congress described this as a "legacy vote". The question is - what will be the legacy?by Sematary

Members of Congress described the bailout bill as a "legacy vote". But what is the legacy? I already apologized to my children for my generation's destruction of their future. What else could I do? Congress just guaranteed that the recession we are in will not only continue but will get worse and possibly become a depression. See what Ron Paul had to say on this just prior to the vote:

Ron Paul, who correctly foresaw this disaster developing years ago said in no uncertain terms that Congress, by voting for this bailout would "guarantee a depression". Ron Paul has proven himself to be a GENIUS when it comes to economics and has correctly foreseen much of what is occurring and I have no reason to not believe that he is right now. I suggest stocking up on canned vegetables and meats and water and other necessities. I also recommend finding a generator, saving some gasoline for future use and stocking up on ammo as well (if you own a weapon).
So what will be the legacy? If Ron Paul is to be believed - the second Great Depression and I have no reason not to believe him. That will be the legacy our "leaders" have left us from this Congress.

It depends on how smart the American people are. If the people are smart enough to realize who shot them then the legacy for the politicians who voted yes will be a new career, picking up garbage maybe. But I'm not sure the people are that smart. The last time the country went broke the people bought into the socialist line and elected FDR, 4 times.
