Supreme Indifference: Resitance is Futile No matter who wins this year's presidential election, pro-life voters are going to lose.by Billy Joe

Every four years the Republican national leadership demonstrates its contempt for conservatives by making the same tired argument: We know that the Presidential nominee of our party is not conservative, but if you don't elect him, the Democrats will get to appoint liberal Supreme Court justices. The problem with this argument is that the appointees the Republicans nominate aren't conservative either. Pro-life voters are starting to see that nobody really represents them in Washington.
Seven of Nine Supreme Court Justices were appointed by Republican presidents. Only two (Ginsburg and Breyer) were appointed by Clinton. Yet for all this lopsided court packing, Roe v. Wade still stands and abortion on demand is the law of the land.
When is the Republican base going to wake up and realize that their party leadership ignores their wishes and takes their votes for granted? John McCain muzzled the anti-abortion groups with his McCain-Feingold "campaign finance reform" legislation. The regulation doesn't allow pro-life groups to publish the abortion voting record of candidates and so amounts to a curb on the free speech of groups that were starting to have a noticeable impact on the debate.
Those who advocate abortion bans are going to lose no matter who gets elected President this year. Resistance is futile. You have a minimum of four years in the wilderness, but if McCain gets elected it will be longer because the GOP leadership will think that they can keep ignoring the pro-life wing of the party without consequences. Pro-life voters should vote for Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin or stay home this year if they ever want to be taken seriously.
Senator McCain voted to confirm the Clinton pro-choice nominees Ginsberg and Breyer. Don't be fooled by his pro-choice pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for Vice Presidential running mate. That fortunate development makes it more important than ever for the GOP ticket to lose this year. With Palin's popularity, she will likely be the GOP presidential frontrunner in four years if Johnny Mack loses this time but impotent second fiddle in his re-election bid if he wins.
