What is the most dangerous threat to America? Its in our own country, not the Middle East. by The Arkitekt

Warning: This article is going to deal with issues upon which people tend to have WILDLY differing opinions. I will try to present the issue in the most straightforward way I can, therefore, to reduce any opinionated arguments to the facts which I am about to present.
Current U.S. outstanding public debt, as of the sixth of December, 2007: 9,165,262,459,041.86 (brillig.com/debt_clock). That is NINETRILLION dollars. Even worse, current expenditure obligations, out to a span of twenty years, is estimated at nearly FIFTY TRILLION more.
The current US Gross Domestic Product is at 13.1947 Trillion dollars (Bureau of Economic Analysis). That means that we, as the wonderful and great (I truly believe that) nation of the United States of America, only produce barely over four trillion dollars each year over that which we owe. The public debt will increase this year, at current spending, of over 550 billion dollars. GDP only rose by 760.8 billion dollars this last year. Conclusion: The debt figure, which does NOT include all of what America owes, is rising at nearly the same rate as our economy is growing. Now for the knock-out...
If we were to continue our current government expenditures on programs such as Medicare, Welfare, and the such, without creating any new ones (yeah right), we would have to shell out another 48 TRILLION dollars (mwhodges.home.att.net/nat-debt/debt-nat). Current figures, according to the Competitive Enterprise Institute, is that the world economy is worth around 60 trillion dollars. Thus, our current debt plus our current expenditures equals all the money in the entire world.
Now, somebody, please, tell all of us how Islamic Terrorists, or even Iran with a nuke, requires our attention more than the above. Somebody, please, tell me how they can justify "defending freedom" abroad, while ignoring this threat to our freedom at home. Somebody, pleas, tell each and every one of us here what will happen if nations around the globe decide that it is no longer worth it for them to accept our dollar, due to our rampant abuse of it, and destruction of its value. Where will we be then?
If you went outside to put out a fire on your fence, and noticed your home was on fire also, would you not go back inside to put the fire out? Would that not be a good idea, even if it meant letting the fence burn to the ground. What is more valuable, your fence or your home?
All of the major candidates, each and every single one of them, are focused on the burning fence. Only Ron Paul has even NOTICED the fire in our own homes. Only Ron Paul is willing to do what it takes to protect his family: you and me.

Good for you. You have the power to help in the cause of freedom and you responded. Keep up the good work and keep the information flowing . Here in Missouri, a small group of us are rolling our change (no kidding) to open a Ron Paul office. $400 a month rent, $200-$300 utilities and phones/internet. Money is tight at our homes, but we will do whatever it takes to help our nation. Of course, we also have a lot of volunteers who have donated to the RP campaign and to the blimp and so on. Today, Dec 13th, is my bday, and my wife asked me what I wanted. I said I wanted to go to Iowa to work in the Caucus to help Dr. Paul. His win there would be the best Bday present ever.
