Who is "Anonymous"? Scientology tells more lies.

Who is "Anonymous"? The Scientology cult takes great pains to misrepresent Anonymous as a bunch of sociopathic teenage hackers on steroids. Like most of Scientology's PR, this is a false representation.

It is true that earlier this year, the Anonymous movement to systematically dismantle the Scientology criminal organization began in online chat-imageboards such as 4chan, where outrageous behavior and commentary is common. Everyone there posts as Anonymous (i.e. names are not used). Much of the time what goes on there is full of silliness and fun (the "LOLcat" craze began on 4chan); sometimes there are activities that benefit society (kids on 4chan arranged the capture of a Canadian online pedophile); but sometimes there is much that would offend any reasonable person, as users push the limits of free speech, and even use forbidden speech (e.g. the N-word) to obliterate the false racist and homophobic categories that society keeps handing down. For example, among this community "fag" or "faggot" are now terms with a meaning like "buddy." In mid-January, some of these kids began the "Project Chanology" movement to take down Scientology, first through computer "DDOS" attacks, but very soon changing to only peaceful means.

It should be noted, too, that very few of the millions of 4chan or other *chan users were involved in the Chanology movement at all.

Fast-forward to September. Thousands of people from around the world, of all ages and races and religious beliefs, from all walks of life, have joined the movement, taking part in activism to make the Scientology organization accountable for its immoral and illegal actions. Nearly all of them are "Anonymous." Why?

According to Scientology's Fair Game policy, a critic of the cult "May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed." This was an official decree from Scientology's founder, L. Ron Hubbard. Scientologists always claim that this policy was repealed in 1968, but the fact is that only the name "Fair Game" was repealed: "It causes bad public relations." The policy itself was explicitly not cancelled. And, indeed, there are many thousands of documented "fair game" incidents in which Scientology has practiced fair game against its critics, from simply spreading "black PR" (lies) about a critic to his or her employer, landlord, friends, etc., to killing someone's dog, to suing them into bankruptcy, to filing false police reports and committing perjury in order to put a critic in jail, and much more.

It is simply not safe, if you are a critic of Scientology, to let your name be known. That is why the current movement to stop Scientology's abuses is called "Anonymous." It is also why most of Anonymous wears masks. Sure, there are still some wild *chan kids involved, but the vast majority of Anonymous are people like you and me, in countries around the world; like your colleague at work; like your next door neighbour; like your mom; like any normal person in any normal life. Anonymous might even be you.

Troll: is someone who posts controversial and irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion" WP. Tom Newton stalks critics and posts their pics to his blog. Not like any of this behavior is unexpected...suppressive people in their eyes are to be tricked, sued, lied to, and destroyed. They don't have many names, so they're attacking the collective with black PR.

Are there any other sci-fi writers out there with their own cults??  I wouldn't mind comparing them...

Use your Google-Fu and type in "Rehabilitation Project Force."  How many churches have their own prison camps for those that they think might be SPs???  Run while you still can...................

"Fair Game" simply means following Scientology's "Code of Ethics," i.e.:

"Never fear to HURT ANOTHER in a just cause."
