Media Mockery: We Make Up the News You Want to Hear!

CNN, called-out on its sexist smears, has now stooped to a new low: scaring the voters by focusing on Sarah Palin's religious views. They invaded her church to scare voters, and in the end her record as Governor upholds the Constitution. Whatever happened to no religious tests for office?

The sexism of the media is now known world-wide. What really irks me is that now, being called-out, many "news" organizations have decided to "report" on bizarre stories to scare American voters. FOX News' motto is "We report, you decide." CNN's should be "We Make News Where There is None."

This week, CNN decided to report on the "Right-Wing" extremist religious views of Sarah Palin's Churches. Did CNN ever report on Reverend Wright or Father Pfleger while Hillary was still in the race? NO! Why? Because then Hillary would have, rightly, won the Democratic nomination. Well, the media could NOT have that!

So, CNN traveled all the way to the farthest reaches of the earth, Alaska, a state Barack Obama admits he never bothered to visit during the primaries, to find Sarah Palin's pastors past and present and make a "news" story out of it. So, what did we learn? Years ago she belonged to a Pentecostal Church where they "Speak in Tongues." But, Sarah Palin never learned how to "Speak in tongues" herself. So, then CNN goes to her current non-denominational Church and discovers that two weeks ago there was a guest speaker at her church and she sat in the pew as this speaker gave an "anti-Israel" speech. This speaker was not a member of her Church, but a member of "Jews for Jesus." So, CNN sits down with Palin's pastor and he refuses to talk about Sarah herself. Gee, do you actually think a Catholic Priest would talk about his parishioners? NO! So, CNN then asks this pastor about the "Jews for Jesus" speaker and if he would be invited back to speak. The pastor responded "Yes." Oh My! A pastor, at a NON-DENOMINATIONAL church actually admits that he would allow a speaker from another religion to speak at his church again. Do you see the problem here? CNN was trying to corner a pastor into either lying, or being made to look like a radical.

CNN then shows footage of Palin speaking at a church, asking the parishioners to pray for God to help them get the natural gas pipeline going. She also asked them to pray that the War in Iraq is actually God's Will. CNN tried to make it sound like Palin was saying that the war IS God's Will. BUT, praying that it is God's Will is the total opposite: It is basically praying that we are not doing the wrong thing. CNN then interviewed Palin's spokesperson in Alaska, and she said ALL Alaskan's are praying that the natural gas pipeline goes through, since Alaskans depend on energy production for their jobs. CNN then mentioned the "anti-Israel" speech by the Jew for Jesus, and her spokeswoman said that she knows for a fact that Sarah Palin is pro-Israel.

This REALLY pisses me off for two reasons: First, CNN did all this "reporting" and at the very end they point out that Sarah Palin, as Governor, has NEVER pushed her socially-Conservative views on Alaskans; however, they report, Democrats warn that she will as Vice President. WHAT?!?

Let us analyze this for a moment. Democrats and the media are tearing apart Sarah Palin's record as Mayor and Governor of Alaska, searching for ANYTHING to destroy her. They nit-pick the jet on Ebay and the Bridge to Nowhere, LITERALLY parsing words. They completely ignore any accomplishment, like ousting corrupt Republicans and raising taxes on Big Oil, because, well, that is a POSITIVE. So, in an act of desperation, they cross the line, violate the Separation of Church and State, and invade the privacy of her church. And in the end, all they can say is that she NEVER allowed her personal beliefs to cloud her judgement as Governor, but that Democrats BELIEVE that she will turn the country into a theocracy if she becomes VP?

Do you notice the anomaly here? The media and the Democrats are tearing apart Palin's RECORD. You see, they can actually do this because she actually HAS a record! Sarah Palin actually has a record to go through, while Barack Obama does NOT! Obama's record is that in 2006 he refused to sign onto a bi-partisan ethics bill with John McCain and Joe Lieberman, and McCain sent him a letter calling him out on it. Obama's record is that he voted FOR the Bush / Cheney Energy Bill in 2005 that gave even more subsidies to Big Oil, yet McCain voted AGAINST the bill because of the oil subsidies. Sarah Palin actually increased taxes on Big Oil, and Obama is now criticizing "Excessive windfall profits" that must be taxed. Well, Mr. Obama: Why did you vote to give the oil companies MORE subsidies? Talk is cheap. Action stands tall.

The second reason this CNN hit-piece pisses me off is two-fold. First of all, I am an AMERICAN, NOT an Israeli. Why the HELL does everyone in this country believe that our government has to defend Israel or any other country, for that matter? This is pathetic, and BOTH Parties, the Democrats and the Republicans are to blame. Our Constitution explicitly states that our government's ONLY role is to protect AMERICANS! No One ELSE! We are NOT the United States of Israel, NOT the United States of Georgia, NOT the United States of the North American Union, NOT the United States of Global Domination or the United States of ANYTHING ELSE! We are, simply, the United States of AMERICA!

Secondly, this was a deliberate attempt to scare the shit out of ordinary Americans, religious or not. First, it was aimed at the Jewish vote to force Jews into voting against McCain (who has a pro-Israel record) and for Obama (who does not). Next, it was aimed at the non-religious voters, just by simply making her look like a religious nut. And third, it was aimed at people like ME mainstream Christians Orthodox, Catholic and Mainline Protestants whose theology is diametrically opposed to that of Evangelicals, Pentecostals and non-denominational Churches.

CNN has totally crossed the line this time. They have violated the Constitutional Rights of ALL Americans by violating the First Amendment and the Separation of Church and State. CNN has made religion a TEST that Sarah Palin, the first FEMALE, CONSERVATIVE Vice Presidential candidate must pass. They did NOT make Obama pass this test, they did not even make Joe Biden or John McCain pass this test. Heck, they never bothered to make George W. Bush pass this test, either. But they ARE forcing Sarah Palin take this test by violating her Privacy Rights and making up a news story where there is none.

Newsflash: Sarah Palin's governing record shows that she upholds the Constitution by not allowing her personal views to cloud her judgment. This is highlighted by the fact that one of her first acts as Governor was to VETO a bill that would have banned same-sex partners from receiving benefits. Did the bill banning the state from recognizing same-sex partners fall in-line with her own views? Who cares? The only thing that matters is how she acted in her role as Governor of the PEOPLE. She did her job, and homosexuals benefited. Who cares how her Church feels about it?

I’m a Jewish believer in Jesus. Most blogs and news services have posted the same one paragraph of the six-page transcript of David Brickner’s message, giving the false impression that he is saying that a bulldozer attack by a deranged Palestinian is God’s judgment on the Jewish people. Please read or listen to the entire message for yourself at the Jews for Jesus website, www.jewsforjesus.org, so that you can see Brickner’s remarks in context. Please also take a look at Mr. Brickner’s comments concerning his message at Wasilla Bible Church, as well as an interview by Christianity Today with Mr. Brickner about this issue, at that same website.

Reverend Wright is all you heard about for quite a while, so I have no clue what you are talking about.  Palin is a right wing, fundamentalist, gun loving nutcase.  Absolutely the last person I want anywhere near being a leader of this country.

All I needed to know not to support Palin is her alignment with John McCain. Nothing else matters to me from there.
