The press is having a field day! Bands are playing! TV reporters trip over one another to interview Dr. Paul. All across America, Paul supporters and foes alike hang on his every word. ABC, NBC, CBS, even FOX microphones are thrust forward into Paul's face. Reporters vie to get his attention, to be selected to ask a question, any question, of this man recently catapulted to super-stardom.
"Ron" no longer necessary, "Paul" alone is sufficient to trigger universal recognition. He has become a household name. Even so, pundits are forced to admit that Paul's global fame has not changed him. He is still the same powerful voice for Liberty, foe of massive government, yes, he is still "Dr. No" and he remains the Champion of the Constitution. His very first words taking on this world-renowned role affirm it. A track record of twenty years in public service bolster the nation's confidence that he means it.
Watch now as Ronald Ernest Paul, placing one hand on a Bible and raising the other towards Heaven, publicly and with deep sincerity swears this oath:
"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
God alone knows a man's heart, but across the nation there is an overwhelming sense that, for the first time in recent memory, a President has truly meant it.
Hail to the Chief! America welcomes you, President Paul!
