BREAKING NEWS: Ron Paul Delegates Surrounded by SS ( Secret Service) Illegally Searched and Personal Ron Paul Items Stolenby Sherry Baker

Friday, September 5, 2008
This just in: The self-described Constitutionally conservative Daily Newscaster web site ([link edited for length]) is reporting that today, September 5th, while Ron Paul delegates were taking a picture in front of the model White House inside the Convention Center at the Republican Convention they were basically surrounded and harassed by the Secret Service.
Their crime?
Apparently just supporting Ron Paul and/or having information related to that Republican congressman.
The SS, I mean , Secret Service, has been following Ron Paul supporters . Today they searched all their bags ( with what LEGAL CAUSE, may I ask ) of those posing for a picture together and seized apparently really " dangerous" items i.e. everything somehow linked to Ron Paul including signs, buttons, videos, slim jims, cards, even books.
(If you have any info that disputes this or additional information, please post it. Anyone interested in our Constitutional rights needs to keep abreast of this story and we need to get the accurate facts.)
Alternate Delegate Dennis Rothacker from Florida reported to the Daily Newscaster: "We were done taking the picture when Secret Service started walking into the room and surrounded us. There were about 30 of them. When they searched my bags they took my Ron Paul sign and turned a deaf ear to my complains, they just walked away."
Another delegate, the web site is reporting, even had DVDs confiscated and was told nothing about Ron Paul was allowed in " McCain territory" by security goons.
I thought this was the U.S. of A. where our Constitutional rights were protected , not trampled.
Now it is " McCain territory"?

The article you cited says that someone took video of the incident, and a whole bunch of commenters are demanding to known when that video is going to be posted on YouTube. I'm sure we'd all like to see that video.
Also, the article doesn't clarify how they knew the perps were Secret Service. Was an assumption made because they saw earpieces with curled cords going into their shirt collars? Or did the perps identify themselves as Secret Service? The article is unclear about that point.
I support Ron Paul and the Movement and voted for him, but last night was John McCain's night.
The Republican Party is a private organization. They have the right to restrict protest in their own domain.
Ron has made the choice to conduct the Campaign within existing parties. Those parties select and endorse their own winners and have the right to choose how the party is presented to the public.
"The Republican Party is a private organization." .. . the nazi party was also quite private and rejected any dissention among it's ranks. I watched last night, and what I saw has made me decide I'm going to change my party affiliation today away from the Republican party - a party that I've voted with for over 20 years. When an Iraq War vet held up a sign saying "McCain votes against veterans" and the GOP goons hauled him out while the crowd chanted "USA!, USA!, USA!"... I decided that is not the party for me.
Now.. why did $60,000,000 in taxpayer funds to towards throwing this coronation party for a private organization? Were equal funds given to the Libertarian and Constitution parties for their conventions? If the Republicans really stand for less government waste then why did they take that 60Mil?
It is my understanding the even described above happened THIS MORNING and not last night during McCain's speech or any other speeches..it was some people taking a group photo in the a.m.
