How to Vote When You Feel Left Out The two party system has failed us once again. They do not represent our views, feelings or opinions. They have left us with no choiceby Bruce West

The two major parties have decided to not represent vast segments of their supporters in this upcoming election. People who have been faithful to their party are left without a candidate on both sides. Voting for Bob Barr is a way to bring representation back to the people. Voting for Bob Barr is the only true vote for change available this year.
If you are not sure what Bob Barr is about, check out thess videos from youtube.com:
This may be the first time some of us have heard of Bob Barr because his name is not mentioned in the press because of the biased media and the other political parties. As an introduction, one will find that Bob is not the "perfect" candidate. There are those who may not like him, but one has to respect a guy who says what he means and does what he says. Even if they may not agree with everything he says and does, he does what he thinks is best and he has made changes for the good of the citizens of the US.
While both the democrats and republicans are adept at lying, misrepresenting and pretending to care, this year they have failed those whom they represent. Polls show we are very disappointed in the selection and neither candidate is eliciting the enthusiasm that should be there while we vote. One candidate brings more war and Bush, while the other brings "Change." (nobody knows what this change really is)
Bob Barr and the libertarian party are neither liberal nor conservative. They represent liberal and conservative viewpoints and the added bonus of promoting freedom and liberty of the people. They believe citzens and businesses can function with little governmental control. This is displayed well with the Nolan chart which shows us that the Libertarians reresent most principles which both Republicans and Democratics can relate while providing us with freedom to chose how we live our lives without intvention from the government.
Bob and the LP can support the Liberal's views of having personal freedom while still representing the conservative's economic freedoms. If you look at the scorecard from congress in 2006, our current representatives are consistently voting to take away our rights and freedoms.
The other two parties spend their time and engery trying to portray the LP as being extremist to try to control voters. They feel if we have no alternative, we will have to pick one of their candidates. This mentality also prevents discussions on issues which really do affect us.
Some try to portray the LP as being a group of fringe extremist that take votes away from the "real" parties. This is not true. Libertarians do not believe in anarchy. They believe in government without unlimited control . They believe the government works for the people to pretect their peopl and to defend the rights of all citizens.
Obama has been campaigning on the premise of change, but what is he really going to change? What is his stance on issues? It's hard to say because he doesn't have them in writing. Bob Barr on the other hand has published his stance on his website and it has not changed since the beginning of the election.
While neither Obama nor McCain have come up with a valid policy, stance or proposed solution to the Social Security issues, Bob Barr has published his proposal on the website. (Http://www.bobbarr2008.com)
McCain seems willing to keep our troops in Iraq while recklessly sending more of our children to Georgia or anywhere else he personally feels obligated to go regardless of the effects on our home, family or country. At the same time, Obama seemed dazed and confused on Georgia and waffles on his stance in Iraq. Bob Barr says quit sending our troops in harms way for no good reason and bring our troops home to be used in defense! He says we should put defense back into the defense department.
By voting Bob Barr in this election, we will be able to save the lives of countless American Soldiers by having a president that will only send our troops to war to defend America with the support of the American people and congress. As will be pointed out, Bob did vote for the Iraq resolution, just as Hillary did, but as he says, he did not vote for an "occupation" of Iraq. He also states that he regrets this vote because of the abuse by the Bush administration.
Bob Barr has made choices in his political career that were just out and out dumb or wrong. My dad always said, "if you screw up, atleast you were trying." Where was McCain during these mistakes? He was right there with Barr screwing up. The difference is: Bob Barr has admitted that these were major mistakes and is making amends for those now.
Bob Barr has been associated with the ACLU since he has left office. He has worked to change Fisa to get govenment out of your email and phone calls. any democrat or republican should be able appreciate this. Bob has been working to defend the rights and freedoms of the citizens since he left office.
Bob Barr can represent the disenchanged voters of all parties. We cannot waste our votes by not voting instead, vote for a real change in Washington. Vote for more freedom. Vote for Liberty. If none of these appeal to those left out, vote out of anger to have our voices heard by the disfunctional two party system. We can use our vote to show the other parties we have a choice and are not afraid to use it. We do not have to stay with a party that choses not to support our views or feelings.
Another quote from a Libertarian Penn from Penn and Teller says "The only way to waste a vote is by voting." This was during an interview for MTV when he was discussing voting. He does not believe in wasting a vote for a cadidate that does not deserve the vote.
(and just for the record, I know that Bob Barr is not as strict of a libertarian as some die-hard libertarians feel he should be, but he is the only candidate running to support any form of liberty, so a little liberty is better than no liberty)

The most important line, to me, is "a little liberty is better than no liberty".
I wish more folks who are pissed off, who have hurt feelings, etc. and refuse to vote for Barr, and probably won't vote in general, would heed this note and think a bit more closely about it.
