Bill Clinton Continues to Lie at DNC

Bill Clinton's speech unintentionally illustrates what's truly wrong with America.

While watching Bill Clinton's speech tonight, one line stood out to me. It wasn't the slick line about "that makes two of us" when announcing that he, like his wife, will do whatever it takes to elect Obama. Nor was it the line about the "extreme philosophy" of John McCain and his republican cohorts. What was the line?

Barack Obama is ready to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Wow.

Immediately following that line, President Clinton began to list off all of the things Barack Obama like fighting AIDS and malaria to making sure people had jobs and healthcare.

After saying that Obama would use diplomacy first and then military if needed, he felt the need to say that Obama would use first if America's "security, interest, or values" are threatened.

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but weren't those the same rationalizations Bush used to lay waste to the Constitution and invade Iraq?

I could be deranged, but I don't remember fighting malaria or creating jobs as one of the enumerated powers of our national government. Let me look that up just to be sure. Heck, I'll put it here for you to read as well:

TheCongress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

Tocoin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

Toprovide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

Toestablish Post Offices and Post Roads;

Topromote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

Toconstitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;

Todefine and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;

Todeclare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

Toraise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

Toprovide and maintain a Navy;

Tomake Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

Toprovide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

Toprovide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

Toexercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; And

Tomake all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Yep, nothing in there--that means that Congress can't pass any law to do these things which means the President has no right to enforce such law or regulation.

If the people wanted to give them the right to create such legislation, we could. By amending the Constitution. This is tough to do. There is a reason for that. With every law Congress creates unconstitutionally, the freedom of each individual citizen is diminished.

The reason people can't afford healthcare is because they are paying for so many things these idiot politicians have done without our consent in the name of "helping" someone.

The American Dream Clinton spoke of is a simple one--Freedom and Opportunity. When people work half a year to support a system of government that doesn't do the one thing it was created to do--protect that freedom from being taken by other individuals at home or abroad--and instead tries to do things it has no authority to do, we find ourselves where we are today.

I can't wait to "waste my vote" for Bob Barr this November. If Ron Paul's write in votes counted in my state, I'd vote for him. Instead of voting for the lesser of two evils, I'm just going to vote for the lesser of two goods. I hope you will do the same. If the Democrats really believe the things they intend to do somehow "preserve, protect, and defend" the Constitution of the United States, then they obviously haven't read it.

It may be a few more failed Presidencies before you join me, but if you realize as I have that without the Constitution being followed, nothing stops our government from deciding which rights we have in the same way they decide arbitrarily which powers they have. When you really get this, you'll understand that they are actually the same thing. And then you'll join us. If you're an American.

I've enjoyed reading your articles previously Mr. Armstrong, as I have this one.

I heard Presdient Clinton on my way to work this morning on the radio saying what you've quoted: "Barack Obama is ready to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I immediately fought back the headace I felt coming on. This happens sometimes when my brow constricts too fast.

 

I want you to know that you are not alone; many of us are being attentive. I too think it will take some time for us to gain enough people to change the two-party system from without. Do not give up.
