Next Phase of the rEvolution We've achieved a lot so far, getting Ron Paul in the media and making people take notice, but what's next?by BJSchaefer

It's interesting seeing how far the Ron Paul rEvolution has come, how much it's achieved, all in spite of what the power brokers and media have done to try to stop it. As the 16th Tea Party nears, and prospects look to outdo what was achieved on the 5th of November, as a movement we must always try to stay 2 steps ahead of the established entities if we are to have the victory we want, Ron Paul as President. The Libertarian Party has begun to mobilize behind Ron Paul, the Constitution Party is behind him, Republican's, Democrats, Independents, and non-voters have cemented his grassroots support, and we are now at a point were our size and decentralized power can start to rival traditional campaigns. But as with any movement, we must also prepare ourselves for the chance of loosing, however slight that may be. The saying goes "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket", and I've been a firm believer in this and have lived my life to this motto. So, how do we, as a movement, "diversify" ourselves to help insure the best possible outcome? Simple, we do more to help Ron Paul. As he's stated several times, giving us at the grassroots hints all year, that even if he wins he'll only be the President, and will need Congress to act on anything. The current Congress isn't likely to go along with a Ron Paul White House. Remember, these are the same people that signed, TWICE, the Patriot Act, put into place the National ID Act, unconstitutionally gave Bush authorization to go into Iraq, and spent money "worse than a drunken sailor" as McCain put it. As much as we drive our efforts towards putting Ron Paul into the White House, we are nearing the time in which Congressional Seats open up for elections. This is the next step in the rEvolution if we are to do our best in helping not only Candidate Ron Paul, but, dare I say it, help President Ron Paul. Just as the primary elections start so will registration for Congressional Candidates, and we need to start thinking of what Paulites we want to replace the established yellowbellied Congressmen with in our local districts.
We want to surprise the established power, and we want our country back. This is the next step. We are already organized; we've been working together for several months now, and have gotten into the groove of how to campaign. It's time we use that to not only throw the "established elite" out of the White House, but also those unfortunate enough to be up for re-election this year in Congress. It is time to turn this one-trick pony into a sophisticated, coordinated, power house. B utilizing the organizations we've already built locally and nationally, we can do this, and send the biggest "wake-up call" to not only Washington, but the world that THIS is the New America.
Let's turn heads and revolutionize the rEvolution!

I must also add one more thought:
While only a small fraction of our population votes in Presidential primaries, an even smaller portion votes in Congressional Primaries. This is were our established organizations (Meetup Groups, Eventful Groups, Youtube, ect) can have an even larger impact. By getting Paulites to run for Congress, and utilizing our organizational efforts we have for Ron Paul, we'll make an even larger impact. Total impact now needs to be our focus, and we must utilize what we have while we have it, less we really do turn into the Perot or Dean revolutions that were one-trick ponies, and hence fell from significance because they didn't utilize what they had when they had their full strength. The establishment is counting on us being the same, we must prove them wrong.
Even if we fail in getting Paul elected, we'll increase the voting power Paul has in Congress by voting with him.
Yes, Yes Yes - you are right. Please visit www.fightfirewithsnow.com to see the effort we are mounting to do just that: Change Congress. Please help us spread the word.
I had read an article a couple weeks ago that suggested that the Ron Paul phenomenon would simply dissipate at the point (if) he loses. I strongly disagree with this statement. Most of the people who support Ron Paul never were into politics for the reason that we couldn't see a way to fight the powers that be. Ron Paul has shown us the concept of how and why we can legally take back our country from this money and power hungry establishment.
Even if he loses we have already won in a sense. People are waking up and at the point you wake up to what is going on it is much harder to go back asleep then to work hard to ensure the future of our country.
If any other candidate wins the election we will probably be stuck in Iraq for another four years. This will have huge impact on our economy, enough that even more people will have reason to join the Ron Paul Concept.
If a man that never voted ever before listens to Paul's concept and then raises the Idea of Ron Paul $4.2 million, think of what people will do if we continue on the path we are going now. The Ron Paul Concept grows exponentially, as long as we keep running things the way they have been going.
Well said. The Ron Paul movement is going to need a lot of friends to make the good doctor's plan come together. Friends in congress and the senate. We have the muscle to achieve this historically momentous feat. If we stick together, we can do it.
Would libertarians support Ron Paul in congress? They seem so divided on him, as are the repubs. If the people are running for president through Ron Paul, it might be a good idea for supporters to consider a run at politics themselves. Besides, after all the bashing supporters have gotten in the media and on the boards, they're tough enough to handle a little mud. (and smart enough to be two steps ahead of the mainstream) This is a movement powered by the people, for the people. But it might just take the people themselves to get anything passed. There's power in numbers, and a large group of constitutionally minded people in the congress or Senate could make a lot of changes.
Dr. Paul is the model and if you decide to run for any office, please be principled. You have to a strong resolve for what is right for your people, not for yourself. When making decisions, look at how they will affect future generations.
