Supporter's unique approach to politics will forever change the landscape of political advertising. by JeremyCross

It began with a stencil font logo. Black and red type on a white background. The word "Love" spelled backwards inside the word "Revolution."Ê To the untrained eye it might seem simple and clever, if not a bit too edgy for a presidential campaign. But to an advertising copywriter who has spent the past two years of his life trying to create such works of art, it is nothing short of brilliant.
And that brilliance is magnified when you consider the arena for which it was created. No industry is spared from it's share of bad advertising. But when it comes to politics, bad advertising is the rule, not the exception.
Most politicians are so wrapped up in appealing to everyone, that they end up appealing to no one. So when the director yells cut, you're left with the standard white noise campaign spot. You know, the one with the front porch, the flag, and the jerk motion shot of Rudy McRombeeson rolling up his sleeves.
You see, they're so worried about stepping on the wrong toes, that they refrain from standing. But in doing so, they also sacrifice substance. Something that more and more American voters are hungry for.
So how has the Paul campaign escaped from the vacuum that is political advertising? They haven't.
Not to say that Ron Paul isn't "really catching on." But it has nothing to do with his first New Hampshire ad.
And that's ok.
You see, unlike the other campaigns, Dr. Paul doesn't need to rely on slick ads produced by a team of political gurus. In fact, he's better off without them. Why? Because he already has hundreds of thousands of gurus scattered across the nation. And they're far more in touch with the issues that affect regular Americans. Primarily because, they are regular Americans.
They spend their free time holding signs, decorating cars, making videos, buying billboards, mailing letters, going door-to-door and yes, renting blimps. So while the other candidates are putting all their eggs in the MSM basket, the Ron Paul Revolutionaries are thinking outside the ballot box to spread their candidates message of freedom, peace, and prosperity.
I'm reminded of the old saying, "necessity is the mother of invention."Ê Well, we need a better president. So naturally, we're re-inventing the political campaign.
