Official 'Silk Revolution' Award
First submitted on the Private Internet, to a Candid World, this 16th of August, 2008.
"Consider his spectacular career successes resulting from following his own judgment, in fighting for his own values, and for making the visions of his creative fictional tales come true EXACTLY AS HE WANTED THEM, as excitingly demonstrated in his lifetime achievement of the original Six Star Wars episodes. As the Creator, Producer, Director, and Financier of his own movies since the first Star Wars film revealed to the world the new concept 'blockbuster', George Lucas has demonstrated the hallmark of individualism: intellectual independence, persistence, integrity, and following one's own judgment despite others words and actions. He is akin to Ayn Rand's fictional hero, Howard Roark, and has been as successful as Ayn Rand was in her own fiction writing career, which culminated in 1957. George Lucas may not be a student of Ayn Rand's philosophy nor a reader of her novels, but his objective achievements cannot go unrecognized. He has created jobs for thousands of people the world over, and no pipsqueak journalist can ever take that away from him or from his moral reputation.
Be it Forever Known,
This award is hereby given to George Lucas, in acknowledgement of his heroic efforts to choose his own values, and pursue his own interests, despite what anyone ever thought or thinks of him. George Lucas is hereby declared to be an Individualist Hero of the Silk Revolution."
Proposed and Awarded with High Esteem,
Emma Goldman , 16 August 2008
Silk Revolutionary Councilwoman
21-ARA Founder, Silk Revolutionary Founder
