Musings on the Ron Paul flashlight effect on America's political process.

"We The People." (sound familiar?)

"I am the DECIDER." (ugh!)

"We The People." (It just resonates, doesn't it?)

"I AM the DECIDER." (ugh!)

If there is one thing the Ron Paul run for presidency has done, is turn the dark layers of American politics over for a general look-see. The creepy things that are mostly hidden to the average person just walking through the political landscape have become crawly and scary.

The number of influences outside of the general population's voting responsibility seems to have bred in the fetid enclaves of special interests' wants and corporate aspirations.

The fair-go election process has been over-run not by a majority group, but by an elitist minority that wants to be a "decider" too.

Just how many "deciders' do we have in this country? Isn't this country supposed to run on the general wants and needs of its citizenry? When a Republic was formed, and the founding fathers hashed out their brilliant plan, were "special interests" and "media moguls" and "banking cartels" the main part of the dialogue? For some inexplicable reason, I think not. I think they meant that "We The People" were supposed to be the actual deciders. And I think they were earnest in that belief.

Ron Paul is a candidate with ideas and beliefs that are not aligned with the current group of ‘handlers" and their political intentions. Media outlets of all mediums can be observed manipulating questions and time allotments at "debates" and adjusting polling parameters, steering the process while disregarding normal public sentiment.

How many times has a Ron Paul interview ended with "we know you aren't going to win, so…"? The bias is so blaring it hurts to listen to.

The outrageousness of the questions Ron Paul is asked to answer speak volumes for how far this country has slid in its very own, once highly vaunted, process.

We are no longer a country run by the majority of a voting populace, and it shows.

It doesn't take a genius to calculate the time-grants afforded each candidate during the nationwide televised "debates". Any American with an average sense of time will note that certain candidates have been PREDETERMINED to deserve more airtime and exposure than others. It makes me wonder-- "WHO makes this predetermination?" It certainly could not have been voters, as the election is still off in the distance, as far as I know.

So who are the "deciders"? Who are pulling the strings that are dictating the amount of exposure and positive and negative commentary doled out by the established body of pre-selected pundits? Is there a master puppeteer? Are there many? Is there a cabal of "deciders" out there manipulating the run up to the election and all of its processes?

As a carpenter who gets his tired backside out of bed early every morning, and heads off into the great, productive venue that is my world, I wonder why I do what I do, and I wonder if I am not part of some suit-and-ties' master plan?

I mean, wouldn't it just beat all to find out that I was a cog in the wheel of a machine I had no part in programming? Just a cog. One ignorant part, uninformed of the whole and working, working, while I work my life away and get ground down and worn out?

Ink wiring mimes want to know.
