Ron Paul may prove more Popular than Obama in September

U.S. Congressman Dr. Ron Paul [TX-14th] has proven to be well ahead in popularity than Barack Obama, with regards to keeping his supporters energized and motivated for his causes past the elections in November.

National Political News

As of July 27th, 2008, Dr. Paul has found more than 74,500 supporters for his Campaign for Liberty, which will be staging a counter-rally event to the GOP National Convention, to be at the "Target Center" (pun intended?) in Minneapolis on the weekend of August 31 - September 2.

Previously, Obama has had up to 30,000 at his rallies, even four months after the popular TV media heads stopped covering Dr. Ron Paul's campaign, Dr. Paul still pulls crowds of up to 5,000 easily where ever he travels around the country, generating excitement for his 'Ron Paul Republican'-style candidates, some of whom are represented on Freedom Slate 08.

I'd bet Mr. Obama wishes he had 75,000 in his rallies.  Was Obama in the land of False-Hopes where this picture was taken, or was it just an Obama boy's (or girl's) PC with photoshop?

Dr. Paul has previously predicted "one more generation" of freedom education to revolutionize American freedoms. Says "There's something really big going on in this country." Offers his thanks to his more than 1.2 million voters and 400,000+ campaigner supporters during 2008.

In his closing 2008 Presidential Campaign Thank You speech, Ron Paul points out the following:

1) [Democrats and neo-con Republicans] are committed to maintain power, his supporters are committed to following the Constitution.

2) Young people know they are getting dumped on, with bad policies, bad debt, and unconstitutional war.

3) Ron Paul says there is every reason to be hopeful for actual changes in the country, thanks to the enthusiasm and the fact that "We have the momentum on our side." : Link

4) "70% of American people think this country is on the wrong track."

5) "People distrust government ... but that might be a healthy sign."

6) "For the 1930s depression, the [Federal, State, and Local] government blamed gold money system, free markets, and capitalism. Today, Congressman Paul predicts government will blame the fact that 'people have too much freedom' in America."

7) "I'm convinced, you never have to give up your freedoms to be secure."

Thumbs up for a great summary and positive article!

 People are so easily hypnotized by the media. Just imagine if Barrack Hussein Obama had been blacked-out and ridiculed by the media and, instead, Ron Paul had been the favorite Son of America, his pearls of wisdom and support appearing in the headlines every day! Even Diebold couldn't have thwarted that landslide of popularity!

 P.S. That photo of Obama is his speech tagging-on at a free concert by a very popular local Portland band. Media distortion at its finest. Of course, Ron Paul spoke to only "about 500 to 800" people at the D.C. march, as was reported by CNN! [D.C. police estimated 10,000 to 12,000]

 Our...new leader...is so popular...we must love him too or we will be outcasts...

We should be careful of misinformation in articles such as these.  Some of this information is, at most, completely innaccurate and, at least, far reaching.  Ron Paul generally draws several hundred people a rally.  Obama is absolutely more popular than Ron Paul, this is not likely to change in September or ever.  There is practically no one who has not heard of Obama, I speak with people daily who never heard of Ron Paul.

We should expect more from our sources, we run all over the MSM when they are factually innaccurate.

But most important, we must not lose sight of where we are or we run the risk of not arriving where we need to be.

Uh, didn't Obama have as many as 200,000 at his speeches overseas?  I am a huge Ron Paul supporter, but let's be real here.  So far, not one Ron Paul speech has had anywhere near 74,000 people.  If he gets 3000 it is a good day.  Obama regularly gets over 5000 or more.  Don't fool yourself, the mainstream is thoroughly brainwashed.

 And, I am sorry Dr. Paul, but most non-neocon Republicans are just as power thirsty and liberty crushing as neocons and Dems.  I don't believe for one second in this concept of Ron Paul Republicans. I have never seen one.  In fact, the entire Republican party has a platform that is quite bad for liberty, so to say that you can be a liberty loving Republican is a contradiction in terms.  I thought we all didn't believe in forcing others to believe as we do?  So why is it ok to walk into the Republican party and try to destroy it and rework it until it fits what we want to do with it?

 Over history parties have come and go.  What is wrong with letting the GOP die completely and trying to create a new party that has a platform that we want to promote?  Number one, it is much more kind to stop trying to force a group of people to swallow your ideals whether they like it or not.  Number two, what on earth makes you think that the GOP is going to be happy being reworked and taken over?  They sure didn't like it in Nevada.

I am happy to support Ron Paul anytime he runs for anything and I don't even live in his district, but I won't give a penny to any of his so-called Ron Paul Republicans.  Sorry.  Besides, we disagree on a major issue:  the right to choose.  I believe that right is Constitutionally guaranteed by the 9th amendment.  I do not believe it is an issue that can be subjugated to the tyranny of the majority.  So while I was willing to swallow that bitter pill to support Ron Paul, I cannot do so again.

Gee, I dunno Jackie.  I was standing on the Capital lawn on July 12th with a whole hell of a lot more than 300 people listening to Ron speak.  Estimates were 8000 to 20,000, though I will concede I thought 20,000 was ridiculous. None the less, had you joined us, you would have met "thousands" of Ron Paul Republicans, Ron Paul Libertarians, and Ron Paul Democrats each of us realizing that rather than being sperated by these media driven labels the best label of all is simply "Americans". There will be a whole lot more of us in Minneapolis for the Rally for the Republic.  Come see what we're about...or visit Campaign for Liberty.org

As for the right to choose, you are absolutely right about the 9th amendment. And Ron agrees with you too.  "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."  So the Federal Government has no right to make a decision on the subject because that responsibility is not enumerated in the Constitution.  It's retained by the people, or the States, if you read the Tenth Amendment.  It was a "tyranny of the majority" that gave us Roe v. Wade and undermined both the 9th and 10th amendments.  The Feds should stay out of the decision all together, and that is Ron's position.  If pro-choice activists want to pass an new ammendment making abortion legal, then that is the Constitutional route to travel.  Not a Supreme Court decision.

Dr. Paul would be more popular if he got a fair shake from the media. Instead, we hear snide remarks, a**hole metaphors and slander.

Obama is an empty suit that can speak.. uhh.. uhh.. well.

McCain is an empty suit that is a war hero.

I dont understand your big disagreement with the pro-choice. Dr. Paul thinks that the Federal Government has no right to dictate to you, medicine, it is indeed a responsibility of the State you live in. His PERSONAL opinion is pro-life, hes an OB/GYN for !@#$ sake.

I wish that Congressman Paul had seen that the Republicans were never going to give him a fair chance and had joined the Libertarian Party before their convention.  He would have beaten Bob Barr easily for the nomination and would have made a huge statement with 12 to 15 percent of the vote.  That would have made the LP a strong challenger and they would then start electing people to congress and the senate the next election.
