If we had no gun control and a scaled down Government, we'd by default, lack the ability to invade other nations while keeping ours free from invaders and other nasties. by Dan Steward

Because there are no sanctions against those that tell outright lies against guns, they freely spew the tallest tales they may imagine against them.
Some of us will never understand the simple premise that the courts won't even listen to a case brought up against the police, should they fail to protect anyone from baddies. Even those feeling foolish enough to think themselves secure from harm by being in a "witness protection program" still have no legal recourse if it all goes sour on them and someone gets hurt. We are solely responsible for our own protection.
You can't even tell a liberal/socialist/commie/whatever and get the person to understand, that the Bush regime, that freeely wages the wars they so despise, is a byproduct of Big Government.
A Republic, intentionally kept small in it's size and scope over American lives, by the unwavering diligence of an informed public, simply lacks the ability to wage those dreaded foreign conflicts they so vocally rail against due entirely to it's vastly reduced size.
An armed populace will mostly by itself, do just fine to repel external threats, and keep internal hostility from the face of the peoples.
By now, I shouldn't ever have to tell anyone here that "terrorists" or other demons, real or imagined, will see fit to not even care to visit our doorstep if we are good enough to not even have the power to abuse them in their home countries in the first place.

Dan Steward
