Ron Paul Scares the Hell Out of Me

"I'm fearful that my concerns have been legitimate and things may even be worse than I first thought. They are now at our doorstep. Time is short for making a course correction before this grand experiment in liberty goes into deep hibernation."

Ron Paul, the one person who understands best the path we're on, thinks things are actually worse than he thought! Yikes!!!

The Crisis Is Upon Us

I know that when I say something is worse than I thought I really mean, "Oh, shit, I was WAYYYY off." Otherwise, if it was only a tad worse or quite a bit worse even, I could fudge a margin of error...I mean, there are a lot of moving parts here.

I'm not one to go around expecting the worst to happen. On the contrary, I try to figure out what is the worst that could happen and find ways to decrease the odds of that happening. Then prepare very well for something reasonably short of the worst that could happen.

That way, I figure if the worst does happen, I'll still be far better prepared than most. That will give me a huge advantage and I'll take it from there on an as-it-comes basis. There is a chance I could be reasonably well prepared but not for what actually happens. Damn.

I like to work into most of my articles a friendly or prickly suggestion to buy some gold and silver. Today, I'm suggesting you use your health insurance to get your health tuned up. If you have a Dr. you like, it may be wise to let them know that if the time comes when he doesn't accept dollars you will gladly pay in silver.

Until now I had been going through the motions of acting on what I believe. Now Dr. Paul has lit a fire under my ass. If things do get worse than he thought and worse than most of us are prepared for, there may be some major re-alliances shaping up politically. Hopefully the 2 major parties will both dissolve as well. No doubt the liberals will come back undaunted by the consequences their kind brought down upon us. The conservatives and libertarians can only oppose the liberals effectively if they rally around their common objectives and quit splintering over differences about specific issues. This is the challenge for the next rising of the liberty minded individual...whenever that may be.

Right now, today, it doesn't make a difference. We get Obama or we get McCain and what happens to most of us, personally, over the next 10 years will not be impacted at all by who wins this election. We have gone over the falls already. Our concern should be for what lies at the bottom. We all get what's coming, whether we deserve it or not.

When the dust settles the liberals will need very little time to begin taking control of education, media and politics again. To oppose them the conservatives and libertarians will have to join forces quickly. This cannot happen unless both groups understand the difference between partisan politics and the role of government. It also means coming to an agreement about the role and scope of government at various levels, city, county, state and federal...International? --shudder--

However, in the future we should remember that humanity is not capable of unfalling over the waterfall. Therefore, we must oppose the liberals who would encourage us to row faster toward the fall. OK, enough with the waterfall analogy. My point is that we lost focus, in a million different ways we lost focus and just went along for the ride. The liberals have never lost their focus. Liberal ideas naturally flow to the most fertile areas for them to thrive. They pro actively cultivate more fertile ground for future use by controlling the education system.

They use their influence over media and finances to convey the message that the immoral use of government to secure ones personal faith in legislation is an acceptable activity. After generations of messaging even the most devout Christian Conservatives think it is OK to use the force of government to outlaw beliefs that differ from their own. This is the kind of persecution Christians came to this land to escape. Liberals have taught the victim to become the oppressor and to feel so very righteous about it. Individual liberty demands tolerance. Limited Government demands people learn how to work things out as adults.

The contrarians in this mess, the libertarians, have merely reacted in a different, but equally immoral manner to the same messaging. They have abandoned the GOP, the most powerful force against liberalism, into the hands of the liberal neocons.

For the past several decades the world has been a cushy place for people who were willing to ignore the consequences of their actions but the time has come to pay the piper. The irresponsible splintering of the only group able to effectively oppose the relentless liberal assault on the individual and expansion of government into our personal lives is the apparent built-in limit on the advancement of our civilization. Until there is a determined effort to find a way past that phenomena I fear we'll just continue repeating the same dance as we're just about to do again.

When I use the word immoral in this context I'm referring to the necessity of ignoring the consequences of ones actions in order to feel good about not doing the right thing. I refer to this as not having the consequences of one's behavior aligned with one's stated goals. When they are aligned, one's moral compass is working well.

Dr. Ron Paul is the best moral compass in politics today. He puts every effort into exposing the situations where the rest of congress is acting with their moral compass mis-aligned. They are career politicians who are more concerned with holding their office than promoting a consistent agenda. They are all corrupt populists and Ron Paul doesn't let it go unnoticed.

Mankind's special power comes from our having conquered time. We can learn from the past and we can make predictions about the future. If one learns a great deal in a short time span he is labeled "genius" and held in great esteem. These people often see into the future and predict an outcome or create a practical invention that gives us a better handle on our universe. However, if one spends a lifetime learning about the political patterns and economic forces that have shaped the rise and fall of civilizations throughout the ages and dares to use their knowledge of that enormous expanse of time and repeated patterns to make some predictions about our future in an attempt to provide a better handle on our universe they are called a nut-job, or worse, a traitor. I'm all for the return of respect for wisdom.

To paraphrase Lysander Spooner, the right of revolution is never acknowledged by the current government but if it does not exist then we are nothing more that slaves; subject to the whims that motivate the individuals who embody the present sitting government.

If there is no revolution, simply a collapse, the liberals will jump at the chance to ensure that, as Dr. Paul puts it, "...this grand experiment in liberty goes into deep hibernation." I'll be listening for an increase in the sales of pitchforks and torches over the coming months. :-)

Having a right and not exercising it when the time is ripe is just like not having that right after all.

One thing I can't understand about liberals is their whole reasoning in controlling everything and everyone. What makes them think they know best? Who are those people anyway? Why do they exist?

Oh well... according to the Aztec Indians calendar, it will all be over on 12/21/2012 anyway...yay...

One correction, Jahfre.  Libertarians have not abandoned the GOP.  Rather, the GOP slapped us repeatedly, mocked us and shoved us out the door.

George.  Like all religions, liberalism is a matter of faith and indoctrination.

Darryl.  Blaming the boogie man for your personal choices is not very libertarian of you.

George: what makes you think that the desire to control everything and everyone is limited to liberals? Bush and his fellow conservatives have looked awfully statist these past eight years.

Jahfre, you say, "Dr. Ron Paul is the best moral compass in politics today."  Actually, as Dr. Paul said, "We should take our marching orders from our Constitution."  The Constitution should be our "star in the east."

But it is sad thay Ron Paul is "the one person [in Congress] who understands best the path we're on".  These guys and gals are supposed to be sooo inteligent.

I have enjoyed much of your work, and this article too was good, however, I would like to point up a recurring theme that I see in many Pro-Ron Paul supporters. The ongoing dichotomy of right vs left, leberal vs conservative, and dem vs repub I feel serves as a useless diversion, established by the collectivists to divide us. From the viewpoint of the elites who pull the puppetstrings, it does not matter if we spend the tax dollars on welfare, warfare, corporate handouts, socialized medicine or a new car for everyone in the country, they still profit from the interest our children will be paying. We as individuals need to realize that the only battle being fought that matters is between the individualists vs the collectivists. Collectivism is being pursued by the power centers of left, right, conservative and liberal factions, and those individualists who seek liberty must realize who the true enemy is. I am a Ron Paul supporter for life, and we find allies on every side of the aisle, if we look past the labels the media places on individuals, and just see them as people. For some great essays on this topic by G. Edward Griffin and others, visit www.freedom-force.org . You will be glad you did.

I agree with everthing written by Marc.

I visited freedomforce.org last week, & just about lost my cookies several times ~ from the education Mr. Griffin offers. He is truly one of Uncle Sam's heroes, yet he keeps all in a global perspective. America's incessant naval-gazing tends to section it off as if it was the only land mass on the planet, ... as if it were unaffected by the rest of the world which is ignored, mystified, & threatened. Historian, scholar, & economist, Mr. Griffin puts the puzzle together very effectively, & brings the US into realistic objective focus, as it has been moulded by stronger, more ancient forces from outside its borders, along with the rest of the planet. Now, the rest of the world doesn't have to feel so typically irrelevant in learning how to help, & how to act in its own future best interest.

A very helpful study for me here in Red Canaduh.

Give peace a chance. Don't wait for spring; do it now! Write in Dr. Paul on Nov. 4th.

I'd be taking the day off to make sure everyone I could influence did the same, & to supervise the count alongside my neighbours. Anticipate the re-Constitution, ... ~ after the last runoff.

HJere's to rooting & agitating for freedom & prosperity.

Don't forget Dr. Paul's birthday is tomorrow, Wed. Aug. 20th. Luv 'dat guy, & his whole great family! So happy Carol is progressing.
