$3,700 Arrest Bounty For Condi Rice in New Zealand

Students at the University of Auckland offer $3,700 reward for arrest of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during upcoming visit to country.

Students at New Zealand's, Auckland University have initiated a rather novel way of putting the squeeze on their perceived war criminals. Even though they will be quite unlikely to pull it off, I still feel a need to congratulate them on their efforts:

The Auckland University Students' Association has offered a reward of $3,700 for the citizen's arrest of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Rice is set to visit New Zealand for her first time on Friday July 25th then later travel to a meeting with the Australian Foreign Minister in Perth, Australia.

Not that the public schools in America or the lapdog U.S. media would ever care to clue you in. The nation of New Zealand is very much unlike their nearby Australian neighbor in the sense that New Zealand does not possess the same thirst for blood found in the land of the dingos, koalas & kangaroos.

They won't even permit nuclear powered ships or especially ships carrying nuclear weapons to dock at ports anywhere in their nation and have done so since 1985.

Secretary Rice's security detail say they'll repel any would-be handcuff wielding fortune seekers from attempting such a coup. Which would presumably end even before it begins, Dog the Bounty Hunter's search for his passport, were he eager to horn in on such an almost lucrative gig.

Not that the Secretary would view it that way, but the students are not planning to do her any ill. They just want her arrested and likely tried in that country for war crimes.

Which brings up the question: "Are U.S. Government officials above the law?" You would think that from such attention to their absolute perfidy they may reconsider and take pause when plotting and scheming new lands to vanquish and it's hapless inhabitants to mercilessly torture and subjugate.

Nope, not this crew.

Instead they do whatever they like to whomever they care to do it to and feel safe from arrest and punishment anywhere in the world.

Perhaps such a chance of being snared by the productive members of society and locked away in the pokey is only viewed as a "threat" because it is against the so-called ruling class. Those suited and jack-booted thugs who oh so mistakenly think themselves our betters. That foul band of kleptomaniacs that lie awake at night, dreaming of novel ways to empty our pockets, snatch the food out of our children's mouths, and push us about without fear of reprisal. Yeah, that bunch.

Back here in the supposed land of the free and home of the brave, us "ordinary citizens" lacking in such super-rights may be picked up and detained seemingly indefinitely by badge toting oafs on the flimsiest of evidence (or none at all for that matter). It appears that President Bush and his gaggle of vile toadies have transformed themselves into the Ugly American Personified and are becoming even more unwelcome as time goes by, through their own heinous deeds, just about everywhere they deem to visit. Over one million Iraqis and 4,000 plus American soldiers have needlessly perished in an undeclared and illegal war.

Sadly, some of us are considered more equal than others. Here's to hoping that millions of Americans everywhere will force themselves to pull their attentions away from their daily insignificant musings and see just how much our leaders over value themselves, and exactly how little they think of us and our precious few remaining freedoms.

Dan Steward

Great article Dan,

One can only applaud the students, for caring enough about liberty and freedom to put up the reward.
