Saturday July 12, 2008 was the Ron Paul rEVOLution march & rally on the Mall in Washington DC; this is the coverage that the MSM hasn't given (and never will).

People began to gather just before 9 AM near the Washington Monument. Some people stayed with the group they came with, the rest were mingling with one another. People were very friendly, as expected, and ran the gauntlet from senior citizens, to bikers, to the typical 18-35 year old male, to the single mother with her small child (I personally saw several), to an entire family. Children in elementary school were excited about marching to preserve rights that they may or may not have understood. The one thing everyone in attendance had in common, is a desire for the government to obey the Constitution and a desire to be left alone. I was wearing a t-shirt with a rEVOLution march flyer on the back, along with a message "Write-in Darryl W. Perry US Senate", the logo for the Alabama Statesmen and an image of a US flag with the stripes made from rifles and the message "A nation of sheeps, owned by pigs, ruled by wolves"; and the front of my shirt had my RonPaulForums.com name tag "My name is: SouthernPatriot but you can call me: Darryl", I was also wearing a button that said "Live FREE or Die" and another "FREE Hawai'i", I carried with me a Gadsden Flag (yellow with a coiled rattlesnake and the words "DON'T TREAD ON ME". The rEVOLution march Marshals began gathering everyone near the intersection of Constitution Ave around 9:30AM. There was at least one bagpiper playing as we walked to the intersection, there were people with bullhorns demanding the government give the truth about the Sept 11, 2001 attacks, and there were people starting chants of "Ron Paul Revolution, give us back our constitution", "The answer to 1984 is 1776", "Live free or die" and others. We began marching down (or is it up?) Constitution Ave towards the Capitol Building at about 10:30 AM. Along the way, the police had traffic stopped, and people began various chants, usually after 5 or 6 repetitions, it would die out and another chant would start. As we neared the IRS, chants of "Abolish the IRS" and "Abolish the FED" became loud. Some of the marchers were stopping to take pictures at some of the buildings, the most popular being the Newseum, the front of the building quotes the First Amendment. I started a few chants myself, "Impeach 'em all, except Ron Paul", being the one that caught on the best. I also, at various times,  shouted at the top of my lungs "FREEDOM!!" and "DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!". As we entered the lawn in front of the Capitol, Aimee Allen's "Ron Paul Revolution" was playing on loop. People were dancing, singing, taking pictures and finding places to stand/sit before the rally began.

There was at least on confrontation with Capitol Police. A man waving an anarchy flag with "F**k your Govt" on the back side, was approached at the start of the rally (just as Gary Franchi began to speak) and was asked to leave, because "there are children here, and your sign has profanity". Someone claiming to be a lawyer walked over and began telling the Officer that the First Amendment protects free speach and there are no exceptions allowing profanity to be censored. Many people with cameras crowded around,  the man with the flag walked away, and the situation resolved itself.  About the same time, there were many Capitol Police Officers or snipers, I'm not sure, on the roof of the Capitol watching every move we made. Gary Franchi and Ernest Hancock ended their speech by saying, "they (pointing to the Capitol) say, 'we can't handle the truth', but they can't handle us KNOWING THE TRUTH!"

I will save you a summary of every speaker, however another highlight was G. Edward Griffin, author of "The Creature from Jekyll Island", saying that he can summarize the Federal Reserve in 14 word. "The Federal Reserve is the biggest scam in history and you are it's victim" and finished by giving a 3 word answer to the problem, "Abolish the FED", which drew much cheering and chants of "Abolish the FED!"

As the event continued people came and went with most everyone returning to hear Dr. Ron Paul's speech. The crowd estimates ranged from 1,500 to 20,000; I'd estimate about 15,000 (including those who only showed up to hear Dr. Paul). Dr. Paul mentioned that he was happy with the turnout, and that it "wasn't bad for just a few dozen spammers". Dr. Paul continued to give the message of liberty and personal freedom. He also emphasized the Republican Convention in Minneapolis Sept. 2. After Dr. Paul spoke, the majority of everyone began leaving even though there were still two speakers and some bands were going to perform.

There are many people that have posted videos and pictures from this event, but no MSM coverage at all and that is a shame. The media doesn't want people to be informed, that is why people like me, have to do the job of the media.
