First, less anyone think that I am making this up, watch two videos. The first is where he actually mentions 5 individuals, three of who I am very familiar with. The second is a person who I suspect will also serve under him.
Dick Armey: I am including him as I saw his "smiling face" in the audience during the recent Republican debate and knew immediately that he would be a great fit in a Ron Paul Administration. You can check out the facts on Wikipedia above but the rest is from my own knowledge of Dick Armey.
A former member of Congress from the 26th District in Texas, he served from 1985 to 2003 when he resigned [more on this later]. While the Republicans were in the minority prior to 1994 he served as leader of the Republican Conference. The Conference is the "think tank" for the party House members. Is was Dick Armey and NOT Newt Gingrich who came up with the idea for the "Contract With America" which was a major cause in the "Republican Revolution" which brought them into the majority in 1994. Newt Gringrich effectively "stole" the credit for this, but then he is a often not comfortable with the truth anyway [more on Newt below].
After the class of 1994 was sworn in Dick Armey was elected House Majority Leader and served until 2003 when he resigned his seat in Congress. Some folks on this site have questioned who will help Ron in the Congress. Well this is a very good choice as Dick Armey was well liked [and still is] in both political parties. He is a free market economist also and brings this knowledge to any post. He and Ron always seemed to be great friends and Dick always made sure that Ron got in his "Special Orders Speeches" on the House floor. I watched many of them myself.
I suspect that Dick resigned I 2003 because he could not take what was happening anymore as things were going "downhill" for the entire Republican Caucus in the House at that time. He now runs a free market think tank and this is described in Wiki above. He was replaced as Majority Leader by Tom DeLay.
I think everyone knows John Stossel from his current position as a correspondent on ABC's 20/20 so I will not elaborate on him. But he would serve nicely in many positions in a new administration.
For some strange reason there is no Wikipedia on him although he is a nationally known economist and market observer. He would make a great Secretary Of The Treasury as he is a no-nonsense guy who is all free market and knows all the tricks which Wall Streeter's like to play. His bio is on the above link.
Incumbent Greg Laughlin switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican side in 1995, and the Republican National Committee, hoping to encourage other Democrats to switch parties, threw its full support behind Laughlin. Laughlin had support from Republican leaders, including House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Governor George W. Bush, and the National Rifle Association and other interest groups.[1] Dr. Ron Paul, a former U.S. Representative from Texas's 22nd congressional district, opposed Laughlin, hopeful of having more influence in Congress after the Republicans took over both houses in the 1994 election.[2]Paul won the primary, the third time he had been elected to Congress as a non-incumbent.[3] While Gingrich and other Republican leaders visited the district stumping for Laughlin, Paul ran newspaper ads quoting Gingrich's harsh criticisms of Laughlin's voting record 14months earlier, before Laughlin had switched parties.[1] Baseball pitcher (and constituent) Nolan Ryan, a friend of Paul's, served as his honorary campaign chair and appeared in ads for him, and tax activist Steve Forbes also supported Paul's candidacy.[3][4] Paul continued to maintain his home in Lake Jackson, Texas, but had run for the coastal 14th Congressional district rather than the 22nd district he had previously represented, due to redistricting borders.[5]Paul's Democratic opponent in the fall election, trial lawyer Charles "Lefty" Morris, lost in a close margin, despite assistance from the AFL-CIO and running numerous attacks, such as citing Paul's past votes to repeal federal drug laws in favor of state legislation. With the help of his national network of donors, Paul raised $1.2million to Morris's less than $0.5million. Ken Bryan, a Democratic consultant to some of Paul's opponents, has said, "He has one of the largest contributor bases in Congress, outside of the leadership." Most of Paul's contributions are given in small amounts by individuals.[4] That year, he had the third-highest amount of individual contributions of any House member, behind Gingrich and Bob Dornan.[6]

I think he'd make a great National Security Advisor. My wife just finished a class in Homeland Security at GWU. They used his book Through Our Enemies Eyes.
Michael Scheuer is the former head of the CIA's bin Laden unit. His books explain blowback. He participated with Ron Paul in the famous Educating Rudy conference, and supports Ron Paul's view of blowback 100%.
How about Andrew Napolitano for Attorney General? He's a former New Jersey judge and the author of several books, including the recent ?A Nation of Sheep.?
Michael Scheuer is right about blowback and Al Quaeda's motivations, but his solution is to wage unrestrained, total war to destroy radical Islam.
Dick Armey? ...the Dick Armey who sponsored the Homeland Security Act???? ...the Dick Armey who is a consultant for the ACLU??? Surely you jest!!! Having Dick Armey in the Paul Administration would be like hiring John Wayne Gacey to watch your children.
USAF Vet Dan "Dick Armey? ...the Dick Armey who sponsored the Homeland Security Act???? ...the Dick Armey who is a consultant for the ACLU??? Surely you jest!!! Having Dick Armey in the Paul Administration would be like hiring John Wayne Gacey to watch your children."
Hopfully you are not some disinformation agent but are just mistaken. You didn't read the wikipedia did you, na, of course not. He is no friend of the ACLU except on freedom issues maybe. He left Congress in 2003 because I suspect he couldn't take Bush anymore. I do not know if he was any sponsor on the Patroit Act but I doubt it.
I am go to check out his congressional record on that vote, during which he was House Majority Leader. If I find out that it false also, then you are pretty lame at facts and a sorry person.
Regarding the Patroit Act: One potential coup for civil rights advocates could be in a provision introduced by House Majority Leader Dick Armey. The provision requires a judge to oversee the Federal Bureau of Investigation's use of an e-mail wiretap, ensuring some checks and balances over the use of Carnivore. Law enforcement will be required to report back in 30 days to an authorizing judge on information that was collected online during the investigation.
I'm rather surprised that he'd have Michael Scheuer as an advisor. True, he and Paul are on the same page when it comes to history and the causes of terrorism. HOWEVER, while he does make a pointed case about changing tactics, he is still in favor of using the US military as a steamroller to deal with the terrorism problem. I'm not sure if he'd be adequate as an NSA. Perhaps at a deputy level, just not at the head.
As for Walter Williams, I think he'd be a great advisor for several reasons. First, his views are similar to those of Paul's. While I disagree with his views on the lasting effects of slavery on the black community (I disagree with him because I also follow sociological studies on the effects of fatherlessness on children, families, and economics as a whole), I think he would bring a certain level of respectability to a government that either ignores the black community or treats it as an orphan child that can't exist on its own.
I'm rather curious about whom he would choose as head of the DHHS and what he would do (if he could do anything) about the disasterous family courts in this country.
Will Ron Paul be able to pick pro-war appointments for non-war issues? Or will they be all upset with Ron Paul's isolationist stance that they will not even be able to work with in the administration?
I hope Ron Paul checks out Catherine Austin Fitts. She'd be a hell of an asset to his administration, and like him, she's been persecuted for her honesty. She served under Bush the first, and silly Catherine, she actually thought that her roll at HUD was to help the people, and cut wasteful spending. When She set up software so that the average person could look up what expenditures were going on in their neighbor hood, the average person could easily detect fraud.(Hey, my neighborhood didn't burn down, so why are there millions of dollars allotted , and were or who did that money go to)If you've ever seen the movie Enemy of The State, you'll have a pretty good idea what happened to her. I encourage people to google her and read what she's about.

In the event of a Ron Paul victory, the two appointments that I would like to see for sure would be Austin radio talk show host Alex Jones as the honcho of a new, independent 9-11 investigation commission. Irwin Schiff would be pardoned from club fed and made honcho over the IRS. The NORFED dude who just got busted would be made federal reserve chairman. Michael Badnarik would be put in charge of HHS, and pastor Lindsay Williams would be made honcho of Dept. of Energy. Green Beret Lt.Col. (retired) Bo Gritz would be made secretary of defense.

Dick Armey was responsible for the legislation that created the department of homeland security. That seems like something that would be anathema to Ron Paul with his stated opinion of the DHS.
[1] Leanne: If you've ever seen the movie Enemy of The State.
Yes good flick with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. You should Goolgle up "Enemy Of The People" a movie made in the 1980's with Steve McQueen in the title role. It is based upon a play by Ibsen written in the late 1800's.
Little known but it was McQueen's favorite role prior to his death from cancer and a great movie.
[2] Peter A. Sagi: I use to listen to both Alex Jones and Bo Gritz on the short wave radio years ago and don't fully trust either of them. I had suspisions they they could be disinformation agents working for the government. Yea I'm a conspiracy nut.
Robert Pape is a professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, specializing in international security affairs. His publications include Bombing to Win: Air Power, Coercion and War, and most recently, Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism.
He was the first to actually collect and study data on all known acts of suicide terrorism from all over the world. Here is a quote from an interview Pape did in 2006:
"So, as I began to collect the data...it also jumped out at me what was driving suicide terrorism, because what over 95 percent of all suicide terrorist attacks, around the world since 1980, have in common is not religion but a specific strategic goal: to compel a modern democracy to withdraw combat forces -- I don't mean advisors with side-arms; I mean tanks, fighter aircraft, or APCs -- from territory the terrorists view is their homeland, or prize greatly. From Lebanon, to Chechnya, to Sri Lanka, to Kashmir, to the West Bank, every suicide terrorism campaign since 1980 has had as its central objective to compel a democratic state to withdraw combat forces from territory that the terrorists prize."
Dick Armey and Stossel? If this is true I'll be pulling down my yard sign, removing bumber stickers and taking Paul's campaign site off my page. So much for a united front against Fascism. Armey and Stossel are the epitome of Fascism.
Its amazing how hard it is to find other people like Ron Paul to run the country with him, but since the FEderal Government is a worthless piece of liberty eating crap, he just needs to shut most of it off. FREEDOM!
What about Representative Jim Guest of Missouri state, Representative Virgil Goode of Virginia state, or even possibly Donnie Kennedy from the South? How about Pat Buchanan?

I have to say that some of the suggestions made here make me cringe. For instance, Jason's suggestion of including Virgil Goode of Virginia...this is the guy who criticized Congressman Keith Ellison of Minnesota for taking his oath of office with his hand on the Qu'ran rather than the Bible.
Goode's letter to his constituents reportedly said, "When I raise my hand to take the oath on Swearing In Day, I will have the Bible in my other hand. I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way. The Muslim Representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran."
Surely, for a Paul administration committed to making peace with a world that the Bush administration has largely alienated, choosing to include Goode in his administration would send a very poor signal regarding religious tolerance at a time in our history when religious tolerance is very much needed.
I am similarly concerned about some of the others who have been listed on this page, but I'll limit my comments in this case.
This is going to be an answer to many of the real comments made above by various people. These are my personal comments only and in no way are they to be construed as those of Ron Paul.
I think Bill Lind would make a great Defense Secretary or Secretary of State. Yes, I have read many of his articles and he would be good in lesser positions in either State or Defense. My own preference for Defense Secretary would be Sen Jim Web [D-VA] who served as Secretary of the Navy under Ronald Reagan. He is honest although with faults. Secretary of State, wow that’s tough and as of now I can think of no one.
I would hire Penn Jillette as Press Secretary He is a good magician and comedian but not for Press Secretary. But then again both him and Teller may be good in a new cabinet position of “Secretaries Of Making Things Disappear.”
I hope Ron Paul checks out Catherine Austin Fitts. Leanne, never heard of her but will find out on the web, thanks.
How do you feel about Ray McGovern as VP? Don’t know who this is but will look it up on the web. VP, let me see, that a tough one also. The VP should also be a politician and the only name of someone honest that I can think of is the guy born in Cando, ND – Dick Armey.
Charlotte Iserbyt for secretary of education. Yes I am familiar with her, she was in Reagan’s Dept of Education and would be good in several positions.
Nick said, I would like to be FCC Chairman. I'll gladly disolve the agency and step down upon completion. Thanks Nick, are there about 1,000 clones of you out there? If there are then you can be nominated for lots of positions.
This might be a dumb question but is there not a good place for Pat Buchanan in the Ron Paul administration? I personally like Pat and think that there should be a position somewhere for him. He would be good as a political advisor.
One name not mentioned but the financial guy Jim Rogers, aka “Investment Biker,” would be great somewhere at Treasury as Assistant Secretary of “Making The FRB Go Away.” He supports Ron Paul and has actually said on live TV [CNBC] that “Helicopter” Ben Bernanke was an IDIOT.
Thanks all [mostly] for your comments, Jim ODonnell
G edward Griffin as Treasury secretary Alan Stang as IRS head
Ted Gunderson as FBI head or Homeland Security head
Alex Jones would fit in any where
Fritz Springmeier - pardon him and appoint as Secretary of state
Paul Craig Roberts anywhere
Jerome Corsi anywhere
I'm with Nick, I'll head ANY department that Ron Paul has on his list of agencies to get rid of (Education, Homeland Security, etc.) and I'll help dismantle at a FRACTION of what the current administration is paying! For President Paul and our country, I'll work for FREE, just provide my room and board until mission accomplished!
