TIME TO ADVANCE FREEDOM & LIBERTY IN FLORIDA; BECOME A PRECINCT COMMITTEE MAN OR WOMAN

"I'm convinced that today the majority of Americans want what those first Americans wanted: A better life for themselves and their children; a minimum of government authority. Very simply, they want to be left alone in peace and safety to take care of the family by earning an honest dollar and putting away some savings." -President Ronald Reagan

In Florida, once every four years the entire Republican Executive Committee of every Florida County is reconstituted. 2008 happens to be the year. One thing that is guaranteed is the Republican Party of Florida will look significantly different for the next 4 years. It will have more common people that represent true conservative values as stated by Ronald Reagan.

This means that the 4 year term of every member of every Republican Party in every county expires on November 30, 2008. Those who timely complete the forms which must be submitted between June 16 and June 20, per the instructions below become the new Republican Party leadership. If you do not like what is happening in the party then you, your family and neighbors need to become the party.

Florida Statutes allows for 1 precinct committee man and 1 precinct committee woman per 1000 registered voters. Many voter precincts have had numerous vacant positions for years. Some counties have thousands of precinct committeeman and committeewoman positions.

In fact, most precinct committee positions are currently vacant and yet the party leadership does not tell Registered Republicans about this.

The instructions for becoming a precinct committeeman or precinct committee woman are below. If you would like to discuss this please feel free to call.

Below are some common questions asked regarding these positions:

What do you need for me to do?

We need for you to help us by signing up to become your Precinct Committee Person with the local Republican Party.

Why should I do it?

We in America enjoy certain rights and liberties. Along with these, we have responsibilities. The country was founded by people who believed deeply in participatory government. In that same spirit, we are working to encourage participation in both the government process and the Republican Party. If you think things should be different in the party or it does not represent your values then you have a responsibility to sign up and participate in the process.

What do I have to do to be eligible?

You have to live in your voter precinct, be registered Republican and complete and submit the forms between noon June 16 and noon June 20.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to sign up.

What will I have to do?

You will represent your neighborhood to the county Republican Party.

What is the Time commitment?

You can commit as much time or as little time as you can. We would like for you top regularly attend your local Republican Executive Committee meeting each month to represent Liberty and the U.S. Constitution. Currently thousands of the positions are vacant and have been for years. Likely your precinct is not even represented in the County REC.

What is the purpose of all of this?

We want to fill every precinct committeeman and committeewoman position in every county of the state with a small government, liberty minded conservative Republican. This will require the participation of 1000's of conservative Republicans. We are doing this because if small government, liberty minded conservatives (us) become the majority of Precinct Committee persons, then it is (we) who can get elected to the boards of county RECs, write platforms and change the rules. In short, we can return the Republican Party to its principles: pro Constitution, pro gun, pro veteran, pro low tax, pro liberty, pro limited government, pro individual responsibility, pro states' rights!

How do I become a precinct committeeman or precinct committeewoman?

It is a simple process explained below. Essentially you need to complete two forms and ensure their delivery to the proper locations between noon June 16 and noon June 20. If no one else applies, you will automatically become the Precinct Committee Person. If more people apply than there are Committeemen and Committeewomen positions, the determination will be made by votes cast in the August 26th Primary Election.

How else can I help?

We also need you to help us identify other like-minded family members, friends and co-workers who would be willing to do the same thing in your county. It doesn't cost any money and requires a very small time commitment. As Precinct Committeeman/Committeewoman you would be expected to attend one meeting each month.

Why is the Republican Party not telling people about this?

What we have found is that the leadership in some Florida Counties is very receptive to growth and unifying the party. Some counties are diligently working to exclude all new members for fear of diluting their current voting bloc within the county party. So, unfortunately we have run into resistance from some in the entrenched party establishment who would rather maintain the status quo then return the party to its conservative roots. The fewer people participating in the party the easier it is for those entrenched in the system to maintain control.

Rules have been changed and, therefore, it is extremely important that you follow the instructions listed below exactly as written.
