Monday night, Congressman Dennis Kucinich presented the first Articles of Impeachment ever to be introduced against President Bush to Congress.
He received little respect from the floor and Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, had to call the House to order several times.
In April of 2007, Kucinich presented impeachment articles against Vice President Dick Cheney claiming "impeachment may well be the only remedy which remains to stop a war of aggression against Iran."
The Democrats, at this point, have asked for no accountability from the Bush Administration, which is why they were given a majority in the House and Senate to begin with.
35 Articles of Impeachment describing the Administration's abuse of power were introduced which you can view here: [link edited for length]
Some Articles include:
Article I - Creating a Secret Propaganda Campaign to Manufacture a False Case for War Against Iraq.
Article VII - Invading Iraq Absent a Declaration of War.
Article XVIII Torture - Secretly Authorizing, and Encouraging the Use of Torture Against Captives in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Other Places, as a Matter of Official Policy
Truth is generally not heard among the American masses, if we are honest. The mainstream media will mock and downplay these Articles of Impeachment as a waste of time, but it is important the American people are made clearly aware of the Bush Administration's abuse of power.
Co-Sponsor, Congressman Robert Wexler reveals: "The Articles present a stunning narrative of offenses that have go well beyond previous crimes committed by any US chief executive. In fact no President or Vice President in history has done more to undermine our constitution."
He states the importance of calling your state representatives and applying pressure,
"First, please encourage your friends and family members to sign up at [link edited for length] as it will allow us to keep in touch with you and speak to a wider audience. If you haven't yet put in your phone and address, please sign up again, as we will be doing telephone town halls in the near future.
Second, call your representative and urge them to support Impeachment hearings.
Finally, contact newspapers, news stations, and your favorite bloggers and urge them to report on this movement. We need to keep Impeachment a significant news story until the Democratic leadership sees the value in it."
Wexler also said that Scott McClellan, Former White House Press Secretary, has agreed to testify on June 20th at 10 AM.
"This will be the first step in what we hope will be ongoing and deepening examinations of the stark evidence and charges against both President Bush and Vice President Cheney," claims the Democrat Rep. from Florida.
Monday night, Rep. Dennis Kucinich showed the American people courage and dedication to this Impeachment measure against President Bush.
UPDATE: This legislation has been moved to the House Judiciary Committee by a vote of 251 to 166 : [link edited for length]
Kucinich released the following statement after the vote, "The sheer volume of the Articles required a referral to provide Members with an opportunity for review." He says he will take further action in 30 days if the Judiciary Committee does not act.

Good work! The more time the corrupt congress spends tilting at windmills the less time they ahve to actually pass legislation. This tactic gives the liberal empire builders in congress a scapegoat and an opportunity to play the victim.
This is certainly a good way to fool voters into not giving them the boot based on their voting records; especially with regard to funding wars of aggression against primitive cultures. Looks like Kucinich has become more of a team player for his fellow lefties in these months before the election. He will take all the flak and his cronies in congress will reap all the rewards.
Anyone who reads the 35 Articles in the link above can not dispute that Impeachment is justifiable.
Everyone in the Bush administration that was knowingly involved in these illegal actions and/or their cover-up should be charged, Impeached or forced to resign.
If Nancy Pelosi continues to ubstruct justice by allowing those involved to continue to hold public-trust positions in the government and not uphold her Constitutional duties by allowing Impeachment(s) to proceed, she should be charged, recalled or forced to resign as well.
The American People cannot allow these criminals to run our country, nor can we afford to send a message to the incoming administration that the President is above the law.
Go get him Dennis. We need to return to the rule of law and show the world we follow our own laws. The Constitution does not allow what we have done, and we need to try the people that violated it. Otherwise we have a dictatorship. Next we need to start trying Congressmen for not doing their due diligence. It is sad that so many Congressmen were duped by the president, if they can't do their own research, they need not be in Congress.
I agree with the Ohio State Senator. I also believe that anyone in the Senate who voted for this war or to support it should also be impeached from their respective offices immediately and not be allowed to run for public office again. That would eliminate most of the ego-centric elite that have destroyed our nation!
