Dear Bob Barr,
Knowing WHY the Fed is doing things - Bear Stearns, etc - is a powerful weapon IF you can figure it out. If you are smart enough to tell me what a children's cartoon means, maybe you are smart enough to be my President.
Following the 1981 Gold Stabilization crisis, the Federal Reserve of Boston published a comic book called "Wishes and Rainbows." In 2007 this was republished as "The Road to Roota" with a teacher’s guide in 2007. The comic is a cryptic and, at first, a confusing allegory. Here is my challenge

If the story is an allegory, what is the World of No Color?
Who are the Pebblepeople?
What do the Color Flowers represent?
What is the Golden Sunlight?
What do the Black Tears look like?
Where could Boulder Ridge and Gopher Junction be in our world today?
No luck Bob? Still too vague? Stymied by a cartoon? Well I was at first too. OK, before you ask Ron Paul, I will even give you a few hints but you will still need to think.
The first hint here is from 1967, written during the Vietnam War while you were aged 19, which just happened to be the average age of the "American fighting man" (figure you would like that phrase as you used it on your presidential website under Issues>National Defense) in that war. Did you answer my earlier question about why you not in that war? I’m just curious. As I recall, you voted for the Iraq war.
Here is the second hint. See page 18/20 and 20/317 on these links. Notice the year these articles were published at the Hewlett Packard… Museum.
Well this is the second time I’ve posted this puzzle at the Nolan Chart and haven’t had any solid shots taken at the solution. If any Reader gives a Thumbs Up (no, I can’t doublecheck if you do or not) and shoot me an email, or leave your email below, I will send you a solution. And it’s pretty shocking. By the way, the solution isn’t mine, but since one of my pursuits is involves getting paid to solve math problems and I have been getting paid for quite a few years now, I can say the darn hypothesis makes Common Sense. Trust me this idea makes so much sense it may alter everything you think you know about the dollar, which came from thaler, which was a division of gold.
Anyways, this column is a pursuit where I don’t get paid a single cent. Bob, does that make any sense? Peace.

"The Road to Roota" -- sounds like a promotional brochure for a gated community of Wayne Allyn Root supporters. Not that I imagine that many Root supporters; however, I can imagine Root raising the funds to get Roota built.
You have me hooked, I 'Scroogled' the term 'Roota' and have found some interesting website content, however, I'm still stuck on the solution that you mention above,
e-mail provided, through this 'Leave A Comment' and would like to hear from you further on the solution.

If the story is an allegory, what is the World of No Color? - America before the New Deal Era
Who are the Pebblepeople? The 'Commoners' in America; the working classes and the poor.
What do the Color Flowers represent? Free money in the form of social security.
What is the Golden Sunlight? Promises made by the Government.
What do the Black Tears look like? Blood of those taxed to provide the social security payments.
Where could Boulder Ridge and Gopher Junction be in our world today? One represents the world of the free market capitalists that turned into 'political capitalists' who now use government regulations and corporate welfare schemes to keep above the competition, and the other represents the poor that turned into the 'welfare class', who choose not to work, who have been bought off by the welfare bribes, and who live in the 'projects' created by the welfare statists.
