When asked on Larry King Live, whether or not he is running for President on an Independent ticket, Jesse Ventura says " I'm thinking about it ... According to Ventura "I don't have anybody to vote for."
"Obama will raise my taxes and I don't like that because we are going into a recession and people can't afford that now, " Jesse says.
He also said "I can't vote for McCain because he is for the war and I am not. We shouldn't be there."
He followed that with .... "It's like the McClellan thing, why wouldn't I believe that," when referring to whether or not he thought Bush would do that. "He admitted to starting the war with faulty intelligence, so I mean...why wouldn't I believe that?"
"Let me put it this way"...."I have George Washington, John Quincey Adams and Thomas Jefferson in my corner.... They warned us that the two party system would try to take control of the Presidency and that's where we are today. We need to listen to our Founding Fathers.
As far as to why he hasn't announced his intention to run, he says" I have until July to decide and that's what I'm going to do."
Ventura's new book reveals for the first time why he left politics and why he is now considering reentering the arena with a possible independent run for the presidency in 2008.
According to a review by Amazon.com,
[ In his book he pulls no punches in discussing the corrupt two-party system, the disastrous war in Iraq, and what he suspects really happened on September 11. He also provides his personal insights into the Clinton and Bush presidencies, and elaborates on the ways in which third parties are rendered impotent by the country's two dominant parties. He reveals the illegal role of the CIA in states like Minnesota, sensitive and up-to-date information on the Blackwater security firm, the story of the American spies who shadowed him on a trade mission to Cuba, and what Fidel Castro told him about who really assassinated President John F. Kennedy. This unique political memoir is a must-read for anyone concerned about the direction that America will take in 2008.]
VIEW POINT:
I was beginning to think I didn't have anybody to vote for either.
Now I do !
My vote will go for the only candidate I truely trust...( other than Ron Paul ), tell it like it is candidate, Jesse Ventura.

Kip, can you please post the link to this news that Ventura may run for president? The latest I have (May 22) is he said he will decide in July whether he will run for the Senate in MN this year.
Despite the lovely imaginative ending to his book, where he writes that Robert Kennedy joining him as VP and he is shot by a 'lone gunman' just like his hero JFK after Bush bombs Iran and the country has a massive dirty bomb attack and installed martial law. In this video library I put together, Ventura basically explained all the reasons why he wouldn't try for President.
I wrote the book "Always Cheat" that knocked Jesse Ventura out of office in 2002. He is a liar, cheat, phony SEAL, and he bribed a guy to win the 1998 election. In 2002 he said he wasn't going to run for re-election as Minnesota governor because the media was bothering his family, especially his son. Now he says he didn't run because his wife was ill. He's a pathological liar who keeps saying how honest he is so often that some people believe him. Jesse Ventura did great harm to the finances of Minnesota and he is the worst type of insulting person that America has to offer for public office.
Leslie Davis, I suggest you hold your breath until you have a perfectly honest candidate to vote for. Myself I'll vote for the straightest shooter, even if they miss once in a while.
