Accidents WILL happen....We all heard...HER.. say

The politics of power, and a bullet.

Those are the, admittedly bastardized, lyrics to an old Skid Row song. Did you get it? Not exactly subliminal is it? Now, in your day to day life, you probably don't say things like that, since they are not particularly nice. Past that however, there is 'da law.

Now, you might say that there was no imminent threat involved in Hillary's comments, and I might be willing to agree, if I had not grown up in small town America. Or if I hadn't known some venomous racists in my day. We need to face some hard facts here. Like it or no, there are some particularly slimy people running around. Guess what, a few of them are less than friends of black people. I can only assume that as a politician Hillary Clinton knows these wonderful additions to the gene pool exist. That rather begs a question, does it not? Just who was she talking to, not once, but twice?

We have heard her apology, that she was simply thinking of dear 'ol uncle Teddy, the one who shanked her. We have also heard the, frankly restrained, response from Obama. The biggest question is going to be the response from you.

It is virtually cliche anymore to wax eloquent on the grandeur of our peaceful transitions of power-it's the pap you hear hair-spayed anchors fawn about at Inaugurations, but it really does not mean anything. Right? Most of the world would disagree.

There really is little doubt that this was pandering. Pandering to that infinitesimal minority that will never have an effect on an election. Through the ballot box that is.

As I write this, and as you read, there is a man, or several, who are dreaming, awake or asleep, of ending what they see as a great threat-Barak Obama, the Black Muslim devil. You've gotten the e-mails, pointing out every slight "un-patriotic" thing the man has done. You have heard the words of his preacher drummed into you nonstop for two months, and the words of his wife. You have heard that he will, God forbid, Talk, to "our" enemies. You have even heard that he might end the occupation in Iraq, turn tail and run.

Aren't you ready to shoot the bastard yet? Did I mention he was Black?

To consider Hillary's invocation of the RFK assassination, twice, as anything but an invitation to violence is insulting to her. This is a smart, experienced, woman. She says what she means, usually twice. And she knows about that dreaming guy above, of that you can be sure. The true horror here is not that there is outrage, but how slight that outrage is. Have we become so complacent that we no longer recognize the gift of popularly accepted(though surely not loved) government in comparison to the brutal purges and death squads that are such a common attraction in the rest of the world?

For my part, I think that our government must change, but I'm nowhere near ready to resort to the cruel device of violence to achieve that change. But, I have a heavy feeling in my heart that somewhere, someone is measuring out powder, and getting ready to seat a bullet with a name on it. Whoever it is, I hope we never know his middle name.

This is no free speech issue, nor is it political correctness run amok, it strikes at the very base of what will tolerate from those who would rule us. This is not your Grandmother that said this, it was a United States Senator, a person who uses words as tools, making it monstrously irresponsible at best, and flat out evil at worst. What would have happened had Ron Paul answered a question about why he is still in the race in such a way? You can't even imagine it can you?

As far as I am concerned, Hillary Clinton is no longer a political entity in this country, and I call on the Senate to demand her resignation. I may have serious issues with my government, but this is not a Banana Republic, we don't do that here.

She may not have meant it, but Mrs. Clinton's invocation of Robert Kennedy's assassination in this election amounts to a callous invitation to all the psychos out there to take a pot shot at Obama. It is despicable.

I am appalled at Hillary's statement and agree that she should resign. She has done more to divide the Democratic party than anyone. The best thing she can do now is to step down.

As with Henry Ii's words, "Will no one rid me of this priest?" led to the murder of Thomas A'Beckett, it will probably be difficult to prove that Hillary Clinton's words were intended as an incitement to her more rabid supporters to commit murder.  But that is clearly a possibility, and it  is certainly certain that Clinton is intelligent enough, and familiar with some of the wing-nuts supporting to her campaign will take it that way.  That kind of lianguage is a disgrace coming from any American citizen, and is inexcusable from someone holding the high rank of Senator and  presenting herself as someone deserving of  the Presidency.
