Ron Paul Can Win in Idaho!

It hasn't happened yet. The primaries in Idaho are on Tuesday, May 27th.

The primaries in Idaho are on Tuesday, May 27th.

Imagine seeing "Ron Paul Wins in Idaho!" on the headline of your daily newspaper! And imagine what this would do to the morale of the preemptive (oops, I meant presumptive) candidate, John McCain. The McCaininites are already afraid of Ron Paul, and a loss to Ron Paul would put a serious chink in their armor.

If Idaho Republicans rally behind Ron Paul they will send a message by voting for a real candidate that stands for freedom. The people in Idaho can make history by being a part of the day that turned the tide. There is still hope and they can make a difference by sending a message. It is well known that Ron Paul supporters are strong, vocal, and active in Idaho. All they have to do is make themselves heard and known for the cause of freedom and democracy in this country.

Recent news reports from Idaho:

COEUR d'ALENE -- Longtime local Republican Party members fear a coup de Paul.

"GOP faithful are looking to Tuesday's primary with apprehension because some candidates running for Republican Precinct Committee positions subscribe to Ron Paul's brand of politics."

"It's happened in Spokane, it's happened in Southern Idaho, it's happened in Minnesota," said Brad Corkill, chair of the Kootenai County Republicans. "Every incumbent precinct person who is being challenged is being challenged by a Ron Paul person."

Here are some quotes from bloggers in Idaho:

"Yeah, I've noticed it also that there are NO John McCain yardsigns and very few bumperstickers (I've seen a grand total of TWO during the last year). By contrast I've seen quite a few Ron Paul yardsigns/stickers. Which is quite something for a politician the press has largely ignored since the beginning of his campaign. And many in the press are clearly hostile to his message of restrained govt, sound money, non-interventionism and personal liberty. Makes you wonder why. Who would NOT want those things?...Clearly Ron Paul evokes passion, both among his supporters (all of whom appear to clearly understand his policies) and his non-supporters (all of whom indicate they are largely clueless or dishonest when discussing his policies)."

"I have never seen a McCain yard sign or bumper sticker. Are there any voters out there that actually like this guy? Or are they strict party line voters that will be checking his box because the GOP tells them to?... If you will be voting for McCain because you think he's the only option I'd recommend looking into Ron Paul and not wasting your vote...According to opensecrets dot org, McCain has raised about $127,000 in Idaho based on 177 records. Ron Paul has raised about $120,000 based on 237 records....My interpretation of the numbers is that Ron Paul represents the everyday people on a budget like you and me. We need someone like Ron Paul that will protect our pocket books and stop the tax and spend politicians "

Hopefully, we'll see the headline "Ron Paul Wins in Idaho!"

Imagine that...

Unfortunately, it's probably not going to happen as you describe. As we saw in Nevada, the party leadership will walk out if they don't like the results they're getting. As happened in Hawaii, they'll rig it so that RP supporters don't even get a chance to vote on anything. The GOP is a crooked party full of crooked people. It would be better for Ron Paul and the rest of us to jump ship and leave the Republicans to whither away into nothingness. It's a dead party and a hopeless cause. Let the neo-cons have it and let's move forward. There's more than a million of us who could bolster the Libertarian party and that's definitely our best bet.

Even if that did happen, that he won Idaho, it would not be headlines anywhere. They'd bury it. Remember the first state he took 2nd in? The press had been reporting the top 3, then he took 2nd, and the press universally only reported who took 1st. That was intentional. They would block him out the same way by running a story on page 8, right below the "dear douchebag" column and word it something like "In what experts call a fluke, McCain finishes 2nd in Idaho", that would be the headline for the page 8 story. the contents would be several paragraphs of quotes by "experts" as to the different nature of Idaho's people and then a small blurb that it was Ron Paul who came in first, if they mentioned it at all.

What Ron Paul has to say at the convention is all I'm holding on for, after that, I'm voting for Obama. Because I figure, if you're stuck voting between two liberals, might as well vote for the guy who is honest about it. People are trying to paint Obama as the same type of souless panderer as Clinton and McCain, but I just don't see it. He's not saying anything and everything to get elected, he is what he is and he's running on the strength of that. If that's the most realistic change I can vote for in this country, then at least that's something. I'm tired of these phonies. Barr can bite me too, libertarian my ass. If Clinton ran as a Libertarian that would almost be more believable.

WHY NOT VOTE FOR THE PERSON YOU WANT TO HAVE IN OFFICE. If every one voted for the person they believe should be in office instead of the person the media pushes on us, it would be a different country. Why waste a vote! (Voting for some one other than who you want, is a wasted vote. You are just acting like a sheep) What difference does it make if the guy you are voting for doesn't win? Didn't you at least stand by your principles? Even if a third of the country voted for RP. He might just win. At least who ever does get "elected" would have to recognize that there might be some people in this country who believe in what RP stands for. There is no prize if you vote for the winner. No prize for being on the winning team. Those other three are not really on your team. They all have their own agenda and you are not really considered in it. Just maybe, other people will vote for the candidate They think will bring America back to being a Free and proud, prosperous country instead of trying to be on the winning team. However, If you want more of the same, then it doesn't matter which of the other three you vote for. By the way, there is also a Libertarian candidate you might be able to "Root" for. How come we never hear about him? Don't just follow the crowd. Try to show you can think. IF One of the other three get elected, it will happen even with out your vote. If you don't believe in your Candidate, stay home. Don't bother voting. You just might be negating my vote. That will only make the Media happy. If every one votes for the candidate that is the least objectionable..... We will still be in the same mess four years from now. Oh, you don't think RP will be on the ballot? Ask for a paper ballot. You can write in his name.

"...I'm voting for Obama." How can that be? Would one such as this even know Ron Paul?

Obama is the antithesis of Dr. Paul (as are Clinton and McCain). And, Obama's words mean nothing, he is the Chicago Political Machine's, bought and paid for. One does not hop over people in as short a time as he has without politically powerful sponsorship (read: crooks). He is a front man. What you see with Obama is not what you get.
Do not be persuaded or distracted by hype. A vote for Obama is a vote for the Chicago Political Machine - the politics of the past, repackaged.

Whereas Ron Paul says what he means and means what he says, and is beholden to no one! His only "sponsor" is we the people. He is one of us.

Study the words and deeds of Ron Paul and remain true.

And the MSM be damned, may the people of Idaho have the courage and strength to stand up tall!

TO ALL RON PAUL SUPPORTERS:

If you know any registered Democrats (or Independents for that matter) living in Idaho, please e-mail them today to tell them about Operation RonDemption -- please read:

http://www.nolanchart.com/article3644.html

As there is no Democratic primary that day, Democrats can best help their party by voting for Ron Paul in the open Republican primary to beat John McCain.

Please let them all know that.

Benjamin: You can't vote for Obama on May 27. The Democrats aren't holding a primary that day. They held a caucus back in February, which Obama won.

If you want to help Obama on May 27, please vote in the open Republican Party to beat John McCain. Please vote for Ron Paul.

(For details, read my previous post).

Okay, since I wasn't clear:

1) I will vote Ron Paul if he is on the November ballot. That's not an issue at all. HOWEVER, Ron Paul has made it clear he won't run as an independent(unless that has changed?), therefore, he won't be on the november ballot. So, what's the point of staying true to Ron Paul past the republican convention? There is no way, at this point, that the republican party is going to nominate RP over McClinton, I mean McCain, so what's the point?

2) I never said I was going to vote for Obama on May 27th. I'm not actually in Idaho. I do see how my commenting on this story probably implied that and I apologize for not being clear on that. If I was in Idaho, I would vote for Ron Paul, not to help Obama, but to help myself.

We already had our primaries here and I voted for Ron Paul, put up signs for Ron Paul, annoyed my family, friends, and neighbors for Ron Paul, and I gave money to Ron Paul. I don't regret any of it either. He is the only candidate I can honestly say would accurately represent what I want for my country. I was only talking about voting for Obama in november, when, presumably and sadly, Ron Paul will no longer be in the race.

Now, if you guys are going to tell me that RP will run as an Indy, then I'll gladly change my tune. But until I hear that, I'm sticking with my plan as stated.

David, I'm glad you passionately believe what you're typing. I used to. However, after believing in LP candidates for years, I came to realize they were simply using the LP as a platform to peddle books to sheep who didn't realize they were sheep. I don't know who to trust in the LP at all. You can thank Harry Browne's legacy for opening my eyes on that.

In Ron Paul, there is a candidate I can believe in and trust, because his record says everything I need to know.  You say I'm being a sheep, ask yourself this... out of these other candidates you would have me look into, what do you really know about any of them and why do you think you know it? Because some LP publication said so? Because some book you bought that they wrote said so? Because some editorial or political writer who says things you agree with says so? Think carefully, I do.

RP was the only candidate I would trust as my president. He's the type of guy I'd give the keys to my house to him without having met him, because you can't spend that many years in congress and maintain a voting record like that unless you have integrity and you believe in what you're doing. All these other would be choices, how can I trust them?

Barr? Yeah right. Record speaks for itself.

Root? A sports handicapper and a life long republican who has written several books including "The Zen of Gambling", "The Joy of Failure", and "Millionaire Republican". Guess what he's doing now that coincides with running for president as a Libertarian? If you guessed writing a book to sell to Libertarians, give yourself a gold star! Anyone whose target market has been gamblers, knows when there are sheep to fleece.

Daniel Imperato, here's a true libertarian we can believe in. Just ignore the fact that he's also sought the nomination in the green party, reform party, and constitution party.

The list can go on. The point is, the LP attracts people looking to promote themselves and sell products and that's sadly all the LP candidates ever achieve. It's enough to make one want to advocate the initiation of force to achieve political or social goals, but one must resist.

So don't anyone whose still looking for the good LP candidate shepherd to follow and buy books from call me a sheep. I know damn good and well what's wrong with our system and society and at this point, I will take change where I can get it. Even if it's just the change in tone that Obama brings. Unless Ron Paul is going to run as an indy, or Thomas Jefferson rises from the dead, I'll "waste" my vote on a change of tone, rather than to give it to some two bit insincere opportunists pimping my cherished political views to sell books.
