JUST SHOOT HER: Hillary’s Assassination Comment and the Road to PC Hell How can Hillary mentioning that the future is not set in stone get turned into a implied threat against Obama?by Sherry Baker

As we say down here in the South, lord have mercy.
I never thought I’d be writing a column defending Hillary Clinton, but I never thought I’d do a lot of things I’ve done so here comes another one.
Yep again, the hare-brained press is busy culling every sentence made by the top candidates, looking for a gaffe or tabloid-titillating fodder and salivating when they can find something they can hold up and scream about...God forbid they should look at issues or take the time to actually look for substance in, oh, say what Ron Paul was actually saying. Or that they could consider there might me nothing nefarious behind a comment like Hillary just made, daring to mention Robert Kennedy's untimely murder.
Sometimes, as Anna Freud once said, a banana is just a banana, after all.
No, the pathetic talking heads that pass for "journalists" are in a frenzy, twisting and turning and taking out or context and looking desperately for – gasp – anything that isn’t Political Correct so they can cackle with glee and do their typical half-ass job of smirking, calling in "pundits" for comments and generally doing anything else other than covering the REAL news.
Of course, the other candidates – or, their so-called "handlers" – are right there, too, waiting to pounce.
And so Hillary is being vilified because she pointed out an obvious fact about why she’s staying the race. Heck, she’s done really well even though she is clearly not going to make it as the Dem nominee the way things are going but IT IS NOT EVEN JUNE YET AND WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAPPEN.... she pointed out that her hubby, Bill, certainly wasn’t the shoe-in nominee at this point in the campaign and who would have thunkit that Bobby Kennedy would be assassinated.
Good golly, Miss Molly! How many people I know have said they wouldn’t be surprised if ghoulishly gray and unhealthy looking John McCain bites the dust before he can be nominated?
This isn’t a prediction or a wish, but a fact.
So Hillary is now being viciously attacked as if she were suggesting that because Obama is supposedly black (I can’t stand that inaccuracy.. he’s half white and for heaven’s sake I don’t seen anyone much other than total racist morons and shallow "news pundits" giving a rat’s *ss about his skin color.. those of us who don’t support him are looking at his lack of experience, not his abundance of melanin) he may well be assassinated.
Yep, that’s the implication.
It is stupid, silly and should be beneath Obama’s campaign to even comment on, much more pontificate about how "unfortunate it was" that she said what she said.
Is it going to get to the point that no one running for office can simply talk , hopefully honestly, without having the carrion crows circle and dive in picking apart and scooping out anything they deem PC and worthy of screeching hysteria?
I say Hillary Clinton did absolutely nothing wrong on this one.
She’s right. Most anything could happen before the nominations are sewn up and before the elections – and I’d add, in addition to deaths, martial law and false flag operations could change the entire political landscape.
Who the heck knows?
But I do know that mentioning the future isn’t set in stone and using the examples she did doesn’t mean Hillary deserves a press lynching.

The thoughts had already been going through my mind about the increased risk to Obama's life if Hillary was the VP.
Why did she say it?She is an intelligent calculated person.
Scary skeletons in Clinton's closet. The Clintons have powerful connections. No charges were made:

Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.
RFK was assasinated in California, that is a fact. However, what does that have to do with this election?
Anything can happen? Let's take this into context and see what that really means. So Hillary is saying, Obama can get assassinated as well because RFK did in June?
So Sherry, if you were running for an president, and I suggested that anything could happen, you could get killed too just like RFK did, how would you feel?
There was nothing wrong with Obama camp's response to Hillary's comment. It was in VERY bad taste and has no relevancy in this campaign. Yes, it IS true that someone can die or get shot but it's not something you say publicly to prove a point.
I've got to go with the prevailing wind on this one-I heard the quote on the radio, it was no mistake, and frankly, that kind of crap has no place in our politics.
If John Gotti said "who knows what's in the future....So, and so got killed way back when" you'd know what it means.
I honestly can't believe I heard her say it, if there was any doubt about what the Clintons really are-it should be gone now.
Oh, and my guess is that if you or I said something similar in that context, in public, we would be answering some questions.....dry if we were lucky.
"I was discussing the Democratic primary history and in the course of that discussion mentioned the campaigns of both my husband and Senator (Robert) Kennedy"
... no, you were discussing why you're still at this in June ... and you mentioned not just the campaign of Kennedy, but the fact that he was assassinated in June.
"We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June"
... you try to pass it off with a lame excuse that you've beeen thinking so much of the Kennedy family lately (that you would bring up Teddy's brother's assassination. Nice),
"The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy"
... but this is the same thing you said in March, long before Teddy was so on your mind,
In a March interview with Time magazine, "We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A."
I think it was absolutely intentional and absolutely shameless.
===============
By the way, Bill absolutely was a shoe in by this time in his campaign. Clinton is right that her husband didn’t have the delegates needed for the nomination until June 1992. But her claim lacks context that makes the two races an unfair comparison.
After losing early contests, Bill Clinton emerged in 1992 to battle former Massachusetts Sen. Paul Tsongas and former California Gov. Jerry Brown. Clinton swept the Southern states on Super Tuesday — March 10 compared to Feb. 5 this year — then took Michigan and Illinois on March 17 for a decisive victory.
The late March primaries left him with 942 delegates, a commanding lead with more than twice the number of his closest opponent, Tsongas, who suspended his campaign that week.
Hillary Clinton is technically right that it wasn’t until the June 2 primaries in Ohio, New Jersey, Alabama, California, Montana and New Mexico that Bill Clinton clinched the nomination. Before the night was out, he had surpassed the 2,145 delegates needed. But after March, there was little doubt that he would become the nominee.
It's reasonable to acknowledge that many black Americans and leftists have an exaggerated fear that Obama will be assassinated for daring to run for office. Add to that the fact that these things do in fact happen. What if Obama were attempted/ assassinated before the convention? It's not impossible, but Clinton's remark would look very different then. If you think this is blown out of proportion, can you imagine what that would look like? It shows political ineptitude towards a core Dem group that defies understanding, and for no good purpose. I can't imagine what the campaign is trying to do.
Oh, please - when people can't actually find any error with Hillary's comments, they feel they have to make them up. I hope she stays in the race and gets the nomination - because I am sick of the DNC and insiders telling me my vote for a woman doesn't count. I'm changing parties if I can't vote for her.
No.1 If HRC loses the nomination it's because there can only be one winner and because the winner has used the DNC rulebook. Clinton, an early favourite(<- that means am British..?) must've hoped to clinch the ticket easily and did not adapt to the changing times. The internet community has been a big boost to the Obama campaign. No 2. Even though HRC clearly stated a few days ago that she does not believe in miracles, one of the top top reasons for her to stay in the campaign this long is the hope that something drastic will happen to enable her clinch the ticket. I fail to see how a democrat would be more willing to bac the Republicans in Nov
No need to make anything up-if I had used similar language when I had a disagreement with a client today, I'd probably be in jail facing menacing charges. That was a damndedable thing for her to say.
Think of all the fruitcakes that she just encouraged to violence, do you really think that was an accident. This wa the most repulsive comment I've ever heard from a US politician-and that's saying something.
Not only do I think she should be drummed out of the presidential race, but I've e-mailed both my Senators asking them to demand her resignation from the Senate.(Not that that will happen)
Robert Kennedy Jr. issued the following statement this evening:
“It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband’s 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.”
What boggles my mind is, people are freaking out about this when the context strongly supports poor choice of words and bad timing. But everyone politely swept the "I was under sniper fire in Bosnia" thing under the carpet.
That was far more disturbing to me because it just struck me as the type of thing a compulsive liar would say. And I don't mean this as the typical lying politician, I mean this as clinical psychological disorder. It was just so over the top that it was bizarre. But she got a free ride for that oddly enough.
But this is what they get on her for. I guess I do understand why. This type of gaffe is easy for the knee jerks to be manipulated with, whereas the bosnian sniper fire fantasy requires not just a thoughtful analysis of it, but also someone who actually gives a damn about whether a compulsive liar is president or not.
Words and facts in isolation do not mean much. Infact context and implication is equally relevant in most cases. Case in point:
HRC is a woman after all. Fact=She is a woman; implication=this is a sexist statement; BHO is a black man after all;Fact = Black man; implication=racist statement. Let's remember this as we debate the Kennedy assasination.
I'd agree with you, normally, but but you must know that there is a very, very, small segment of the population who is consumed by racism-she was talking to them. Gomer in the trailer park heard that as a green light, that's the difference, the potential for violence, and she damn well knows IT.
Not to mention, lying is not a criminal act, making threats is.
Oh, and by the way, I wonder when ever, including the flippin' Civil War, you can find a case of a Presidential Candidate suggesting such a purpose in staying in a race? I can think of none...at least in this country. Hardly knee-jerk.
I'm sorry, but there is a big difference between a lie, and this....it was no gaffe. To wit, I find it more troubling. I'm garanteed a compusive liar by voting for any politician-I draw the line at enticing murder.
Just think if John McCain, or God forbid, Ron Paul(he could have faced the same question, about McCain you know) had said such a thing?
She said it at least three times. She was inaccurate in the point she claimed to be making. She and Bill have been dog whistling all along. It's strange how many people die when they get in the Clinton's way. Robert Kennedy was only 42 years old. He left a devoted wife and 11 children. His widow endorsed Obama, so did his brother. Hillary is dangerous and shouldn't be elected president. What will she say or do next? Oh, and don't remember how she played up "bittergate". She reaped what she has sown.
Mike - While I do see it differently than you, I want to clarify something. I apologize if you took the knee-jerk thing personally, I really wasn't thinking about people who actually discuss these things online, or anyone replying to this post specifically, I was thinking about the sound bite driven people out there who hear a blurb on the news and just go off without much thought. A unfortunately large segment of our US society.
While I disagree with you, I have seen that you and others have put thought into your opinions and as such would never intentionally dismiss you're opinion as knee jerk.
