Anonymous Donor Revealed in Nevada GOP Bluff Call

Nevada,--A few days ago it was reported that an anonymous donor and Ron Paul supporter offered the Nevada GOP, use of a prepaid room large enough to hold 1, 400 people at the Grand Sierra Resort in order to complete the Nevada GOP Convention. That donor has been revealed to be Sparks, Nevada dentist Dr. Wayne Terhune.

The original convention on April 26 was mysteriously shut down prior to taking the final vote, by State Sen. Bob Beers, R-Las Vegas who was chairman at the convention, because it was swamped with organized Paul supporters who far out-numbered supporters of John McCain. Beers' excuse was that the convention had run out of time on its use of the hall.

Terhune said, "This is a bona fide offer," he also said that..."other solutions such as a mail-in process to complete a national GOP convention delegation from Nevada wouldn't be fair."

With no surprise the GOP has declined his offer.

The state GOP has looked into those "other"options such as mail-in balloting or teleconferencing, stating that it would help with a better turnout. ( for McCain maybe).

Zach Moyle, the state party's executive director, said Tuesday the intention of the GOP is "to maximize participation, not to pick a random rate, and various dates and locations still are being considered with that goal in mind."..."the party is doing its own legwork and doesn't intend to use the Grand Sierra Resort". He added ..." completing the convention by mid-June would be good, but the goal of a big turnout is more important even if it means the event can't occur until some time in July."

Party leaders have insisted the Paul supporters won't be disenfranchised.

Ron Paul supporters upset by the recess at the April 26 convention, have said expressed concern about getting fair treatment when it resumes.

Jeff Greenspan, regional coordinator for the Paul campaign, said that "Ron Paul supporters will turn out in force for the rest of the convention to make sure that the convention delegates from Nevada aren't picked in secret."

The state GOP MUST petition the RNC for all changes in their convention procedure or the convention will be nullified. When they saw the number of RP supporters, that was their intent. Their view is if McCain can't win, nobody will win.

They want a date in July?  Why?

If it is July 12, or adjacent, it will be pretty telling.

Just promise Bob Beers that if he doesn't treat everyone fairly, than he can be assured that the grassroot organization and power of the Ron Paul Republicans will make certain that he is never elected to public office again.
