Ron Paul Places Second in San Diego

Tonight at the San Diego GOP Straw Poll, held at the prestigious Country Club of Rancho Bernardo, Dr. Paul placed second only to Mitt Romney.

I had the privilege this evening of being an eyewitness at the San Diego GOP straw poll. Votes were cast at the prestigious Country Club of Rancho Bernardo here in San Diego county.

The $125 per-ticket event was beautifully conducted, and boasted very fine finger foods, live keyboard music, and not too many speeches. From my perspective, all eight of the presidential candidates, including Dr. Paul, were spoken of with honor and respect.

About one hour ago, the results of the straw poll vote were announced at the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo, a community north of the City of San Diego.

Ron Paul Supporter at the San Diego GOP Straw Poll

  • 117 - Mitt Romney
  • 73 - Ron Paul
  • 51 - Rudy Guliani
  • 36 - Duncan Hunter
  • 14 - Mike Huckabee
  • 12 - John McCain
  • 10 - Fred Thompson
  • 0 - Tom Tancredo

The organizers of this event are certainly to be congratulated for their style and class.

Dr. Paul continues to command top numbers in straw polls across the country. His supporters made their presence known with enthusiasm and grace, with about 25 holding large signs for all to see as cars drove onto the grounds of the Rancho Bernardo Inn where the Country Club is located.

I just returned from the San Diego straw poll. Romney purchased a huge block of tickets and his supporters were voting multiple times. This is completely unfair. What ever happened to one man one vote.

Good job Mitt Romney! Why no blaring headlines here about how Romney won this thing? Why the bias towards Ron Paul? Don't you think an article or two about "Libertarians for Romney" would be appropriate? I know many libertarians who are supporting Mitt. Why the blackout on their efforts? And former Mass. Governor William Weld, Mr. Libertarian Republican in the 1990s, is a big Romney supporter. Why no big headlines on how he was campaigning for Romney the last couple days in New Hampshire? I'm starting to think that this is not at all a Libertarian site, it's just a hang-out for Anarchists posing as Libertarians.

What can Mitt Romney, a man with over 190 Million Dollars of personal wealth possibly do for me? Nothing...just like his empty, carefully crafted answers in all the debates. HE ONLY WANTS POWER. 5 strapping young colleged aged sons, NONE of which have served their country. You'd figure at least one would be patriotic...wouldn't you? HE IS JUST MORE OF THE SAME LIES, SAME B.S., SPOILED, PRIVILEGED BUSH-ITE...NO THANKS!

lol Dondero, you're a riot. You do realize that Romney is not a republican OR a libertarian, right? Maybe he is not mentioned because he is a stuffed suit running on his daddy's name and his almighty dollars.
