David Cook And David Archuleta Will Actually Sing The Phone Book, Simon Says... American Idol Has Finally Gone Mainstream...by Scott from Oregon

If rumors are believed, then David Cook and David Archuleta will be forced by the American Idol Producers to sing the phone book.
The idea came from something Randy Jackson said many times (well, frankly, way too many times...) "Dude, you can sing the phone book!"
David Cook will sing from the "L's", possibly somewhere near Lalan but definitely not past Lazarre.
"There's a lot of good melody in this section," he quipped. "All those La la's. I think I can put my own spin on them and make them work for me. Word nerd ya know..."
David Archuleta fought his dad for his selection. "He wanted me to sing from A-1. But an exterminator company is not a good way to start the competition. I went with the G's. As in, Gee, look at all those girls screaming at me... snort...chuckle..."
Paula was confused.
"I use a blackberry," she explained.
Simon wanted his own two cents heard.
"Let me finish. Let me finish... If this works out, we'll do menus next season. Imagine a Chinese take-out menu done by someone with a voice, like, Fantasia? It would be incredible."
Randy was too busy eating for comment.
(Satire, sillies...)
