Update on Nevada II The struggle in Nevada goes onby rtbohan

The situation with the hurriedly recessed Nevada State Republican Convention goes on. Both sides are complaining and there does not seem to be a satisfactory solution in sight.
Sue Lowden, the Republican Party Chairman in Nevada issued a new statement on the recessed convention and the vote for Delegates to the National Convention on Wednesday. (www.nevadagop.org) She begins by quoting from an e-mail sent to Ron Paul delegates to the state convention by Jeff Greenspan and Brian Komisky.
The email says that "it seems the party is not interested in negotiating an outcome that is satisfactory to all. State Senator Beers promised the list of deelgates and nominees and that promise has not been kept. Would we be open to good faith negotiations? Yes, but now we are hearing about a "do-over convention which would invalidate the votes of the delegates, or even possibly an e-mail do-over....
Ms Lowden claims that the party had tried to negotiate, but that the negotiations had been broken off. She says there is some dispute as to who broke off the negotiations. But she gives an indication of who was responsible by saying "It is pretty hard to deal with folks who make incendiary and untrue statements such as accusing Sen. Beers of breaking a promise."
In fact Senator Beers made a number of promises.(www.beers4nevada.org) He said the convention would be reconvened with the the credentialed and present delegates from the adjourned convention, and only those delegates. He said that the list would be prepared and availble. I believe that he gave those promises in good faith. I believe he thought that was what would happen because that was the right way to handle the situation. I see nothing in the e-mail that Ms Lowden quotes that accuses him of bad faith.
In fact, after taking the heat for the abrupt recess of the covention, of which he was the presiding officer, the party leadership seems to have excluded him from the consideration of what should happen next. Ms Lowden says, "The fact is that Sen. Beers can't provide the list because he doesn't have it. It is in the control of the party...and we are not releasing it...for various reasons...So stop besmirching Sen. Beers good name and reputation."
So the party leadership is in control and seems to be intent on making incendiary accusations of slander and defamation of character of anyone who opposes what they want to do.
The Paul camp seems to be willing to negotiate, but the party leadership seems intent on continuing on the reckless course they began at the convention.
