A Psalm for Ron Paul at Christmastime With Christmas rapidly approaching, why does Christendom seem fearfully bent towards war? Should we not rather listen when Ron Paul says (like the angel chorus of old) "Fear Not!"?by creator

♣ Watching the presidential candidates speak at the "Value Voters Summit" conference in October, and listening to recent presidential debates, I have been reminded of Psalm 120. It is a rather short Psalm, but it packs a wallop!
Consider the light it shines on Ron Paul, and how consistent Dr. Paul's message is with Psalm 120 -- in stark contrast to what almost all other presidential candidates are saying!
A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. Deliver me, O LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? A warrior's sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree! Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar! Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace. I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war! - Psa 120:1-7
If you come from a Judeo-Christian background, you will readily recognize this Psalm as representing the voice of God. Even if you are a secularist, you can at least appreciate the poetry and humanity of Psalm 120.
Dr. Paul's principled opposition to the Iraq war and to our present foreign policy of "nation building" is in no way a sign of weakness. It is certainly not a reaction based on fear. His non-interventionist approach is recognized and historically proven, and it reserves America's strength, economic resources, and military might for direct threats and for our protection and prosperity here at home.
One of Jesus' many names is "The Prince of Peace." In the sermon on the mount, Jesus said "Blessed are the Peacemakers." Although he has not yet won the Republican nomination, I guess that already makes Ron Paul "Blessed," doesn't it? Christians, of all people, should resonate with his message. And what better season than the Christmas season to hearken to and spread Dr. Paul's message of peace abroad in our land?

I find it interesting that Dr. Paul never really speaks about the Bible or religion; he just personifies many of those values. On the other hand, Huckabee uses the Bible and religion in an attempt to obscure his true essence.

I am 41 years old, my last 23 yars of voting has taught me a valuable lesson, we need to stop electing politicians that turn out to be complete liars, aka George Bush, Bill Clinton, Goerge Bush junior, it doesn't matter what a politician say's, what matters is if his record proves he means what he say's, Ron Paul is hands down the best candidate I have ever seen as far as doing what he said he was going to do, This man is truly interested in our best inetrest, every single other candidate except for Dennis Kucinich is full of ****!!!
The problem with Dennis is that he wants socialism, we can all see how well that worked for ussr, I am not tellimg you who to vote for, but I do ask that everyone take a real hard look at who we elect for our next president, because if we don't, this country, the greatest country in the world, will end up in massive poverty and authoritarian rule, mark my words!!!
Beautifully said. Yes, the peace message is perceived as a weak message by those who have great fear in their hearts. The world doesn't need The U.S. to be its police, it does need the U.S. to be an example. We could again become the beacon of liberty for the whole world if we were to again embrace the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Moving, much appreciated. here is my prayer for Ron Paul:
Intro.: I was thinking about the possibility of a less than satisfactory outcome in Iowa and how that might benefit those who specialize in grief counseling. I became quite morose and the thought came to me that only a miracle would change matters for us in Iowa. This is because of Iowa’s peculiar demographics that favor those who are adept at playing the religious card. This summer’s straw poll in Iowa had Romney and Brownback heading the field. You don’t get more “religious” than that. This led me to the thought that if it will take a miracle for Ron Paul to improve his straw poll showing, perhaps we need to pray for such a miracle. This is how I would pray, but perhaps you are more spiritual and skilled at praying, so please don’t judge me.
Dear God,
[for those who don’t believe in God add the following: For those of us who don’t have the faith to believe that you actually exist, forgive our faithlessness and hear us this time, it sure will help to undermine our doubts.)
I am not sure if you care much about the primary in Iowa, but the Huckabee supporters would argue that you have “a horse in the race” and that obliges you to disregard the petitions that we utter on behalf of Dr. Ron Paul. Some may say that the last time a Baptist occupied the White House you meant it to punish us for our sins. If that’s the case, we will understand if Rev. Huckabee steals (pun intended) the show in Iowa, because our sins are many.
Romney supporters may argue that you have a dilemma because Mitt Romney also believes that the Bible is the Word of God. Now Lord, it gets confusing because to a man these politicians all claim undying loyalty and devotion to your Word. Dr. Paul wasn’t included in the last survey, but more on him later. He does seem to get the silent treatment from the Pharisees and Chief Priests, but the publicans and sinners hear him gladly. There are even some women of ill-repute who have figuratively speaking anointed his feet with oil. We know you won’t hold that against him, because you too had a problem once with the establishment, but you spoke kindly of the prostitutes and tax collectors. We might as well be honest here. Dr. Paul doesn’t mind tax collectors, but he sure has a problem with their bad habits.
I’m digressing as always. To stress that Huckabee is the only Christian horse in the race and thereby prejudice Romney’s chances of any consideration from on high, his supporters would point to the fact that the Bible specifically excludes any appendices or updates to the Book of Revelation, and thereby question Romney’s resolve. While the Baptists and Mormons duke it out, I would ask that you do a miracle for us. Dr. Paul does not wear his religion on his sleeve (nor does Mr. Romney, to his credit), and so, but for the fact that you are omniscient, you might not even know that Dr. Paul is in the race.
So, Lord, here’s my prayer: For the most part, the people in Iowa follow the council of the chief priests and the temple guard when it comes to casting their votes in a primary. This really puts our man, Dr. Ron Paul, at a huge disadvantage. Nothing short of a miracle will pull him through in Iowa. I know you specialize in miracles, although the kind of miracle I’m asking for will not go down well among the religious establishment in Iowa. However, I also know that you do at times put down the mighty and exalt those of low degree. Please, do it for Dr. Paul in Iowa.
[I won’t dictate the manner in which you end this prayer, but Jesus did say if you ask in His name your prayer will be heard. I don’t know if it will be answered in the way we want it, but it will be heard; but then what do I know. I’m but an infant when it comes matters spiritual.]
I have zero respect for the "conservatives" who are voting for Mitt because he's "religious". Get some brains people and find out what kind of man Mitt really is.
Protect your freedom, and get it back. Else you'll be regretting it in the future. Or maybe not, cause they always need someone protecting them cause if not then natural selection would wipe them out.
It is more important to walk the walk than talk the talk-Ron Paul does the walk.Peace on earth and good will to all men would make a good campaign motto.
