It was bound to happen. The mainstream media are starting to get wind of the Ron Paul Blimp. Yes, you read that correctly -- a blimp. In case you have been hiding under an Internet boulder, Ron Paul's wildly creative and resourceful supporters have been up to their old tricks again, much to the dismay of leftists around the country. I'm sure the neocons at Redstate will have their fun with this one, too -- they surely miss the traffic now that they've banned Ron Paul supporters from posting anything about the candidate on their blogs. Ron Paul? Das ist verboten! But back to the dirigible: a blimp is born, and his name is Who is Ron Paul?
The Los Angeles Times published a piece today called "Foot Soldiers for the Ron Paul Revolution." Yes, you read that correctly: the L.A. Times actually referred to the revolution as just that, a revolution. In the article they mention the Ron Paul Blimp as part of a laundry list of decentralized campaign achievements at the grassroots level: "One Colorado backer quickly raised more than $350,000 online this week, with a plan to launch a Ron Paul blimp."
Who in the old media will be next to discover the airborne Paulmobile? We'll be waiting...

PS - How weird is it that a company owned by the media tallies the votes?
they are now selling advertising for the blimp. I sent Walt an email early this morning about this. It has all the appearances of a definite go for the blimp.
I also forwarded the same email direct to a good writer for the SF Chronicle and also to one who did not seem to like Ron very much at the WSJ.
In my email I attached a song playing in the background "Fifth Dimension - Up Up And Away" this should really get their attention, ha!

I would like to help explain why Paul polls are constantly lower than what his fundraising and supporters would expect.
Most of the media and polling companies get their list of people they call from previous voting years' voter registrations. And if youve been to any of these RP meetups and rallies, youll notice almost none of Ron Pauls supporters were registered voting republicans last voting cycle. We are in for a big suprise soon as these early states' results come in.
The Ron Paul Revolution is changing America. He has clearly surpassed John McCain and is now a "top tier" candidate. Ron Paul dominates in straw polls, debate polls, fund raising, web traffic and grass roots networking. I have gathered the evidence and created a website to support this statement.
The American People are once again given scant choices when it comes to another election; in fact, we only have one choice among the cadre of regurgitated spectacle of candidates presented by the Entrenchment Political Apparatus of the Republican and Democratic Parties and that choice is Ron Paul. Each party have had their respective turns at the ruination of this Country for decades with no solutions to the problems that they themselves have caused; every four years we have been given choices that amount to no choice and their staged production continues to recycle the same type of candidate time and time again.
The Entrenchment Parasitic Ticks from both political parties have spent the last 60 or so years sucking the Life Blood from this Nation and have asked the People to keep smiling and supporting their feckless leadership decision-makers. While they present different Actors, the screenplay is the same. Each election they get on their stage, their lines are well-rehearsed and their emotional plea to the voters rings out with a façade of sincerity, they cry out their empty promises and give no real answers to real issues faced by this Nation. Every four years this nation is swung to the Republicans or the Democrats, all hoping that this time it will be different, but it never is, it is always the same because the agendas are always the same. They care nothing for the People of this Country and at times, witnessed by the folly of their legislations, it appears that they care little for the Country itself.
Until I read Ron Paul’s book: A Foreign Policy of Freedom, I had no idea just how twisted our government really was. Ron Paul has proven to be a voice of clarity in a mass of confusion, misjudgment, miscalculation and mismanagement in government. His writings and knowledge of what is considered by many to be esoteric subjects like monetary policy, economics and the misapplication of a misdirected and broadly applied foreign policy is absolutely astounding and right on target. Ron Paul has correctly interpreted the consequences of these government’s actions time and time again. He predicted how the events would unfold years before they did and he was correct in his predictions.
On numerous occasions, Ron Paul stood before the House of Representatives speaking out about the total lack of reason behind many, if not all of our foreign policies. He stated correctly that on most occasions this country has aided, armed, trained and entered into treaties with both sides of a conflict. He is correct when he states that this country has such an unfocused and broadly applied foreign policy that we fail to determine if our actions are actually in our Nations true best interest. In essence, we have no foreign policy, just a conglomeration of miscalculations that tend to bite us in the ass more times than it actually provides us with security or solutions. We have spent decades and billions upon billions of dollars on programs, policies and decisions that have failed to provide us with any real solutions.
Ron Paul understands that America is not the Social Worker of the World any more than we are the Policemen of the World. Most, if not all of our foreign policy actions have not only proved feckless, but many times harmful to the actual security interests of the American People and this Nation. It is time that we returned rational thought to this government, restrained by a reality that few politicians on either side of the political spectrum grasp.
Ron Paul is the only candidate that understands most of the issues this nation faces, it appears he is the only candidate that has an understanding of monetary mechanics, foreign policy and domestic policy. The rest are simpletons who appear to lack understanding of the concepts that will affect this Nation and its People in ways that we would rather not experience. Yet, those candidates happily promote their empty and unrealistic promises and their gullible supporters seem eager to consume their regurgitated tripe.
I have been a successful businessman for several decades, I have seen these political hacks of special interests and corporate darlings decimate this Nations economy and manufacturing base. They have continued to drive the workingman and woman of this Country into a slow road to being nothing more than productive serfs. I have witnessed the Administrations of 11 Presidents in this country, each have given this Nation precious little in the way of real leadership or common-sense decision-making. Ron Paul is that voice of common sense and a principled intellect beyond reproach. IT IS TIME TO PUT AMERICA AND AMERICANS FIRST-VOTE RON PAUL FOR A REAL CHANGE!!!!!
ever since i became a critical thinker 2 months ago through ron paul and mike gravel, i started to research in earnest about alot of things that really ails our country. we have a serious cancer and it happened very subtly, conjoining through the greed of others, and more so because of our apathy.
in reality, we are competing against an entrenched established systems of power that is embedded incestuously with various facets of society, i.e. media, corporations, government. it becomes disheartening to see it through our polling system, media bias/lack of coverage, and the various laws that members of government officials enacted on our "behalf." who makes them any more qualified than you? they are the ones who are in collusion with power and money. they are the ones who are selling democracy for 30 pieces of silver.
the truth is....one man cannot do it alone. Ron Paul is a beacon for change and that is why i propose a nationwide approach to take measures in our own hands. If Ron Paul becomes President....he has to overcome the members of Congress and Senate. If we have to make changes in our society, we have to overcome them on a district, regional, and state level. People...the real revolution happens when you take charge of your own lives. It doesn't stop with this election because if we let it stop....we become apathetic again and history will repeat itself.
There is corruption and if let it happen...we become apart of it. Its like the Rolling Stones' song, "Sympathy with the Devil." There is a verse that said that every time we let the JFK assassination go without recourse, we become a part of that conspiracy.
So, I'm going to end this letter by saying....be a precinct inspector at the voting polls and make sure the votes count and document everything. And more importantly, run for any office that you can to influence change...whether is a local school district, water municipality, assemblyman, Congressman, or a Senator....we have to take this revolution ourselves. There are June 2008 elections for Congress. That is vitally important to empower yourselves. There are few who are taking up the call...like Mike Benoit who is running for Congress as a Libertarian in San Diego, Theordore Terbolizard (Rep) in Norcal, and Dean Santoro (Rep) in Miami. We are masters of our destiny, to think otherwise is to be a slave.
Take this message to all the other meetups. Maybe this will get to Trevor Lynman and he could promote an awesome website. Can you imagine that? do you know what kind of message that would be?
Please post this everywhere and lets make this a nationwide event.
I am one of the "foot soldiers" who was at that meeting and I am so grateful to see such a positive article...and on the front page with the headline ABOVE THE FOLD! Now it is time to start coordinating our individual MeetUp events and start sending out press releases to mainstream media, and local newspapers, tv stations etc.
I am coordinating the RonPaul LiberTea07 Event in my area (Ventura County, CA). Santa Monica is planning a march and Tea Party event at the Santa Monica Pier. I am doing the same thing in Ventura and I am encouraging every MeetUp group to do the same in every village and town. Throw those crates off the pier or dock, although any pond or puddle will do.
I trust that the RonPaul2008 is getting it in gear for a national campaign....but anything that the grass roots can also do to coordinate local efforts into more regional and statewide organizations would be wise.
And guess what? Although I'm in NC, and we have primary LATE in May, the launching of the blimp is in my state...only 3 hours away in Asheville, NC this weekend! I'm going!
