Ron Paul Meetup Enlightens San Diego Tax Lemmings

Thousands of San Diegans intent on "paying their taxes" were given an opportunity, courtesy of the local Ron Paul Meetup Group, to learn the truth about the IRS and the Federal Reserve. NOTE: Please link to this article, as it has disappeared and reappeared on Google several times! Watch for a follow-up story soon.

 San Diego

On Tuesday I witnessed an appalling scene of mind-boggling, lemming-like behavior. Thousands upon thousands of San Diegans gathered from miles around to deposit "their taxes" into the waiting bins at the Main Post Office on Midway Drive.

Lemmings

Traffic was backed up all the way to the overpass off-ramp from Interstate 8, and there was an endless stream of foot-traffic as well entering and leaving the Post Office. Even more appalling was to consider that this scene was being repeated in countless cities across our once great nation.

Never mind that Title 26 USC, aka the Internal Revenue Code, imposes no tax liability on the average American citizen's labor. Never mind that not a dime of federal tax collected goes to pay for roads, schools, or defense, but instead goes to international bankers to pay the interest on the national debt. Just never mind! "Dammit, get out of my way, I've got to pay!" And so bushel after bushel, bin after bin, their "tax returns" were harvested and dutifully delivered to the hungry maw of the IRS.

In a change from past years, however, dozens of Ron Paul supporters were on hand to cheerfully hand out free copies of "America, Freedom to Fascism" and other literature about the IRS and the Federal Reserve.

Although many were bent on "doing the deed" and being on their way, conversation with those who stopped was a mixture of enlightening, disturbing, and in some cases heart-rending.

Me:

"Would you like some free information about the IRS?"

Angry man:

"I hate those bastards!"

Student:

"Without the IRS, where would the government get its money?"

Dental assistant:

"If I don't pay, won't they come and take my house away?"

Little old lady:

"I could only pay half this year. I have to come up with the rest of the money. Can you help me? What are they going to do to me?"

Ron Paul has for the first time on a national stage heralded to all America the fact that only about 40% of the federal budget is derived from personal income taxes, and that if we merely rolled back federal spending to about the level it was at the beginning of the current Bush administration, we could eliminate this surreal annual ritual from America forever.

Marcus Rivchin, an assistant organizer of the group, was there faithfully handing out materials to those willing to take them. Rivchen, a veritable lightning-rod of leadership and energy, was recently instrumental in getting Dan Felzer on the ballot for the 51st Congressional District. There are other San Diego area "Liberty Candidates" as well, running for both state and federal offices.

Many hundreds of common citizens, rich, poor, young, old, from all occupations and walks of life, are now in possession of vital information that could set them free from tax tyranny. Will they read it? Will they watch the America, Freedom to Fascism DVD? Or will they just shrug their shoulders and go on about their lives, occasionally grumbling about the money withheld from their paycheck?

What about you? If you've read this far, perhaps the good efforts of the San Diego Ron Paul Meetup Group will also benefit you. For a list of educational resources, be sure to read and save a copy of Ron Paul, Friend of April Fools and Taxpayers and follow its links to educational resources about the IRS, taxes, and the Federal Reserve. You'll be glad you did, and your fellow citizens will thank you.

Screw the IRS! We are 9 trillion in debt. Time to pull the credit card away from the crooks that run this country.

Good points.  The FED is the mechanism by which they finance all of their adventures.  The income tax is a way of legitimizing the whole process.  I had a pretty good 2007 and paid a little over $700-thousand in income tax.  What did I get for it?  I guess I got the right to pay some more for 2008.

The only answer presently to this corruption is to make more money.  Long term we will have to find the way for a peaceful revolt.  As NH says, take away their credit card.

First went to San Diego working on the Naval Tactical Data Systems in 1961.  Just a sleepy little Navy town.  Good memories of playing football in Balboa Park, eating over in old town at the Hot Tamale Factory or at the Bali Hi watching the PBY's taking off and landing in Mission Bay, learning to fly out of Lindberg Field, body surfing up at Laguna Beach, getting silver dollars in change at the Coronada ferry (wish I had kept them), etc.  Guess it is little bigger now, eh?

In other news, prosecutors push maximum penalty of 3 years in prison and a $5,000,000 fine for Wesley Snipes, who tried to skip his dutiful tax payments.

Has anybody successfully parried this oppression to date?

Of course prosecutors will push for the max, especially in a "high-profile" case like Snipes. Three consecutive one-year maximum sentences for misdemeanors? Ludicrous. The fact that he was only convicted of misdemeanors rather than the more serious charges is a huge blow to IRS, they are licking their wounds.

Snipes at least had the guts to help show the way for others to resist the tyranny - that's what these federal prosecutors find so intolerable.

As far as anyone successfully parrying the oppression, several come to mind: Joe Bannister, former IRS CID agent; Vernice Kuglin, FedEx pilot; recently Tommy Crier, an attorney(!) who started out skeptical about Tax Honesty.

There are others. Do your reading and research, starting with the links at the bottom of my article.

I wish I had the guts to take Larry the Cucumber's approach to the IRS in the double feature The Toy That Saved Christmas and The Star of Christmas--the silly song Oh Santa.  Larry is visited by a bank robber and a Viking, who he allows in for milk and cookies.  When the peach comes (who is from the IRS), Larry slams the door in the middle of the peach's line.  But for now we are taking Pete Hendrickson's approach.

Penni, thanks for your comments. I would however refer you to Dave Champion and his radio shows; he is IMHO perhaps the most competent and accomplished tax researcher at the present time, and I believe that he has some cautions regarding the Hendrickson approach that should be seriously considered.

If you read the publications of the Federal Reserve, and in particular those of one of the former Governors Beardsley Ruml, you will find some very interesting facts.

In particular, Mr. Ruml states that under a Fiat Monetary System there is no need for the government to tax in order to raise operating revenues. In fact, he clearly states that the governments use of income tax, gift tax and estate tax only has three reasons for existing, these include:

1. To maintain a degree of social control over the people.

2. To redistribute the wealth.

3. To enforce the use of the government's Fiat Currency.

There are no other reasons! Yet, we allow this illegitimate government to continue its ruse.
