Rudy's Reading List May Produce Over Half a Million Dollars For Paul Campaign
The Rudy's Reading List money "bomb-let" won't produce the kind of numbers that the 5th of November money bomb produced, but it's creating a nice little fundraising tweener for the Ron Paul campaign. by Walt Thiessen

Halfway through the day today, there has been a definite jump in donations for the Ron Paul campaign. According to this graph at Ron Paul Graphs, donations for the first half of the day are about $200,000 higher than normal. The counter at Rudy's Reading List shows about 2,300 committed donors. Since the 5th of November money bomb produced total revenue of $4.3 million from roughly 20,000 committed donors (plus an additional 20,000 or so who didn't commit via the website) a reasonable extrapolation would suggest that $430,000 might be expected from today's money bomb-let.
While well below what organizers of today's fundraiser were hoping for, it's still a respectable number. For contrast, consider that Howard Dean's best fundraising day in 2004 was $700,000, so the Rudy's Reading List bomb-let is still in very respectable company as far as online political fundraising goes. Also, there is very little doubt that the Paul campaign will appreciate today's cash influx. An email they sent out a little more than a week ago pleaded with donors to give sooner than the Tea Party money bomb scheduled for December 16th, because they need to purchase advertising now for January. TV and radio stations don't wait...they give their timeslots on a first-come, first-served basis.
There's no word yet as to whether Rudy Giuliani has actually read any of the assigned reading given him by Dr. Paul last Spring. At this late date, it appears likely that Giuliani has probably blown off his homework entirely.
As for the aforementioned Tea Party money bomb, that site currently shows nearly 22,000 donors have signed up to-date. If donors on that day give the way that donors gave on November 5th, Dr. Paul could be looking forward to more than $5 million in one day, which would break his own one-day record, and that's if the fundraiser were to happen today. With 16 days left before that fundraiser makes its own waves among the mainstream media, Dr. Paul could be looking at a $10 million day. Given the fact that his campaign reached the $10 million mark for the 4th quarter, it would mean a total quarter haul of over $20 million. Early January should be very, very interesting between the large media buys, the 1,000+ volunteers descending on New Hampshire, and a blimp flying around the country with Dr. Paul's name plastered on it.
And that's only based on what we know so far. Who knows what else those wonderful Paulites will come up with over the next 30 days, as the start of the primary season approaches.

What do you call a candidate that raises more money than his competitors without having to organize the fundraising, attracts people from other parties and other candidates to join his efforts, and whose base is so diverse as to be unable to stereotype? You call him the frontrunner.
Who cares if the MSM always qualifies their coverage of Dr. Paul's success with the caveat of him "having no real chance"? Their biased polls, which often do not even include him in the choices of candidates, will be exposed when Paul wins the primary.
I would suggest that supporters bring cameras to the straw polls. I read that Romney supporters and staff were stuffing ballots with multiple votes in Florida. This report is unconfirmed. Has anyone come accross a confirmed report of this?
The Tea Party Weekend is going to be huge. I have given what I could manage for each drive. I am cutting my budget so that I can give. If someone were to tell me that I would be giving to a political campaign 6 months ago, I would have thought they were absolutely insane.
I'd have to second that. ^ months ago I thought they were all nuts.(both parties) Now I am actually giving a decent bit of cash to his campaign. As much as I can anyway and I have never in my life cared enough to give to a presidential candidate. And to top it off it's to a republican which in my family is ussually the more evil of two evils. My entire family is registered and ready to vote for Paul!
Ron Paul seems entirely ignorant of the threat posed by the rising tide of Islamo-Fascism. This, after we just witnessed massive riots in France by Muslim Youth.
Here's a reading list for Ron Paul:
"The Rise of Radical Islam in Europe" by Bruce Bawer
"Saddam's Secrets" by Georges Sayda, former Air Force General for Saddam
"The Third Terrorist" by Jayna Davis, chronicling how Muslim Terrorists and even Iraqi Intelligence were behind the Oklahoma City bombing
"The Shadow War: How Bush is Winning the War on Terror" by Richard Miniter
On second thought, Ron Paul and his supporters only read leftwing propoganda such as Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore, Huffington Post and DailyKos. So, they're unlikely to really open up their eyes to the truth.
One could only wish, though?
