RON PAUL - THE BLIMP MAY FLY Well They Got Enough Money In Pledges And The Blimp May Flyby Jim ODonnell
(libertarian)
Friday, November 30, 2007
I just received an email that the group wanting to put a "Ron Paul Blimp" in the air has received pledges of $474,175 as of late last evening.
They needed $325,000 per month accoring to the web site to make it fly. It was intended to be flown first on December 16 in honor of the "Boston Tea Party."
This idea was poo-pooed by many but I think that it is right up there with the original Nov 5 and Dec 16 as one of the better ideas coming from Ron Paul supporters.
The only better idea I read right here on Nolan Chart written by Walt, and that was to have Ron Paul do infomericals al la Ross Perot of substantial length to put on TV in primary States. I have not heard any more about the status of this idea.
Now with respect to the blimp flying we need to hire a little guy wearing a white suit and ringing a bell pointing into the sky saying,
"Look boss, THE BLIMP, THE BLIMP"
al la Herve Villechaize who is no longer with us.

About the Skyship 600
$350,000 per month (all inclusive) with an option to extend based on our success
Helium Gas filled
Max speed of 65 mph with a tailwind
Averages 30 mph and prefers a 2,000 ft elevation.
13 passenger Gondola (seats 12 passengers with 2 pilots up front) complete with a restroom!
Environmentally friendly (comparatively) - While cruising at 30 knots, the Skyship consumes 8 gallons (48 lbs.) of fuel per hour. During a week of operations, the Skyship consumes less fuel than a 767 uses to simply move away from its gate to a runway!!
I have to say that I was skeptical of the whole blimp idea at first but after taking the time to review its potential it really is a great idea.
Can you imagine the exposure Paul will get just having this thing flying around the the stadiums of NFL play off games and the January college football bowl games? Or even the Super Bowl in Febuarary?!
And oh and a correction to your article: the blimp is going to cost $325,000 per MONTH not week. The guy that owns the blimp company is giving us a deal because he is also an RP supporter
I had the privilege of going to the hot air balloon launch in Alberquerque on Columbus Day many years ago. Kodak uses that event in their advertising. There is nothing that gets more attention than slow moving, bright balloons at dawn.
The Washington Post and New York Times will have to write about this, if it goes near their cities. We'll see if it floats!
I love this idea- when the Mainstream media ignores us , let's take to the air!!
After CNN did such a disgraceful job with Dr. Paul in the debate, it is so dam refreshing to see people pull out their wallets , get creative, and continue the fight.
Anyone that sees that blimp is going to ask who the heck is Ron Paul - and they need to find out soon.
No problem Nathaniel Brous, I appreciate the correction, I either read it incorrectly or did not properly recall the facts.
And yes DigitalBob, it will be BIG on the media as they can't possible ignore something that size. It would be great to have Ron dressed in an all white suit along with his side-kick waiting for the blimp at least once.
You know, I am beginning to feel really sorry for all the other candidates as none of them has 1/100 of the imagination, persistance or humor of the Ron Paul crew.
Na, I take that back they deserve what they are going to get.
