Hillary as Rocky When will she become Harold Stassen?by rtbohan

Hillary Clinton is trying a new tack after the embarrassment caused by stories about dodging bullets, bringing peace to Ireland, and being named for Sir Emund Hillary. She now compares herself to a different fictional charater than the one she has been trying to create. So Super Hillary, the intrepid expert on international peace has been shelved for Rocky.
She introduced the comparison with Rocky in Philadelphia. She did not run up the museum steps. Instead she portrayed herself as Rocky, the fighter who would not quit. The fighter who achieved the championship.
How valuable this identification will be to the Senator is open to question. When most people think of Rocky, the think of Sylvester Stallone. And Sylvester Stallone has already endorsed John McCain in the presidential race.
It may cause another problem, as well. Is she Rocky I, with the gang enforcer who rises by sheer grit to become champion of the world? Not exactly a good fit for someone who came into the campaign as the "inevitable" nominee of the Democratic Party and is now struggling to remain viable until the convention. Or is it RockyIII, who also was involved in international affairs. Or the later Rocy, the stumbling has been,
And this raises questions about what never giving up means. If she does not win nomination and election in 2008, can we expect her back in 2012? And 2016? and 2020? In 2024 can we expect to proclain that she is like Harold Stasen, the Republican who never gave up?
