Our Next President and a Greater Nation Thought regarding our president hopefuls.by Analysis

I would like to share my thoughts on the next President of the United States. I feel that November will end in victory for our country, whether it ends with McCain, Clinton or Obama. Although registered as a democrat, I think any of these three candidates will make a fine president.
Although the two candidates I would least like to see in the oval office are technically still in the race, I am not too concerned about their victory. One of these two candidates is Ron Paul, who plans on severely weakening the federal government. On the contrary, I prefer expanding the powers of the central government. The other candidate is of course Mike Huckabee, who basically wants to turn America into a theocracy. Amend the Constitution to God's standards? I prefer God and government to be kept separate. On the other hand, think about the taxes we could collect from the churches. We might be able to start universal health care, better fund our public schools, or even pay for a couple days in Iraq. As said earlier though, I am not overly concerned about Huckabee or Paul getting into the White House.
As for the other three candidates, they all seem to be alright by my standards. None of them are threatening to decentralize the federal government and they have even promised to expand it in some areas.John McCain remains in my third place position on presidential hopefuls. However, I do agree with most of his plans regarding Homeland Security. In general, he wishes to keep or expand the government's involvement in this field. This includes a support of the Patriot Act and "roving wiretaps." I also support his position to ban torture (including waterboarding) and his general support for protecting the environment. Other issues I agree with him on include: Media Responsibility Act, his support on the war on drugs, line-item veto, stricter punishment on crime, funding for stem-cell research. I do not support him on issues such as: keeping the troops in Iraq, education in general, and his position taxes.
I generally support the democrats. I am registered as a democrat and would prefer if Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama would be our next president. Both support a lot of things together including universal, or cheap, health care and opposing Bush tax cuts. In general, both democratic candidates seem to want to strengthen the national government, which is fine by me.
I like Barak Obama in several ways. He is charismatic and generally well liked personally. These characteristics are important in a leader. More important, however, are his promises if he is president. Some things I support him on are: stem cell research, keep from privatizing social security, federal involvement to reduce environmental change and against "ownership society."
Hillary Clinton is similar to Obama. They basically seem to share similar ideals but have different plans to carry them out.
As for the next presidency, it seems our Federal government may get weaker in some areas depending on who is president. However, overall it will become stronger in many more areas. As of today, it appears that our country will become greater and more efficient in the years to come. Raise your glass of Victory Gin (yes, I read George Orwell's 1984 and found it entertaining despite the anti-government theme) for the soon-to-be greater United States of America.

What leap of logic gets you from "our Federal government ... will become stronger in many more areas" to "our country will become greater and more efficient"?

I disagree with you completely. To sum up what you said - Welcome to slavery and injustice to all.
The federal government is now weaker than it has ever been. They have played their cards and are now bankrupt and the only way they can survive is to march towards facisim which is a central authority that controls the economy and social aspects of life.
The third thing is the shadow government that has been destroying this country, its constitution, bill of rights by illegal means with the avowed purpose to put us into the North American Union. The end result being a One World Order.
Good lord. I'm glad I never said anything that strong, Patrick Henry and Creator would have lynched me or something.
In some ways I agree, Analysis. But I don't like the way all three like to play kick-ball with the Constitution. I want a strong central government, but it should occur within the framework of the Constitution as Hamilton sanctioned.
I have to disagree about Obama. Even though I'm black I'm not voting for him, I haven't heard him say a single SOLID committment to much except abortion.
Although this article contains some of my personal truth, much of it is smoke. A lot of the article is what many libertarians would expect a statist to say although not nessesarily true. I am much more mellow than this. I thought to have a bit of fun with you considering the day.
Me thinks thou useth to many "I" for your proposition/mellow bit of fun. We Liberals are getting just what we 'd hoped for and we already know the end. Obama is here to stay and he will be swallowed up by the system, compromise his integrity just like all the rest when he becomes President. It's easy to make all the promises (especially to all the little guys, impoverished, ill-educated) and spin eneough candy fluff around them. Working with House and Senate, avoiding the flaming arrows of special interests, realizing that the President actually has very little power unless nasty and deceptive politics are front and center. I can't believe I am saying this but, people, my integrity meter shows the Huckabee as someone who might actually have just pulled off a transformation in US politics toward Integrity and sensibility. Clinton caved a long time ago--Obama is ankle deep (an empty waggon can make alot of noise) and Mc Cain can out slick Willy any day. I'm not religious but I recognize when someones religion actually works and is consistent with their actions. Mr. Huck--thanks for the refreshing character. Please come again and don't leave us Liberals to ourselves too long. We so want to be loved by everyone and we've got our entitlements to prove it. We might even get low eneough to try and change the Constitution.
You criticize Mike Huckabee for wanting to restore this great nation to a standard worth fighting for, yet you're a communist for wanting more government control and involvement. You speak from both sides of your ass man. More government and Univeersal HC are a waste of time and will never happen. By the way, you're article makes no sense whatsoever. Terribly written, no point to it. Just a lot of general statements.
Good one! Analysis, April Fools on us, right? Personally I think Huckabee is the best of the bunch. He is not talking about changing the Constitution, but amending it with two issues that have been debated for a long time; those two being the marriage amendment, and the "life" amendment. Amendments to the Constitution have been good for the country, for instance, the second amendment which guarantees an individuals right to keep and bear arms, the amendment that guarantees women the right to vote, the amendment outlawing slavery...to name a few.
He is in NO WAY indicated in any of his speeches that he wants to turn this country into a theocracy. He is one who clearly understands what the founders meant when they set their hands to the statement " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof........
in other words, religion is free FROM government interference, not that government is free (or devoid) OF religion. I believe that at this point in time, now;today, that our government, and our country, for that matter, can use all the help from God that it can get.

LP thanks for the vote of confidence that I would defend freedom so readily, but I can recognize drunk incoherent ramblings from a mile away. No one could really believe that crap that lives in our country, has read the Constitution and is not huffing gallons of spray paint.
By the way why are you even mentioning aw Shucksabee, hes gone an old news. Maybe his comment that the "Consitution should be brought more in line with Bible" comment made some think he wanted a theocracy, but just a guess from an aetheist.
Uh Dr. Paul is still in the race, and decentralized government, google the US Constituion and read it for cryin out loud.
Are you serious? Oh, I'm sorry I though you were joking. EXPAND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?!? Please define the logic you used, write me a book even. Even then I don't think I could comprehend.
