Gwen, what I foresee, you wouldn't want to even consider.
In 1607, Captain John Smith, administrator of the Jamestown Colony, issued the directive: "If you don't work, you don't eat." it saved the colony.
It's an eternal requisite, for a successful society ! Every person, upon attaining majority, acquires the responsibility of developing an occupation, capable of feeding, clothing and sheltering themselves, and any children they have sponsored into this world, until they are capable of assuming said chores. The alternative is theft, either as an individual, or part of a group.
Unneeded, Unnecessary, Expendable!
When cleaning your garage, anything that falls into any of these categories are, in a word "disposables." Unfortunately, all three terms are applicable in direct proportion to the interrelationship between conditions, circumstances, and human life. As an example: Expendable.
Every decision made by military commanders, from the highest officer, to the lowest grunt, is made with the knowledge that the lives of those assigned to the mission, including themselves, must be considered as such. In an all volunteer army, every individual, and their loved ones, must be aware of this reality, and act accordingly.
Freedom was the mission for which the all volunteer Colonial Army fought:
Freedom was the goal to which the business men pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor:
"Freedom was the mission of every person, regardless of gender, regardless of capacity, who has ever worn an American uniform, in service to their fellow citizens. (though not necessarily true of the "leadership.)
Unneeded, Unnecessary, Unwanted.
While the term "expendable" explored the noble side of humanity, the terms unneeded, unnecessary and unwanted, by exposing the conditions, and circumstances under which not only honor, but civilization itself ceases to exist, its shameful side.
The tragedy that is South Africa, validates this statement, while teaching a very valuable lesson.
Horrific living conditions; hunger and rampant disease, exacerbated by rape and murder; all sanctioned by "government," is, without doubt, the epitome of evil, and the betrayal of the term "humanity,"
These people possess nothing worth stealing. Lacking even an independent source of food, and any means of self defense, self reliance is out of the question, in this sense, they truly are unneeded; unnecessary, and unwanted.
Yet their nation is a treasure chest of gold, silver, diamonds, oil, rich farm land, and a living zoo. They enjoyed one of the first civilizations of which we have record. What happened?
For centuries their nation was occupied, governed, and raped by foreigners. The value of their lives was, and is, accorded the net worth of their labor.
Their natural resources were, and are still being stolen, for the purpose of making rich men, and kings, even richer.
Betrayed by government, survival instincts replaced compassion, and tribal hatred destroyed their civilization.
There can be no better lesson on the perils of the forfeiting of self reliance? Consider the following, and then try to sleep:
Just as happened to the African people, we are being sold out by our government.
The value accorded our labor, thus our lives, is worth virtually nothing, when it can be obtained, "wholesale."
Though loudly proclaiming their devotion to the principles most of us hold dear to our hearts, and to which the United States was dedicated, our "leaders" daily betray them.
We are rapidly losing control of our own security and welfare, the result of the willful misuse of their time and our nations resources, leading eventually to our subjugation.
By willfully failing to secure or border, our "leaders" are aiding and abetting the formation of vicious, well armed Mexican gangs, thus furnishing justification for martial law.
Industries vital to our independence, including steel and electronics production, are long time gone.
We are rapidly being "led" into the necessity of following the dictates of foreign nations for our food and necessities.
The rich get richer, and the poor poorer, as our nation is being sold piece by piece to foreign nations;
Our ports are already in the hands of foreigners, and our airports on the way; our merchant shipping fleet has disappeared; much of our trucking industry is foreign owned, and no one has any idea who controls the railroad!
Our borders are being overrun by illegal aliens, with the blessings of our "leaders;"
A ten lane, foreign owned, truck corridor is in the works. A toll road, built and owned by a Spanish company, featuring non stop traffic from ports under construction on Mexico's Pacific coast, through the heart of Texas to terminals in Kansas City, then on to Calgary, Alberta Canada.
While we engorge on an endless array of sports, and stupid TV programs, control of our lives is being politically stolen, and shipped overseas.
If we value our American heritage, we've gotta wake up; turn off the TV, and get off our asses! However, it's obviously not going to happen before total collapse of the federal government. I just pray that the planet has not been reduced to a nuclear waste dump, before then.
