Ron Paul and Liberty on TV, Every DAY? Move over, FOX, CNN, MSNBC. Make way, NBC, CBS, ABC. Step aside, CSPAN. A New Media is rising, and not a moment too soon, bearing the standard of Ron Paul and bringing his message of Peace, Liberty, and Prosperity to the common man in America.by creator

Can you imagine being able to kick back on the sofa, switch on the Tube, and see what progress was made today to restore Liberty in America?
Imagine tuning in a channel where Ron Paul isn't laughed at.
Picture being able to ask your friends "Did you hear what Dr. Paul said to Ben Bernanke yesterday?"
Feature overhearing in the grocery store:
"Can you believe that eggs are $4 a dozen now?" "Ron Paul says that the price of eggs didn't go up - the value of the dollar went down." "What do you mean? Where'd you hear that?" "I heard it on ALN last night - cable channel 73."
All of this and more can begin happening in the near future if we grab the bull by the horns and take back our power, take back the media itself.
Haven't you had enough propaganda? They're using TV to shape and mold the minds of Americans day after day. Isn't it about time we start doing the same thing ourselves? It's time to plant some sensible notions into the heads of our fellow citizens.
THEY have used television to demonize, marginalize, and ridicule Ron Paul and his ideas of liberty. THEY have used their power, supported by the advertising for the products we buy, to promote the evil cause of totalitarian big government and a police state.
WE must fight fire with fire, using the visual / audible medium of television that every American child alive today has been weaned on, to begin promoting the genuine, the honest, the truthful. WE must be able to say to our friends, "TIVO this show" and give them a time and channel where they can get a daily dose of reality.
So, you say, This sounds like a BIG task. How can we possibly do something like this?
Remember the Ron Paul money bombs? $4 million one day, more than $6 million a month or so later? Who would have believed such a thing possible? The answer is, hundreds of thousands of people who yearn to breath the air of a free country once again!
When you stop and think about it, the total cumulative force of we the people of America who want the truth known, who care about liberty, is HUGE. Like tiny drops of rain that run downhill, accumulating into streams, then cataracts, and finally great rivers; like individual flakes of snow that pile up until they form a mighty avalanche, the pressure of hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands, and by now certainly millions of living, breathing, thinking, awake Americans, can accomplish incredible things.
Remember the Ron Paul Blimp?
What would you give for a news channel that would really report the NEWS? What would you give for a platform from which Dr. Paul could speak freely? What would a program promoting genuine American liberty be worth?
Would it be worth $20 to you? Perhaps $50? Maybe $100? More?
You say your "maxed-out?" This is not a political campaign, so you're not. Can't afford it? How about a "token amount?" Just sacrifice your next lunch out, your belt with thank you. What is liberty worth to you?
Would it be worth taking a minute or two, right now, -- YES! I'm talking to YOU! -- to Thumb and Digg this article, to send it in an email to a friend, to go to http://americanlibertytv.com/ and sign up to donate to this great cause? The very best way to spread an idea is "word of mouth," also known as a "viral campaign." This is one of those ideas that's worth spreading. Tell your wife, husband, children, friends, neighbors, Ron Paul meet-up group members. This is a good one, worth a few bucks, worth a few minutes, worth lighting a fire under. What are you waiting for? GO!

Money bombs are a great way to start up; but IMO for this venture to receive stable funding, it needs commercial sponsorship as well. As one who's too poor at present to contribute much more than words, I'd urge ALN to look into this from the beginning - even if it's only Ron Paul gear being advertised at the start, ads should & must be a part. A lot of companies of course won't want to get involved with something so overtly political. Good; those are the same that would pull their ads at any source of controversy; who needs fair-weather friends like that anyway?
After checking out the americanlibertytv website, I'm glad I stuck with my original instinct and am saving cash to buy in to an IPO at www.breakthematrix.com instead. This is a media company which is being built by the guy who created the whole Ron Paul money bomb concept, and looks like it has a much sounder business model. I have high hopes for their media company!
This is not an "either-or" situation. Why not do both? You can contribute a small amount to help get this project rolling -- consider it "seed money" -- but then later on "invest" in the break the matrix concept.
As I understand it, BreakTheMatrix is planning to start with radio only - TV comes later in their "game plan." However, there is a strong sense that TV is needed, and the sooner the better. A "Nightly News" show format would have very broad appeal to the average "couch potato" and very likely would become self-supporting quickly.
I had been wondering if out there somewhere is a guy with talents like unto a libertarian Rush Limbaugh, except not obnoxious, that people would just happen to channel surf upon and get enlightened...
I can donate to both. If they don't succeed, well, I'm not struggling....
Getting honest reporting on the television should be the highest priority of the entire nation of people. There are many people who have realized for years that the media is controlled. Ron Paul campaign proved it to hundreds of thousands more.

"A "Nightly News" show format would have very broad appeal to the average "couch potato" and very likely would become self-supporting quickly."
Why?
News is not in short supply as it is. News providers are everywhere.
The big trouble I see in a group of people knowingly forming to offer up propaganda, is that it will be seen as just that. You can't call that "news".
Maybe you agree with the propaganda... that's fine. But that is what it is. I'm not sure why there would be a big audience for any purely political TV programming, once the election cycle passes us all like a sleeper wave and goes away.
It would be far better to develope documentaries or news "Specials" and then get support (ask for donations or investors) for producing them. Then, you'd have a commodity that could be shopped around, sold many times over, and would provide for a particular viewpoint to be expressed.
While I support the notion of getting the small government viewpoint out there, I am not too enthusiastic about the "beg and try" method mentioned here. SOmething isn't sitting quite right, asking for large amounts of capital with no track record of any kind behind the venture.
My comments about "propaganda" in the article are perhaps somewhat hyperbolic. I didn't intend at all to paint Walt's concept with that brush, and please absolutely consider what Walt himself has had to say, in his article and on his TV website, as governing.
News, authentic news, is as a matter of fact and clear record in very short supply. There are fundamental facts about, for example, the current real economic state in America that are NOT being presented to the public. There are world events reported almost worldwide while being uniformly "spun" to American eyes and ears.
A real news channel would present all the news, good, bad, and indifferent. Real news would not focus on the latest real-life Hollywood soap opera. A real nightly news program certainly could, and probably should, contain some "propaganda" - i.e. op-ed material - clearly demarcated as such. There is no doubt in my mind that America would benefit greatly from the viewpoint of the founding fathers, governmental minimalists and radicals that they were, as a counterpoint to the endless drivel that passes for "news" and "commentary" on virtually all existing TV channels today. Real news would most certainly, for example, show the thousands of flag-draped coffins returning from Iraq.
This would not be "purely political" in any sense. There is much news today that is completely ignored - read deliberately obscured and suppressed - by "mainstream" media. For example, how often did you hear a TV anchorman report on the relatively recent cooperative agreement between the US and Canadian militaries? I thought so.
As for "no track record of any kind" behind the venture, I would have hoped that you might credit the Nolan Chart Founder with a little more honor than that careless comment.

If you are going to cable this, we can already get the BBC AND the AL Jazeera news. What would make your news station different? If you want impact, and want to survive on the air, you can't just be a one hour poraganda news insert in the middle of a cable network. Especially in between election cycles.
YOU COULD however, be a mock news hour ala The Daily Show, in which the platform is blatantly libertrian in bent. Comedy and satire will attract viewers, and the message will be easier to consume. Or perhaps a Bill Maher/Jon Stewart blended rip off show?
I already have the title for it--
Ruin Nation.
(Your government is not who you think it is.)
As for your last comment, if my brother came to me and said "give me ten million I want to try something..." my reaction would be identical. It is not Walt at all that is recieving my reluctance, it is the general idea of asking for a large amount of donated money for an idea alone. Start small and grow, like the Matrix is doing.
If you want to do TV, do ONE SHOW and sell it, prove you are capable, and then soldier on.
Show me a script and story board and a plan for aquiring cameras and such and I'll donate. Heck, I might even donate some time helping with props and doing the hair and make-up of starlets...

How we start will depend upon how much money we are able to raise on April 15. If we fall short of the goal (even far short), we'll evaluate how much money we were able to raise and decide how to proceed from there. But no matter how much we raise, the approach will be the same. We'll still start with Internet TV broadcasts first, because it takes time to get a news team up-to-speed. After that, second stage will be putting it on an existing channel. After that, we'll go after our own channel.
If the fundraising falls too short to put together a serious news team, then perhaps we might fall back on what Scott is suggesting. The big problem with his suggestion, though, is that even though it seems like it should be something you can do on a shoestring, you really can't.
You have to get people into one geographical place who are being paid to do a news show. A professional news show (even just a single pilot show as Scott is suggesting) can't reasonably be done by just one or two people in their spare time. It takes a team of people, committed to making the final product as professional as possible. It also takes good money for good, professional equipment. I can tell you from experience that when you work with consumer equipment, the results just don't measure up, because it takes a lot more than just a camcorder....believe me! When you work with sub-pro equipment, you end up spending hours and hours spinning your wheels. Professional work requires professional equipment and professional (paid) staff. End of story.

I would still suggest you start with crappy equipment on a shoestring and do your one half hour news show for the internet. If the writing is good, and the content interesting, it will move you to the next step- better equipment, lighting, sound, etc... If the content is good and the quality good, it will move you to the next step, which is a slot on cable. If that goes well, it will move you to the next phase...
Here is a suggestion for a Network name-- LiberTV
These types of ventures really need to be earned. The trust has to be built up. If they sound a bit Pie In The Sky, they probably are...

Your idea has merit and I support it wholeheartedly. Libertarians in Sacramento, CA have some experience with TV. For the last 19 years or so we have been producing a half hour weekly panel discussion TV show that discusses the issues of the day from a libertarian perspective. The Libertarian Counterpoint airs weekly on Sacramento Cable Channel 17 and is now simulcast live on the internet at www.accesssacramento.org at 8pm Thursdays, Noon Fridays, and 4am Saturdays Pacific Time. I've been hosting it for several years now. It would probably be possible to make it a part of your network offerings. In addition, I have an extensive background in the media. You can check it out at Linkedin under Richard (Dick) Fields. I'd be happy to help you in any way I can. But I'm not giving up my day job just yet.
The weaponvision is all the sheeple pay attention to. As I heard Limbaugh say one day, on one of the rare occassions I've actually listened to him, "most people don't listen to talk radio."
That requires too much brain power. Reading requires too much brain power. We have to make Liberty sound easier than socialism. Until that happens the obamacommies of the world will continue to attract the rats, darn I hate insulting such an intelligent animal, pigs, darn it, another intelligent animal, sheeple, who just want a check and a simple solution to their problems. Better yet, they want someone else to solve all their problems without them ever knowing they had a problem.

The "problem" with "our" message is in it's inherent simplicity. There is no entertainment value at the core of our one "value". After you get past all the different "angles" and half-truths of our "movement", it all boils down to one fact and philosophical point. Ayn Rand felt the need to write over a thousand pages, in Atlas Shrugged, just to get one basic truth and premise across to the proletariat.
I'll spell it out since even some reading these comments haven't finished their personal journey to philosophical maturity yet. Each and every person on this planet is an Individual Sovereign Human Being. Each and every person has Basic Inherent Irrevocable Inalienable Human Rights And Responsibilities. The MOST basic and fundamental of these rights is the right to be LEFT COMPLETELY ALONE, to live a complete existence without any other person committing ANY aggression/force/fraud against them. The MOST basic and fundamental responsibility is the responsibility to LEAVE EACH AND EVERY OTHER HUMAN BEING ALONE, to totally respect their right to live a complete existence without any other person committing ANY aggression/force/fraud against them.
Please join me in being a student and an advocate of the Philosophical Maturity known as The Non-Aggression Principle(NAP).
I would be very interested in providing intimate and lifelong support to your project, but only if your anchor was Marc Stevens of Adventures In Legal Land and the No State Project(or someone meeting or exceeding his caliber).
And, for those who might doubt these truths, I can say that I'm a former roommate of Michael Badnarik and have provided security for Ron Paul during portions of his private and public engagements.
Operation Cat Herder is reaching out to those wanting to keep the revolution moving. Dr. Paul's new book is number one on Amazon and is climbing the New York Times and other best seller lists. Ron Paul supporters dominated the Nevada caucuses, and he took his best showing in a primary so far in Pennsylvania recently with more contests approaching fast. Even the MSM is starting to pay attention to the good doctor again, don't miss the interview on CNN American Morning: [link edited for length]
There are many great opportunities to continue the rEVOLution:
May 1st (today!) is the Mayday money bomb [link edited for length] for congressional candidate Vern McKinley [link edited for length] who is one of the best chances we have to get another Ron Paul Republican in Congress. Even Dr. Paul himself has cited Vern's public policy work! [link edited for length]
A new organization "Freedoms Ground" is attracting many of the best and brightest of the grassroots organizers to build the infrastructure we need to further the cause of liberty. [link edited for length]
Granny Warriors hosted a fun rally on the Capitol grounds where Dr. Paul spoke; they are now planning a Revolution for Freedom Festival in Sturgis, South Dakota on July 2nd to the 6th. [link edited for length]
