The Revolution Must Be Televised! Announcing plans to create a daily news program on national TV as a first step toward creating a network, supported by a Ron Paul style money bomb.by Walt Thiessen

Ron Paul's presidential campaign has proven how effective online money bombs can be. If it works for political campaigns, we're hoping it can work to fund a network TV news program.
The biggest complaint that Paul supporters have had about Fox News, ABC, CNN, NBC, CBS, etc. is that they shortchanged the Ron Paul campaign, particularly leading up to the New Hampshire primary. It's a valid complaint, but it doesn't make any sense to expect that the networks are going to change anytime soon.
So I've launched a website for the purpose of raising money in support of a news program (and ultimately an entire TV network) that will challenge the TV news oligopoly. We plan to work with breakthematrix.com to bring the first, truly freedom-oriented nightly newscast ever to national television here in the United States.
The fact is that until we take the initiative to become the media, the ideals of liberty will continue to be shortchanged in daily newscasts. That trend must change.
There are a large number of positives that will happen when we succeed. First is that, by launching this news show this summer, we'll be in time to report on the efforts of Ron Paul delegates to influence the platform at the Republican Party's national convention in September. If they succeed in getting enough delegates there to make these changes, it's likely that the MSM will continue to ignore it (or perhaps might ridicule it), but if we're there, it won't get ignored. It'll get covered.
If there is a march this summer on Washington, we'll be able to videotape it and (if we're broadcasting by then), we'll broadcast news reports of the event, something that's not likely to happen on the MSM networks.
There are also a significant number of RonPaul-type candidates trying to gain major party nominations for Congress around the country. It's a good bet that even their local TV won't give them much coverage...but we will! Third party presidential candidates from the Constitution and Libertarian parties (for example) will continue to get ignored by the other media, but they won't be ignored by us.
Real ID is intended to take effect in May of this year. Will the MSM give it proper coverage? Probably not, but we will.
As the economy continues to crumble, you can bet that the major media won't be telling people the truth about how and why it's happening. Instead, they'll play up the bogeymen that Ben Bernanke points to as the "culprits" while they kowtow to additional "stimulus" proposals by the presidential candidates. Only by having our own daily news program do the masses have any hope of hearing the truth.
The grassroots learned this past year just how difficult it is to educate the masses during a campaign. Education has to be ongoing, regular, and intensive in order to be effective. A liberty-oriented newscast that appears every weekday can do the job to a degree that no political campaign can ever hope to succeed in doing.
Our goal is to raise $10 million on April 15th. That's a sizeable goal, but it's reachable. If 100,000 give just $100 each, we'll make our goal. Why $10 million? Because that's how much we're estimating it will cost to put a daily news program on the air and simulcast over the Internet for a year. What happens if we don't reach our goal? If we still reach a sizeable total, we'll start building the show anyway and (if needed) hold additional money bombs over time. The eventual plan is to raise most funds via advertising dollars, but that takes time to develop. That's why donations will be so critical, particularly the first year.
So what do you say? Are you willing to help us become the media? Isn't it about time there was a nightly news program that told people the whole truth, and not just what the "powers that be" want us to hear? Register your intention to support the Nolan Chart money bomb today, and spread the word.
Oh, by the way, for those who are concerned that the Nolan Chart website will get ignored, we're going to include a "Point/Counterpoint" special in the show where a hot issue gets debated by representatives of the five camps on the Nolan chart. Every time that segment runs, we'll also show the website's address on screen. That should increase traffic to the website considerably! I can assure you, this website will not be ignored. In fact, it's going to play a prominent role.

Bravo! I have commited to donate, applied for a position, and gave some ideas for a name. My appreciation can not be expressed with words. I applaude yours, and everyone elses effort in this attempt to provide the liberty of choice to the world.
Good to see! I'm sorry to be a pesimist, but I'm not sure how much money the donations will bring in. Ron Paul was able to pull in $6 million in a single day because back in December, every single website was dominated by Ron Paul. Today the RP fever has cooled quite a bit and his money bombs haven't brought in much since then. This is due to many factors, but nonetheless the donations aren't what they used to be.
Therefore, to have a multimillion dollar money bomb, you're going to have to find a more appealing way to ask for money. What I mean is, when someone hears "website X is asking for donations," it doesn't really mean anything since so many people ask for money. But what if this was a website/cause endorsed by certain people? They would be more likely to donate. So what my point is here, is to show your idea to popular/well known people and see if it interests them. For example, see what Ron Paul says about this idea. If he endorses it, there's half your donations right there. Also seek the opinion of John Stossel. He's a well known TV personality who loves freedom. If you show popular freedom-loving individuals that a news network is being created that will actually feature journalism, this will get big in a hurry.

This sounds a little crazy.... so count me in. Second Mr Antimony's comments, how about sounding out Mike Gravel, John Stewart, Mike Scheuer, Naomi Wolf, liberatethis.com, etc, etc as well? And those 'buy gold' websites. Good luck, you can reach me through the lounge if I can help any further.
